Hey all. I am still alive! Ive moved into a new apt that i love about 2 months ago i just havent really got into a painting gear yet. Anyway, i did pick up some brushes and get into painting one of fusiliers for my pan O army for infinity. I still am itching to paint more vehicles for my eldar army but money is tight so im just painting what i have right now. As usual some spots are totally done, where others have just been color marked or need blending etc etc. still alot to be done here.

sorry these are probably really terrible quality pics, my camera is not photoing well in my new place and i dont haver the knowledge to know why. Also, my ipad app doesnt work so its wonky trying to transfer photos now. oh well..

Cheers all!

We were all just waiting for you, Zambro.

I love it! I'm thinking of doing similar with my PanO. Dram metal armor and purple berets and accents.

What's you recipe for the metal armor, if you don't mind sharing?

Thank you both! Always such positive fellas! Im not over the moon with this fellows progress, and its surely not my best efforts...but my over all rule is that as long as i like it more than i hate it and there were some successes along the way, i finish the thing. PLus the practice of painting the NMM armor when your chops are raw is a great way to get your ass back into shape. ouch!

The armor, is a basically an initial wash of Adeptus Battlegrey, the foundation paint, as its high in pigment and works extremely well as wash almost.that wash is done once over a zenithal airbrush prime. once it dries, i add black to one side of the AB pool, and white to the other...i glaze down to black, and i glaze to a middle grey, as the next step of highlights need to be pretty stark so i jump up to a thicker consistency closer to white grey and work up from there. final dots of pure white are sprinkled in the strategic locations...and finally i black line with hard black in between major seperations...

Hope that helps. Stilll a work in progress for me as well Hes almost done, so ill post something finished soon. Peace.

Gitsplitta! Thank you Good to be back on the brushes for a time. Strange when the inspiration hits...so random...

im calling this dude done. Ill maybe do a better showcase pic later but for now im just throwing up what ive got hoping the pics will do justice. I put some time into this one, enjoyed the process. I must remember to be more careful when carving mold lines as once paint goes on sometimes little details become hard to follow. bric a brac i call it. hate bric a brac. LOL. Sure there are some things that maybe couldve come out better here, but really, im pleased. Here are some photos. Thanks for looking,

That's just amazing bebop... I just can't fathom how you paint such a tiny figure with such detail and technique.

Good work, BB. Looks nice.

For your photos, maybe try more light from the front, without reducing that from above. It may help, it may not...

Hey fellas, thanks for positivity! Model was fun to paint and regain some chops and get back into the speed of things....

@ Shas not sure what an indigo trooper is....cuz i fail at rules....<_<

So its 2am....why not do an update cuz im cracked out on caffeine and late night painting...loving this model. the pose is so dynamic and fun to paint, and generally super clear. The backpack is kinda a crap sculpt and really hard to shave massive flash off of then retain its insane tiny detail. Makes painting the thing a challenge really. But stoked either way!!!

ok that does it for tonight

Yo Gits, thanks! I agree, the orange is really striking. I copied the color design from the studio model on this mini so i cant claim to have thought it up in this case.

Ive made more progress today!! Have a few days....tomorrow afternoon im off to Pennsylvania for the weekend so no progress will be made! Obviously so much to do But as for now...

Cheers!

Nice work, BB. Lovely blending.

Pic's take a good while to load, but after that no prob's. For someone old enough to remember pre-broadband, 10secs isn't really that long.

It's really cool to see you creep your way across a model... so much different than the way I do it, and such fantastic results!

Thanks guys No time to paint today, my flight is at 3:30 and i havent packed >_< .... LOL.... just a response..

Gits: creeping is certainly what i do LOL....I generally find that if i treat each lttle part/section of a mini, as its own mini, my focus is much stronger and im able to be inspired about every little detail. However, some parts end up getting finished and others tend to end up at the end. Its a lack of focus on my part because truly i want to finish the arm entirely before moving on, and clearly thats not the case.
Also seeing as in INFINITY, each guy really is on his own, even if they are the same type of unit, it matters not that they arent exactly the same, so it allows for some wiggleroom as long as a theme is generally present

Cheers, hope to get back to this guy when i return home on sunday and i hope the momentum stays !!

Finally got a day off and some good painting in. I finished mostly his left arm and right arm except the elbow and under armors...more detail work and glazing on the gun. Started the ammo clip but not done. I really am enjoying painting this model. Also, my dad hooked me up with a new and much better and more powerful camera. These shots were taken with it, alot to learn here with this one. Any tips on what settings are appropriate is appreciated! Thanks all....sorry for this massive photo dump

cnc always appreciated
Cheers <3

hey all! i got some more painting done tonight! woot for late night painting...progress on the right leg. and back but havent photoed it yet, will later and ill put it up on the next update. i decided to not use orange on the biggest of glowy lights and im happy i didnt. i was wanting to sneak teal into the model for a minute and i decided on the lights on his boots...the base and some other details will join that tertiary color. Ive also begun using teal glazes here and there...Im really very pleased <3 !! just some shots of the leg, still messing with this new camera, its considerably more complex with options and mechanical dials im not sure about. let me know if the pics seem sub standard, ive just decided to throw up a bunch of different shots of different settings. And zooms...

Looks really nice, BB.

Can't help you with the camera, I still use a phone.

Just try to make sure that what you see in the photo looks as much like what you see in real life as possible, as avoid as many real shadows on the model as possible (that's a lighting thing, rather than a camera thing).

Beautiful and i'm glad they're a better size! I couldn't see them properly all I could see was large parts of perfectly blended and shaded models now I can see all of the beautifully blended and shaded model and I am a little jealous! really neat work!

@ Damo i wonder what you are viewing on? my ipad auto resizes the pics to be normal except with the proper res. when i upload at "recommended size" my pics appear blurry in the inbed. Its only dakka too, because i dont have this issue at all with FB...are you looking on your phone? or PC...just wondering >_<

@Cam and Warp: Cheers and Thanks! Warp i realize i did not give a very detailed explanation, so if you do indeed want that ill give a more specific explanation

WOOT> Hes DONE. STOKED yo....really....This is my strongest mini to date i think without question. For me, i dunno, yall my feel differently, but i felt in total control most of the time on this fellow...every thing went where it was supposed to go and cleanly. I was inspired most of the time here. And, i learned a bit too, about treating a whole section to overall glazing instead of once piece at a time....dih...as seen on the boots....enough blabber....maybe theres a something i could add here or there, but im calling him done.
