This looks better every time I see it. I am still waiting to see what the finished product will be. I bet it'll be amazing.

Your rivet work so far is enough for my endorsement Nerd!

The windows are just a piece of old inkjet overhead transparency film I had stashed away for years. Just cut to shape, then marked out individual panes for removal. Ultimately when you do something like that, and then glue it to the frame; it doesn't line up with the chicken wire frame squares, so then I just take the knife to it and hack any overlapping plastic, this then becomes the broken glass sections. I'll paint random panes still to give this look:

The 1/4" chicken wire is supposed to represent this type of industrial window.

@Weety, thanks! Plenty of weathering still to come. I want some of the graffiti to look older and more faded, and some to look newer/fresher, and to do that, it takes patience and lots of drying time.

You'll notice the shade in the mortar lines is darker in the last pics, from last night's final light coat of Didi's magic brown ink, this is still just the beginning. Weathering brick takes a lot more stages than weathering a tank or airplane does to make it look right.

@Ramos: you'll see more variations in the brick colors from here on out You should ALWAYS weather light to dark.

Well, I have to say I am getting an urge to build factories myself now, however I will happily settle for being named on the side of one

I really am thinking I might invest in a couple of these kits myself, they have a lot of potential

Found these and thought they might be of some interest

Wow, that's a really awesome idea

So, are you going to create more brickwork buildings? The idea is fantastic.

Looking awesome!

EDIT: How do those kits you just posted compare scale wise to 40k?

Well, you need to get O scale 1:48 and then they are perfect. Z, N, and HO scales are too small for anything 40k (Z scale might work for Epic Armageddon, but not my thing, so I dunno)

Glad you all like them I was looking at those modules after you mentioned them before Dave, they have a lot of potential but also allowing a lot of scope for conversion work

nerdfest09 I liked the look of that one a lot as well, hazard stripes seen them somewhere before

The window looks great in the pic. Though I wonder how it looks from a steeper angle. Been sitting here staring at the pic thinking about some way to get the wire closer to the pane. So far I can't think of anything that isn't too fiddly. :\

I like all the tags too. You should go for a bigger "mural" piece on one of the more hidden walls. (or some up around the roof, like they were hanging over the side tagging)

Also, those on-site pics are awesome! Good finds and thanks for sharing to you both. I especially like how decorative the second to last one (in the first post) looks up at the top... at least, I think those are decorations... embellishments at any rate.

Thanks Green! It's glued directly to the chickenwire, where do you see a gap?

The big 3-tiered steam turbine? I zoomed in, I think they are just rusty rivets, which to my eye, is a beautiful embellishment

Moar windows and washes. Finally almost maybe able to glue it all to the base.
Do you like the window panes better with a little concrete wash airbrushed in the centers?

a thought has crossed my mind... you need trash cans... lots of them... and maybe one with that cool clear resin flame of zinge... that you could upgrade then with a lil led inside for that flame effect... to spice up the base of that cool looking building...

the new kits look very promising.... those widow arches in particular...

and... thank the lords... that this building has enough space on the walls for all your friends names

oh and nery... an =]_= on your skin... now that would be epic...and the rather thin call for membership by dave i can only encourage
