The winged freak look ace the way the legs are posed makes it look even more threatening cant wait to see the finished look.
The meat cleaver guy looks bad ass and very feral, slice and dice you then eat your face type.

@ Lone dirty dog thanks for the kind words. May do some painting on them today. As for the feet on the winged geek it was just luck, it the natural pose of the ghoul legs I just straightened the feet. The kit works really well for this, I have seen some amazing fell bats made using this exact build

Yes, I think I might borrow the feral bat idea if you don't mind of course, I have a blade IG lookalike mini made and I want something to face him on a diorama.
Think this might work nicely evolved vampire race great work keep it coming so I can steal it ………. I mean admire your work LOL

@LDD sounds cool! Make sure you post some pics when you are done!
Steal anything you like, none of my ideas are original anyway.
I very rarely paint and it is the part of the hobby that I have least experience in. This reflects in the fact that after well over a decade in the hobby I have never owned a fully painted army or for that matter gang. Well it's a new me so things are going to change. I now own adult items of hobby gear like paint stations and carry cases so I damn well am going to have some painted miniatures. Still WIP, I need to sort out his skin and what exactly I am going to do with his scales, at the moment they are a mess. But in other areas he is getting there
Stretch, my Scaly
Hope you enjoy, I'm off its way past my bed time.
Nathanie1 out.

Rust work has turned out well especially on the axe and pad I also like the rusty base with the shiny rivets
Purple scales and the pale skin tone works nicely and complements the colour pallet well.

Cheers Skalk, I had to look up a tutorial on it having never painted it before. I am pondering repainting it actually as green witchfire but I was quite chuffed with my first proper go.

Wow.
Try the witchfire, but honestly I think what you have is already wicked awesome and it also fits into the 'fluffy' bits of the Underhive. I can see a lot of fire, but not so much magic / psychic / etc whatever stuff you call it in 40K.

HAHA Skalk and Viktor you are both too kind. Vik I think I can count the number of minis I have completed on two hands but I have an Arts background so I think this gives me an advantage when it comes to things like composition and pallet.
Its interesting I was discussing this just the other day. A friend of mine is a graphic designer, he popped over a couple of months back and saw a space ork sitting on my dresser. He was intrigued so I gave him a couple of minis to paint. He lives back in my home town so when I was back seeing the folks last week I popped over and he showed me his first effort at miniature painting, they looked beautiful and its the first time he has ever picked up a brush in this context.
Another great example is San76 on this forum, check out his Imperial Fists they are absolutely immense. What boggles my mind is that he states at the beginning of the thread that he is completely new to painting. proper raw talent.

oh my.... i had a look at his gallery... very good looking yellow...to pick such a color for your ever first brush works and succeed in this remarkable way...
that dry look of his minis is what i really like....and the brightness... something i still havent come to...
but I have an Arts background so I think this gives me an advantage when it comes to things like composition and pallet.
yes.... that sure counts a lot

Cheers LDD. I am really pleased with the way he has turned out, especially the hand around the gun which i sculpted but did not know how it would look until I got paint on it.
The only problem is that he is truly a heroic scale, looks more like a 35 mm mini, especially with a big chunky zombie head. I will rebase him when my order from maximin arrives as his chunky base is doing no favours either

Thank you bro, you should start another thread and show me how its really done Automatically Appended Next Post: Hey guys, I tried to be a bit cleaner with my painting today and I think it paid dividends. I still struggle to highlight cloth, especially red cloth, it is the only part of the model I'm not happy with.
I have particularly enjoyed experimenting with rust, another first for me, and was pleased with how the chopper turned out. I simplified what I was doing down and the effect is slightly clearer.
As always all thoughts, criticisms welcome

Cheers vic, I was going to paint it green but could only find a mustardy yellow, in the end I was really glad with the result and think I might use it for all my gas mask miniatures.

Yes I agree although they are a different gang. My main worry with the Scavvy gang is finding a way to tie them all in together, even though they all have different mutations they need to look like they belong as a group. I painted this guy this morning using a different pallet, I tried to use yellow on his optics as a spot colour to tie him to the last mini but it really didn't work so I gave in and matched the colour to the mini.
I am not overly pleased with the finish. This was my favourite mini I put together last week but I found it difficult to paint. Large areas like skin and cloaks still stump me somewhat but the only way to get better is to try over and over. The paint job is thin so I can come back and paint over if it really bothers me.

gun looks amazing... rust really is something that you have the right nack of...
the skin color i am not too sure about too...the pink/purple hint here i think ... maybe if you sell it with a bit of fluff so we can better understand your thoughts behind that gang?...

Hey Vic, Well was kind of thinking of this guy as a construct, his body is so contorted and wracked that it seemed strange to have him as just a mutant. I left the hole in the back of the skull to represent how he may have originally been killed/ injured to end up on the Doctors table for "repurposing". As for thr colour pallet I just wanted to play with something different, I agree I am not entirely sold on the purple but I wanted to make him different from the ganger before, more alien and odd.
