Got my collectors edition! The boxes (both the big white box and the metal box) are awesome but the statue is kinda crappy quality, lots of mould lines and a dodgey paint job (following the cover everything in wash school of painting)..

Did a big download this morning, will keep checking each day leading up to launch.

Theres heaps of videos on youtube about it, or you can just skim over the gw2 website also, will give you a good idea of what its like.

Originally it was going to be a Ranger without question, now not so sure, Elementalist was way too much fun in beta.

Probably knock around with both in the first couple of weeks and see which one drags forward the quickest and run with it.

Ill be rolling a Norn Elementalist. Tis a fun class to play.

Yeah I'll be doing that. My wow account has names like Annmarie, Katrana and so on, as I was there the week after it launched. (Was a new TBC server.)

Ah right, you're a DCM, you wouldn't have read the thread.

Suffice it to say, it's being fixed of various problems caused by a rather insidious virus. Namely, a brand new hard drive was put in, the old one junked, windows 7 ultimate and some new anti-virus stuff was installed on that, several hardware driver errors were fixed (And one is still being fixed), amongst other things... what's causing the final delay is that he's waiting for a part, a new DVD burner since my old one seems completely unwilling to work even with a developer's kit.

That sucks.

The Desolation is the most popular EU server at the moment, this has its ups and its downs. Events should run smoothly and trade won't be an issue but it will likely be less satisfying when you find those secret areas.

But in all seriousness that does suck. My PC had issues a month or so back. After spending six months trying to figure out why it was turning itself off, I finally just decide to start replacing parts till the problem goes away. New power supply, problem solved... After replacing the hard drive and the motherboard. Meh. Solved so w/e. Never had a virus that bad, but my sister did. I had to replace the processor cause it melted from whatever the damn thing was doing.

Never played the first game so I really have no idea what I'm getting myself into. Playing with RL friends though so at least I have some backup.

My back-up PC seems to be suffering the same symptoms as my first one and is starting to die on me just in time for GW2.

It's likely that my PC will die very soon, so I'm not sure I'll be able to even participate in GW2 until I get a new PC.

Still about 7hrs to go, should be home from work just after the game is open.

I'll probably be starting with a human Mesmer or Thief depending on what my friend decides to roll first.

I also have to get up at 3am to make my characters and grab some names.

In the meantime I'm bliztkrieging through a bunch of models because I know I'm not gonna get any painting or modelling done after GW2 comes out, though when the new Chaos guys roll around that might change...

Spent the last few hours with a friend blitzing the Hall of Monuments, went from 17 to 22 points in about 8 hours.

I now have 3 elite weapons, a unique mini-pet and a set of elite armour that I will never actually use in Guild Wars 1

The servers could go live anywhere between 4am GMT (8 minutes from this post) and 7am GMT so keep trying people!
