I'm liking the game myself. I'm over on bolias pass I think it's called. I'm a little courious has anyone else heard anything about a lot of people getting banned this soon? Been hearing a few things I just don't want to make a mistake on accident and get scooped up with the riffraff.
I've heard a lot about people being both temporary and perma banned for things that are treated far more severely than they should be.
For what it's worth, I've heard about the Norn karma merchant issue, and honestly, it's Anet's fault for listing the price that way.
Honestly, I haven't used public chat much (just talk with a friend on Skype), but I'm kind of scared to do much in this game because I really don't want to get banned. For example, you'd think that a language filter would be enough to mitigate a lot of the issues with course language bannings, but still people are being reported for that. What's more, people get some pretty heavy bans without much, if any warning.
Perhaps it's just a symptom of the "buy to play" model that GW2 is using, but I feel that Anet is being far too strict, and walking a very thin line between moderating its community to foster positive growth, and actively looking to punish players as harshly as possible.
If all this talk about unjust bannings is legitimate, I'm hoping that it's just the growing pains of its launch, and dies down shortly.
Well honestly, you really oughtn't to be using 'Harsh Language' on public chat anyways. Might be fine in Team chat, or on Skype, with friends, but GW is one of those series that may very well have a young, young audience playing- not to mention folks like me, who just don't appreciate an Fbomb every other word. And there's enough ways around a Language filter that still keep the meaning and even spelling of a word clear that that's not really a solution.

I haven't heard anything about bans outside of this forum.

Don't people know that breaking the ToS they agreed to is Anet's fault?
I also take a lot of these complaints with a grain of salt as they tend to have less then solid sourcing. Often they start from someone on 4chan (where I have seen these things said at almost every major launch the last few years) or reddit, and in the end it is either just a story or only half the story told to make the banned player look good.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
They offered people that clearly broke the ToS a chance to fix their permaban by saying sorry and deleting their ill-gotten items/gold, I think that's pretty lenient to be honest.
Crafting in GW2 is pretty awesome. The focus on discovery helps take away much of the grind.

Is the poster above me high or something, or perhaps playing the wrong game?

Not sure.
I just think Charr are socially progressed Beastmen that broke away from the Chaos Gods, kind of like how the Orcs broke away from savagery with Obould in the Drizzt novels.
I play a Human Engineer as a...Human Engineer, in Warhammer Fantasy Terms under the garb of Middenheim. If I ever find canon source material for the old colors of the Drakwald province, I'll use that.
My Salad Elementalist who I've grown tired of is bald and is indistinguishable from a Drow Elf from Forgotten Realms. My buddy literally asked me in-game "dude what race is that I thought you were a salad"
I'll probably stop playing my Elementalist as I really don't like the class. I like a much more traditional Wizard, just can't get into the changing spells all the time. Looking at Necromancer right now and they look to be more of a Lich than a Warlock, per se.
Imagination is a powerful thing.

The Charr never really had gods, they attempted to worship the titans and then destroyers but both of them were greater demons at very best.
Hit level twenty, and I am one vista away from 100% in caledon forest woo.
The only questI couldn't complete was killing a champion troll.... fffffffffuck that guy is strong. he one-shotted a group of three one by one x.x and I'm a warrior in heavy armor and a higher level than him, too.

Not a glitch. Mobs just hit ridiculously hard in GW2. I'd consider it somewhat of a design flaw, but Anet's method of breaking the "tanking" element of the "holy trinity" is by making tanking essentially impossible through incredibly powerful enemies. It's not such a huge issue for normal enemies, but it really shows in champion and boss enemies. High risk, not appropriately high reward.

Tanking is also impossible due to the fact there is no designated "healer" class.

What are you using in your 6 slot? Healing Signet is stupid powerful for a Warrior at low levels.

Not really. The proper party and skill setup should allow for some decently powerful healing to be thrown around. The only real difference is that it may not all be coming from one place. The real problem is just that the spike damage from most mobs is just way too high to actually tank it.
Anet can claim to destroy the trinity but they haven't. They've just decentralized it. Though I disagree about healing. Specialized for it, Mesmers, Warriors, and Guardians can put out a lot of healing (in the case of a warrior you can do it without a drastic loss in damage too) and maybe Ele's. More than enough healing to be called a healer.
Also as Fafnir said, tanking takes more than 1 meat shield. Some damage just goes to high for a single health pool to take over and over with the CD's. You need at least two and some AoE heals. A party has to switch between them (but then unless you've been spoiled by years of WoW this was a fairly standard thing in older MMO's dealing with large bosses).
