I was taking that into consideration, and IIRC, the Exorcist is only ~3.5" tall. Well short of the FoR. About the only place one might be able to get LoS would be the walkways, but how the FoR fits together, I seriously doubt I could get three Exorcists, let alone six, in that area.

I have won my first few games with sisters.

I'm still testing scouting Doms with Meltas in TL MM Immos.

Is it best to put the Seraphim Squad w/ Celestine (2x 2 Hand Flamers) in reserve for Deep Strike or "Jump" them across the table? I have enough models to either run 2 Dom Squads + Seraphim or 2x Seras and 1 Dom.

Trying out Uriah with a battle conclave. I don't like the stand and be shot moment when they dump from their Rhino, but 1 Crusader, 1 DCA, and Uriah murdered some Tau units before they fell (and took all of the Tau's shooting to whipe out the other 8 models!).

I need to build my conversions for HB retributors, fill out my Seraphim (lacking Sups), and make some more melta sisters (lacking 1 for the two doms... proxy a flamer).

Finally, I found some used sisters... paid $8 for some terribly painted sisters, but 2 bolters, 1 flamer, 1 melta, and 1 MM sister for that cheap COMBINED?! Yea, sold. Also got my third Penitent Engine for $14, complete. Now I can try the full squadron.

I prefer deep striking my Seraphim, though I run two squads so I tend to have some redundancy in case of a bad scatter. I always play them with a little more risk than usual, so YMMV on that account.

As far as the issue you've had about vulnerability after a squad jumps out of the Rhino, here's a little trick I've been using to good effect in protecting my shooting squads for a turn:

Move the Rhino 6 and angle it so that it is something like (with the rhino angle indicated by the \ \):

(target)

(sisters) \ Rhino \

Sister squad opens fire on the target in the shooting phase.

Flat out the Rhino to form a block in front of the disembarked squad. As far as I can tell, this is legal, unless vehicles cannot Flat Out after disembarking?

Good call. My situation arose when I moved 12 + 6 with my Battle Conclave Rhino to put it in the Tau's lines. That's been my first fight using it, Tau. I did the same with all of my BSS, too, as I felt trying to play a "gun" game versus Tau was a losing proposition. Turns out, having all those Sisters in his face (2x Doms, 3x BSS, 1x BC + Uriah) really made him sweat. Then an added Seraphim + Celestine that DS in the bottom of a building (blocked line of site from the intercepting riptide!) just crushed it from there. My Exorcists and Retributors were never touched! (except a few plinks off the FA13)

It was a perfect storm for me, but it's only a first time against Tau and I think it was his first time with the new dex. It was a bloodbath, though. We both were almost dead, myself winning barely by a few VPs (it was about 12~9 in my favor).

I found that adding searchlights to my MM Immos was a real game changer as I lit up a squad of Crisis Suits + Commander first turn after they scouted and that allowed my Exorcists to do their job and denying a wicked a cover save. Not sure if that's how others run them, but I love the searchlights on Immos!

I've never had much luck deep striking the Seraphim in but have had a lot of success "jumping" them across the table with the saint leading the way.

Same here. Jumping the unit across the table may cost you a few models from incoming fire (people start shooting them after they remember the last time the Seraphim wiped out 20+ models in one shooting phase). It's just that the clustered formation after deepstriking into enemy lines will cost you a lot more. When you jump across the table you can always try using terrain to your advantage, DS into the enemy deployment zone might not leave as many options.

Besides, every turn they shoot at Celestine and the Seraphim is a turn they're not shooting up my precious scoring units.

Funny how we've already had the discussion about deep strike VS starting on table about 30 pages ago and it's coming back full circle.

At the risk of repeating myself however it all depends on how good the person you are playing is and what their list is.

I've played a guy who plays space marines and knows how nasty that unit is. She's never lived beyond turn two against him. Either he will drop a drop pod with stern guards loaded with flamers on that squad or will use 2 thunderfire cannons. Wounds pile up quickly, seraphims will nearly all die and Celestine is usually left quite weak if not dead herself.

Yes they can absorb a lot of fire before going down, but losing Celestine and your entire seraphims squad is a huge blow to your army (they can usually get you linebreaker and contest an objective if alive) and while she can come back on a 4+, those 1, 2 and 3 will ruin your day when you only get a chance every turn. I've played plenty of games where Celestine died turn 1 or 2 and never came back.

There are times when deep striking is a better option and if you're afraid of that 3+ messing you up, you can always grab a defense line with the comm relay to help alleviate this. It will help for any dominions you may have outflanking as well.

In the end it all depends on who you are playing and how "competitive" you want to be.

Did anyone see the rumor (or even mention) for SoB on Faeit before it was shut down? Posted on April 5th. I don't remember it, even though I followed the blog.

Here's a link to a blog that linked it, but Google took down Faeit before the wayback machine could archive it.

Yeah, it was pretty unlikely. If you check News and Rumors, you'll see it somewhere. I could dig it up if you really wanted.

This is what I was able to find:

"All taken from Faeit 212 Rumors - Inquisition Codex, Sisters of Battle, Blood Angels, and Space Wolves

This is a very cool rumor, that not only discusses Blood Angels and Space Wolves, but goes right into dealing with a very sensitive subject, the Sisters of Battle.
The idea of Inquisitors able to replace an Imperial Guard HQ .

Please remember that this is a rumor, and on this one, please add some extra salt.

via an Anonymous Source

Wolves early / middle 2014, Inquisition fall / end 2014, Blood Angels fall / end 2015.
Not many releases for Wolves, just specific flyer variants.
Finecast big predator wolf.
Wulven units included.
They also get almost all Marine releases till then, apart of flyers.
Inquisition all three ordos, two different armies (grey knights and sororitas). Inquisitors can replace IG HQs.
Blood Angels on early re-design."

Next year isn't unreasonable tbh.

Blood Angels got a full Codex 3 years after getting a White Dwarf codex, and 2014 was the predicted year for Sisters anyway.

It's been next year for the last 10-15 years. Twice, it was right.

And we have faith that it will be again.

Multi-part plastic sisters have too much potential as models not to come out some day soonish. Even if they're only around to provide mr ward with tiny snuff porn, he'll still want it, right?

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

Even a broken watch is right twice a day. "Next year," really might be next year, if GW keeps their unofficial promise not to Squat another army.

Eh on the plus side it makes my promise to never buy anything new from GW ever again, UNLESS they update the Sisters of Battle, really easy to keep as I put the finishing touches on my Space Marines

I dread a new codex .... our White Dwarf fix hasnt completely ruined my army. A new codex gives them the chance to fix all the problems that dont exist for the sake of them making more $$.

Exorcists will be either nerfed to hell or go up 100 points in cost. God knows what they will do to our beloved saint. Our SoB squads will probably cost more then a SM Tac Squad with no improvments. Hell they may even lower their BS to make them more inline with a guardsmen.

The last "Update" we got saw all of our special weapons disappear and many of our most useful powers taken away to be replaced with cheap imitations. We no longer control how many Faith Points we have at any point.

You know exorcists have only gotten better and cheaper for te last 10-12 years, right? And we've had the WD codex discussion a million times. Lets wait to complain about the new sisters dex when it actually comes out instead of complaining about possibilities.

I do believe its been true, partially responsible for the continued existence of sisters at all. The reasonable number of murders that would be committed in nottingham if they were squatted also helps, I suspect, but its a facto.

Okay, so just for funsies I started working on a new unit for my SOB, an avenger strike fighter. I didn't want to go forgeworld though, so picked up the new DA flyer.

Here's some pics:
Spoiler:

The pilot is an immolator pilot with Guardian Jetbike legs and a backpack (to bulk her). Had to shave off the DA icons on the lower tail flap and the bottom of the missile pods. Put the Rhino door icons on the bottom of the missile pods (not shown) to cover the shaving there. Haven't done anything to the lower tail flap yet. The cherub tail-gunner is to rep the defensive stubber with rear arc.

Here's the original from FW's site:
Spoiler:

From a counts-as standpoint, I think I'm doing pretty okay. Weapons are largely in the same place. Lascannons are a bit wider out but still fixed forward. Magnetized cherub has a better arc, so I will have to play it straight back. I need to find someone who has an Avenger locally to compare to for size and such, but I'm pretty happy with it. Now to paint!

Looking at the pictures, if you cut the wingtips off the Avenger just on the other side of the engines, and the tail off just before the rear fins, it'd be about the same size as your model.
A little shorter and thinner, and a little taller / fatter.

Ultimately, it's probably close enough as to make no difference I think.
