Normal SD would be between 7 and 12 meters.
SSD around 70 meters.
And Eclipse in the 100+ range.

Imperial Shuttles and Fury Sith Shuttle definitly would match the big class of X-Wing ships.

The Lambda-class shuttle would most likely be a medium-sized ship in this scale. The GR-75 transport is the smallest "large" ship from the OT that I can think of and in this scale it would still be over 1' long.

Don't know if this has been posted, did a skim and couldn't see it but totalwargamer.co.uk has put up dates it reckons it will be released under the product:

http://www.totalwargamer.co.uk/x-wing.html

I do hope that's true as it isn't too far away

Also it is the cheapest UK stockist I have seen so I will be buying 2 starters a TIE advanced and a Y-wing, roll on friday! (PAYDAY!)

Hi Scotti,

we are upping our orders with the Distro almost daily as the entire world is going mental for X-Wing it seems.

If you order from us or not I would suggest to order it a soon as you can as the first batch is likely to be sold out very soon.

I was always a big fan of the A-Wing fighter, especially the descriptions of how it was something only the best pilots could make optimum use of. A cockpit strapped between two huge motors with guns tacked on.

Since we got organized play for Dust Tactics over here in Germany I would assume that X-Wing will also get some in the UK, since it appeals to an even bigger crowd than Dust.

If anyone can get me an image is sufficiently high quality of a section of the gaming board seen in the gencon video, I could try to get a board printed on canvas at work.

It would be pricey, mind you, my cost would be around 80$ for a 3' X 3', but still, it could look great.

Not THE tiles you're looking for, but I found these poking around. Someone made these for "star wars in my pocket":

This is that user's (curufea) work so you may want to ask first.

Even better, as the images can be spliced and matched, as well as adding details in photoshop.

I'll have to give it a go tomorrow, if it ain't too busy during the ANNUAL SALE EXTRAVAGAZA our commerce society decided HAD to coincide with the weekend everyone gets out of the city.

Like I said, might want to ask Curufea or ConraDargo before you mass produce these for sale or something. From reading this old post, ConraDargo appears to have designed the mini-game and those are his tiles...

Oh, of course, I thought they were creative commons since available at that level of detail. I wasn't about to mass produce them, as you can see from the price they cost me, anyway.

yeah,
Starwars dice app launches for smart phones... £2.99 /$4.99

To sum up, the Star Wars Dice app:
•Includes a comprehensive dice roller that can be used to roll X-Wing custom dice, Star Wars RPG custom dice, or standard polyhedral dice in seven types
•Features a “preset” option, allowing you to save your most commonly used configurations
•Includes eight iconic Star Wars backgrounds and six distinct sound packs
•Allows you to jump right in with an intuitive radial menu and interactive help guide

I'm not sure what to make of these. rolling real dice is a part of the fun.
Might get this just because I'm soo excited about the game and I want to throw dice!! That and it has sound effects...

I've not bought it yet because of the price... if it was standard 69p app I'd have already bought it.

But I'm Interested in the standard dice also available.I wonder if it can roll say 9white & 1red D6 dice so it has purpose in 40k?

This is pretty standard for FFG. I have the Warhammer Fantasy RPG dice app and it was $2.99. The IP licensing fees are likely pretty high when it comes to the Star Wars franchise, hence the price hike....Same reason Star Wars themed LEGO tends to run 10 to 25% more than comparable non-license-based sets.

Having said that, each specialty dice pack for Warhammer Fantasy RPG, runs about 12 bucks, and you tend to need more than one pack to have enough dice to make a complex dice pool....take that into account (I'm assuming X-Wing will have a similar mechanic and pricing) and the app is actually a great deal.

All right. I dropped $100 and got into this game. I guess everything's on pre order from regular retailers? When's it release? So, I got 2 of the box sets, one TIE Advanced, one TIE Fighter, and 3 Y Wings. I wasn't able to get an X Wing expansion, they were out of them. That ought to be good for now.

Thanks to Manchu for showing me that vid a couple of pages back. In lieu of a true demo, it did whet my whistle a bit. Finding stuff on the cheap was what broke it open for me.

I take it FFG has forums of their own supporting this game?

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

The rumoured dates I have seen are the 23rd or the 24th. Even seen the 17th (September this is) but I doubt it.

Shame about no X-Wing booster though, no Wedge :( but a Y-Wing squadron is pretty awesome!
