All right. I dropped $100 and got into this game. I guess everything's on pre order from regular retailers? When's it release? So, I got 2 of the box sets, one TIE Advanced, one TIE Fighter, and 3 Y Wings. I wasn't able to get an X Wing expansion, they were out of them. That ought to be good for now.

Thanks to Manchu for showing me that vid a couple of pages back. In lieu of a true demo, it did whet my whistle a bit. Finding stuff on the cheap was what broke it open for me.

I take it FFG has forums of their own supporting this game?

Seems like MiniatureMarket still has X-wing expansion packs.

Thanks Coyotius, I think I'm going to get an X Wing and another TIE Advanced. I just got to figure out what else of theirs I wan't to make the free shipping marker. Unlucky, I usually shop them first!!

I'm very excited to get this game. I'm particularly impressed with the low price-point.

You must be accustomed to games like 40k. $15 for a single minis isnt a low price point at all, actually its a bit high, on par with metal Battletech minis. However, the overall investment needed to play the game is acceptable.

Ill pick up a TIE and X-Wing for the collection, but they are far from my favorites, Ill be waiting for other ships before getting too excited. I dont know if Ill ever play the game, but as a Star Wars fan the minis will be a must have.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing

Yep, 40k player here, but I was referring to the overall cost/value. I can see getting a lot of gaming out of a relatively small investment. 2 core sets and a TIE Intercepter cost less than a 40k battleforce and you have enough customization for a heck of a lot of gaming time.

yeah,
I received my 2x 40k Dark Vengeance from Total Wargamer for £105 incuding delivery (cheap!).
I had a bit of trouble with royal mail holding the item.
I've seen threads about people not getting their Dark Vengeance from other online stores despite preordering, and I got a bit worried.

So I've placed my X-Wing order with them. I've been hearing rumours that stock of Xwing is tight, I hope Total Wargamer gets the stock.
They seem like the cheapest online store right now and I have no reason not to order via them.

2x X-Wing Miniatures Game
2x TIE Advanced Expansion Pack
2x TIE Fighter Expansion Pack
2x X-Wing Expansion Pack
2x Y-Wing Expansion Pack

Subtotal: £124.70
Shipping cost: £7.99
Total: £132.69

Boom!
Can't wait!

Do they have any release schedule for any other ships? I saw they had pictures of Slave I and the Millenium Falcon at some con. No release dates on em? I'd really like to see a B-Wing......B's and Y's hold a special place in my heart. And I'm a sucker for stuff being in scale with eachother.

They didn't say anything about a release date for the Falcon or other expansions at the GenCon In-Flight Report that I heard. Just that they were coming out, and I took copious notes.

Presuming that ain't one of everything otherwise that is darn expensive!

My order is 'awaiting stock' at wayland so as soon as it hits 'pre-order' status I know that they have finally received it

Also for the information of all Yorkshire peoples watching this thread, I spoke to the folks of travelling man York and they are stocking it! Huzzah! We have a local shop stocking it and also there seems to be quite a few people interested in playing, so ask around!

Cool, that means it should hit my FLGS hopefully this weekend as well. Have you ordered from CCGArmory in the past? I've heard some bad reports about lengthy refunds and long wait times with them.

Nice, be sure to let us know stock is starting to hit UK retailers! I will do like wise if I hear anything from Total Wargamer.

Bingo.

4x X-Wing
2x Y-Wing
6x Tie Fighter
2x Tie Advanced

plus 6 Red dice and 6 Green
2 sets of core set x-wing and tie fighters pilots
2 sets of each X-Wing/Y-Wing/TieAdvanced/TieFighter booster 'character' pilots

Now all I have to do is find a good star field map

In my case, I decided not to go for the Hotz mat after all. (I changed my order to a dirt planet mat so I could work on my Aliens-inspired skirmish game.) I think the best thing to do for these smaller games is to make one out of foam board.

yeah,
been searching the web for cool deathstar surface photos that could be printed out.

I found these surface tiles...http://www.triliance.de/deathstar_panels/deathstar_panels.html
cool for dioramas but too expensive to cover a 3'x3' 4'x4' or 6'x4' surface
Spoiler:

I also found this page, it looks like a perfect product.. but the link on the page to the product doesn't work :(
