typical someone said something stupid and was a hyperbole. and it avalanched to more stupid hyperbole things.

you know, like many comments on the internet. that's pretty much what I got out of it.

I feel like flooding the comments section of RK or Fallen Frontiers with obvious facts.

Got mine in, and so far I THINK everything is there, except possibly a metal replacement for Calico Kate. Was she supposed to get one of the less-fanservicey alternate poses? I was never able to find out where the information on the alternate poses came from.

Calico Kate, One Shot and Princess Malya all got alternative 'battle poses' added during the KS

One Shot and Princess Malya ended up as metal minis sent in a separate blisers

Calico Kate's battle pose was apparently done in pvc (I guess there was space on her tool?) so should be in the Relic Knight box along with everything else... I've not seen photos of this one just passing on what some had been saying online)

Wow, seeing the two materials together on one model really makes you appreciate the sharpness of HIPS. The PVC legs look like they're made of play doh in comparison.
PVC definitely has less detail than HIPS, but I've noticed that when it's unprimed, it looks particularly bad. I think the material is slightly translucent, which makes small elements particularly hard to see? I often miss bits of mold lines and only see them once the PVC is primed.

Calico Kate has both poses in the box set and 2 sets of arms for her mech. I think the 1 set of arms is meant to hold Calico Kate up since it has an open hand, and the other set of arms is the sword and bomb. I would post pictures, but my camera is giving me some grief.

Agree here, priming brings out every little missed mold line.

Agreed and exalted. PVC has some strengths but not nearly as many as its drawbacks. Still, I am impressed with the quality they squeezed out of the stuff for the best of the RK models. At least mold line placement is not as bad as those first warmachine plastics.

I'd recommend anyone who assembles their RK models to double check them after priming and keep some brush-on primer ready for the few spots of last-minute mold line removal.

I thought the SDE figures turned out great and just need a little cleanup. The only problem I can see if Kasaro To's back-banner is bent and feels like it will break off, but that's nothing I can't re-work.

Man am I disappointed in Malya. I wanted that figure since I saw it a few years ago.

Her face is terrible, just terrible. There was a huge mold line on the goggles- I have no way to know what they're supposed to look like so I carved them down to as close to symmetrical as I could. After seeing the pic zoomed in I'll need to revisit that And check out the Pit Crew!!! This is after priming.

Gallery image is larger.

I'm 'okay' with the Kickstarter prices but there no way I'd pay $40-50 for a figure like that.

That's my problem with the line too - no way are these worth the rather high price tags on many of the models.

That's also my fear - I want this game to not only survive, but thrive.

Not so sure it can at those prices - but we'll see where they end up at 'retail' as well...

I'm curious as to the pricing also. The current assumption is that it's done for parity with existing metal stock. But with the figures as they are now, metal characters are probably the better option - and this is coming from someone that prefers plastic.

The tragedy of Relic Knights is that it probably needs another kickstarter to get it to where it needs to be in terms of model quality. I don't see that happening or succeeding any time soon. In fact, I'm not sure what improvements SPM can make to existing RK figures. Would changing the formula help? Are the molds themselves lacking? I have to believe some are, especially as many of the current restic figures have inherited the old sculpts when what they really needed (but SPM couldn't afford?) were new sculpts/molds made with the chosen medium in mind.

By the grace of He on Terra! Hopefully, Relic Knights sticks around long enough to enjoy good, if not great, success and they update/rework the line over time the way Infinity seems to be doing.

You can always use the figs for infinity counts as models. The cheesecake butt poses might be a bit extreme even for CB but they're not totally out of character.

Good lord! Is the metal 'alternate pose' for Malya any better? I actually quite liked the default one, but more than happy to just use one that has a face!

It is. She's sitting on top of her Relic right now. I prefer the metal battle poses to the stock anyway.

Got my order today - quite happy with the SDE minis quality-wise too. They seem a step up from Von-Drakk (which were imo, a step up from Roxxor - though Roxxor was a step down from the core set).

Still not a fan of Kasaro To's tiny tiny head though. Hopefully someone will come up with a good, easy conversion I can steal.

His box kinda makes his look make sense. Apparently SDE is a video game in the Relic Knights universe and all the Knights are willing players in the game, except Kasaro. Apparently Noh has hacked him into the game to fight others leaving his avatar odd and misshapen compared to the others.

In other words, a sculpt so poor they needed to make up fluff to justify it.

Not a poor sculpt at all to me, but I'm generally in the minority on most things I like. Plus I kinda wanna try to paint him glitchy. Just not sure how to do that yet.

SDE Kassaro is not a poor sculpt but the variation they used was certainly my least favorite of the three concepts we saw. That was a designer fail rather than a sculptor fail. Either that or it was a profound sculptor fail they somehow let slip through several phases of per-production. He falls short of his cool concept art. That is for sure.

Other than his oddly tiny head - he's really not misshapen or gltchy at all though. And I read that fluff on the box - it doesn't really mention anything about him being glitchy or anything. I don't think they were trying to justify anything really.

I was thinking maybe a big Oni mask or something would make him look better. But it's certainly beyond my ability to sculpt.

It says they corrupted the SDE code to allow him into the game. So it would seem he's been hacked in implying that his look might not match the game to me that means he's glitchy and probably doesn't work right. But whatever I like his sculpt and the comical implications of his comparatively odd looks to the rest of the cast. Actually now that you mention it, I don't think I'll paint him anime style at all but just unmatchingly realistic.

An update from Deke - not good news for EU/APAC still hasn't left the factory in China (well not by plane at any rate ) read on ....

Will the missing Hells Bells torso issue be resolved for retail release?

Yes. We have replacement torsos for the Hell's Belles and replacement Valerias (note Valeria has a twisted foot issue) on their way to Soda Pop right now. We will be taking care of replacements for all of you personally to make sure you all get your items.

Will there be an online release of assembly instructions?

Once we have the models I will do assembly videos as I assemble them!

@Deke - can you push CMoN for a status update of where the are in terms of # backers shipped / # backers remaining?

CMoN has recently told us that all US shipping to backers has been completed. For the rest of the world there was an error in the packages that were prepped to go out to those warehouses and China is in the process of fixing the error and then shipping will begin. We are reaching out for more updates and I will, of course, relay any information I receive to you as soon as I hear it.

Question regarding the Webstore. When do you anticipate the ability to begin taking orders, or even pre-orders, for the KS miniatures, as well as those that were not available as KS models, Sophia as an example?

Here is the plan for webstore sales: Thanks to the Forgotten King Kickstarter we are securing several warehousing and shipping options around the world: Canada, UK, and Australia. This will allow us to have significantly cheaper shipping to anyone outside of the US as well as preventing many of you from having to pay VAT fees from the US. We are just finalizing all of the details to get those set up and then will be sending stock to those warehouses to allow for localized shipping. We are currently in the process of adjusting our webstore shipping prices accordingly.

So what does that mean for RK web orders? We will be accepting Relic Knights web orders soon. Since US backers' shipping has completed we will be shipping those orders out ASAP. International orders will be pre-orders and will ship once product arrives to the new international warehouses, which will be after the Kickstarter fulfillment for those areas has already happened.

Relic Knights is due to release Thursday, but I believe it was said in the past that the game will not release before all backer pledges were shipped. Is this still true and if so, how likely will it be for CMON to finish shipping the pledges before then? How will another delay (if that is what is decided) impact your plans for Relic Knights?

All US pledges have been shipped and we pushed back our June date to July based on estimates we were given for shipping to be complete. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Rest of World pledges will be done shipping as anticipated. At this point we feel we cannot push back the retail launch again, as anytime we do it impacts distributors' and retailers' plans. So the only delay that might come to the July 10 date is any caused by the holiday weekend in getting the trucks to distributors.

Should all late backers have received their store credit at this point? I haven't so I was just wondering.

Yes. If you have not contact Nick at store@sodapopminiatures.com and he will get you taken care of.

In regards to Valeria's foot ....that was a rather odd issue with casting. Replacement parts have been made and are on their way to Soda Pop from China right now. Soda Pop will then be sending out corrected Valeria's to all backers who received her.

We have had the missing Hell's Bell torso cast and it is on its way to Soda Pop from China now. Soda Pop will then be sending out the missing part to everyone who ordered a Hell's Belle. CMoN should be posting a Kickstarter update with this information soon.

You will be receiving enough to cover your pledge.

I translate the packing issue in that

CMON knew that all the cerci hells belles were misspacked, and valeria in the doctirne starter was likely to be faulty, but their man on the spot had gone home

so they didn't manage to correctly communicate the issues to to the Chinese packers so all the backers packages with those were wrong

so now they have to send their man on the spot back to china to get them to unpack everything and check it's done right

The game seems pretty neat. Played a quick game with a friend, and found it very different. Was almost like a mix somewhere between Infinity and Malifaux, with even more resource management.

Hope the thing catches on. There's a lot of depth I can see based on how diverse the various knights and objective setups can be.

Well the Soda Pop forum is now filled with US backers with no RK and no tracking numbers

so either the 'recently finished shipping' was today (and we know CMON can take a bit of time to send out tracking numbers especially when they're rushing things out the door),

or somebody in the warehouse has lost a stack of packaging slips down the back of the sofa and will look foolish when they finally find them in a few days time
