Pask in a punisher is a complete beast. I run him at every points variant (i know this isn't always efficient), and he seriously never fails to deal some serious damage. It's great the first time someone fights you who hasn't seen Pask before.

"Ok, i'm deepstriking these termies next to you."

5 minutes later 4 of the 5 terminators are dead thanks to the 29 S5 shots coming their way. Oooooh yeah!

and about 20 min later the surviving terminator shows his hammer, giggles and pask is no more...

The punisher gun is very good against light vehicles and to finish off av11 vehicles with 1 hullpoint left. It is worse than it looks against infantry though.

Remember that "Do nothing special in particular" PCS with 4 measly lasguns?

Not anymore.

Platoon Command Squad: X Points
Replace any Guardsman's lasgun with:
-Grenade Launcher, Sniper Rifle, Flamer...X Points
-Meltagun...X Points
-Plasmagun...X Points
-Punisher Cannon...5 Points

Wait, what?

That's right. 4 Punisher Cannons on a PCS.

You bet it's squishy, you bet it's BS3, but that's 80 shots a turn. They're gunna kill something.

The Platoon Commander can actually take two. The exact wording is "May replace his laspistol and/or close combat weapon for" and then it lists the punisher. So that's six in total.

I wanna call cheese...but I just won't.

Because 120 shots from a five man squad is adorable.

I'll one up all you guys.

Conscripts with punisher cannon upgrade.

Yes, you can only take like one in your army, but when said unit is shooting something like 240 S5 shots in a single turn...

Well, it's game over man

Silly, conscripts can't take upgrades.

Actually, what I think I'd really like is an allied inquisitor with a punisher cannon. I'd like to see a BS5 punisher cannon with prescience.

Edit: This thread title needs to be changed to

"Ridiculous stuff we want Punisher cannons on."

I nominate Sisters of Battle get a WD update with a squad of Battle Sisters that can take them as upgrades. But the models are never released, and the WD article becomes super hard to find after the initial run.

Take that, SoB.

No, I meant you just replace all their lasguns with punisher cannons.

Mount 6 or 7 Punisher Cannons on a Baneblade instead of the Vulcan Mega-Bolter.

Or allow the LR Punisher to take them as sponsons as well.

For an extra 5 points I will twin link my punisher cannons on the sergeant.

The conversion would probably look like this. Hopefully without the Hilter face.

Aww, no love for the Avenger? Stick a punisher cannon on each of the four wing hardpoints and give one to the rear gunner and you've got what even an ork might consider "enough dakka".

Take a punisher cannon in a command squad AND make it fluffy.

Dutch's Command Squad: X Points
Dutch and 4 Commandos
Upgrade one Commando to Blain X Points
Upgrade one Commando to Poncho X Points
Upgrade one Commando to Billy X Points
Upgrade one Commando to Mac X Points

Blain has a punisher cannon and special rule "I ain't got time to bleed" which is a 4+ FNP.
Poncho has a grenade launcher and special rule "have you got time to duck?" which is a 4+ invul save.
Billy has a knife.
Mac has the "Revenge" special rule. If ever Blain dies and Mac is still alive he will pick up the punisher cannon and automatically gain a free out of sequence shooting attack.

Dutch has a combi autogun/grenade launcher. Has the "Mud" special rule. Night vision cannot be used against a model with the Mud special rule.

Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

Six or seven?

A baneblade could easily fit 30-40 Punisher cannons.

I give this thread 5 posts before it turns into "How many Punisher cannons can you fit on a Baneblade?".

OK im gonna change the title. Also considering this thread is less about tactics and more about boyish Punisher fanboyism i'm also gonna request it gets moved to 40k General.

As for the platoon commander w/twin punishers. I think something along the lines of this maybe?
Spoiler:

As far as how many Punishers can fit on a Baneblade? Im thinking (and im being conservative here) roughly.... ooooh..
Baneblade cannon w/Coaxil autocannon = Twinlinked Punisher cannon w/Coaxil Punisher cannon
Demolisher cannon = Twinlinked Punisher cannon
x2 Lascannons = x2 Punisher cannons
x3 Twinlinked Heavy bolters = x3 Twinlinked Punisher cannons
(Optional) x1 Pintle mounted Heavy stubber/Storm bolter = x1 Pintle mounted Punisher cannon

= x5 Twinlinked Punisher cannons & 3 Punisher cannons
= 180 str 5 shots 100 of which have rerolls.

PLUS the smoke launchers which would have to be replaced with Punisher launchers. So instead of smoke they fire a cloud of obscuring bullets. So for the rest of the game any enemy unit that passes through the "smoke" takes 2d6 str 5 hits.

But look at all that unused space on the Baneblade's hull. You could fit dozens of Punisher cannons on that.

Why the baneblade, when we have beauties like this:

Or even... this

Think of how many punishers could cover a Manta. Even at BS1, we are talking so much dakka that no army would be safe.

You would have so many shots you could table you opponent, and both players in the games going on next to you in one shooting phase.

Heresy. The engine will be the recoil of punisher cannons shooting backwards, while the armor will be the wall of bullets flying in all directions.
