The Dwarf pathfinders should sell really well, as that is what everyone uses as core.

They look really sweet too.

Come on, guys. We all know Felix is too busy planning how best not to sculpt the remaining paid for dwarves to stand next to the casting molds blowing into the restic with a coffee stirrer. Early Finecast levels of quality are simply not an option so please stop wishlisting!

The dwarven pathfinders do look nice. I would have loved figs like that back when I was running a dwarf heavy D&D campaign.

Slightly off topic but I was wondering if anyone knows of any store that has the AoW Harpies in stock? I need two sets for a project.

Spoiler:

And still no Dwarf Standard Bearer

*edit* Just checked the AoW Forum and there was this note regarding future dwarf releases:
The crossbowers are almost done, so they will be shown finsihed on release.
I am now preparing the Warriors of Apoc for plastic tooling. When I get back to the Doomcrushers and sculpt a bit more on them I will post a WiP pic. It will be by the 2nd half of September.

About the exclusive standard bearer, it will be one of the last heroes for the army, most probably the figure culimating it. I know there are many of you waiting for it, but I really need to find the right moment to be able to spend on it as much time as I want to make a figure that will be the envy of all dwarf collectors that did not contribute.
Right now, with all those regiments (new ones and the ones that need modifications for plastic tooling) on my desk it is just impossible to spend that time on a single figure.

So maybe next decade......

Well, we all know how talented Felix is-if he puts his money where his mouth is (figuratively speaking), it may be worth the wait. His dwarves ARE the best on the market, so for those of you who ordered the standard bearer, I truly hope he makes the wait 100% worth it.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

AoW, such a frustrating mix of stunning, jaw droppingly beautiful minis and such utterly shoddy business practice. He and RHs need a solid manager and PR sorting things out and kicking their willful and artistic asses into keeping deadlines, maintaining communication and giving the mob what it wants, to ensure their long term business health.

Love the gunners and the Manhunter. Just checked out his sight. Why in gods name are some of the dwarves in Warcast? I thought the goal was for all of them to be plastic. His basic dwarf units are warcast which is never going to be available....

We'll find out soon enough eh.

When is that Manhunter going to be available? I wants it.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

They aren't. Warcast was discontinued. That's why he mentioned "retooling regiments for plastic". The Warcast dwarves wound up being backer and preorder only; they will be re-released in plastic.

Ah, good to know. Honestly, once the Warstore has them I might start a dwarf army where I just buy, build, and paint a single new unit once every few months. Not in love with Fantasy right now as a game but I do love me some dwarves

By the time AoW has half of what they'd promised ready, 9th edition will be here anyway so that's a good plan Hulk.

Plastic is cool, it's just odd that Warthrone was such a non-starter for them. Seems like they bungled that as badly as they do their PR.

I really try not to be overly negative about these guys, but man, it's just disappointing to see how far they drop the ball, when they had such potential. More of note is when people Stop commenting (as was the case here for awhile)- meaning they've just become a non-factor.

But with a new dwarfs army book on the horizon, as well as 9th edition, he would do really well to make more progress on this project. I gave up waiting on his stuff and just went with FW dwarfs, with conversion bits sculpted by GrimStoneFire.

Pretty much what I was going for

I can build up a large unit of slayers, 2 units of crossbowmen and a few greatweapon pathfinders as it stands. Add in another 40 thunderers eventually and I'll be well on my way by the time 9th or the new Dwarf book hits

Might want to wait till January/February. Talk is Dwarfs are the next fantasy release after Dark Elves. GW will likely be rolling out a bunch of plastic units for the remaining non-plastic troops (Slayers, Ironbreakers, and Hammers). Hopefully Felix's release has force GW to up their game, but then this is GW we're talking about

Interesting update here:

AoW wrote:Dwarf army Indiegogo Campaign and plastic:

The Dwarf army Indiegogo campaign was designed to produce the regiments in Warcast. As some of you may already know, after months of attempts & frustration, we had to discard this material for regiments that require a wide distribution, and switch to plastic injection molds for these regiments.

Today, there are already three regiments of Dwarves available in plastic, and more will in the future.

The problem is that the perks for the campaign were calculated for warcast production, not plastic. While plastic injection production needs a much greater initial investment (about a hundred times greater than warcast!) eventually, once the injection molds are amortized, plastic parts are cheaper to produce than the warcast.

Therefore, the price of our plastic regiment boxes is chepaer than the warcast indiegogo prices. So backers of the campaign would be now paying more for plastic regiments than non participants. That should definitely not be this way.

To fix this problem, we decided to apply the following rule:

Each miniature you got in the campaign can be changed for 1 waracst figure or 1.5 plastic figures.

That is, if you got 40 figures during the campaign, you can exchange them for 40 warcast figures or 60 plastic figures, or 10 warcast figures and 45 plastic figures, and so on.

This way, those who took part in the campaign can still get warcast figures if they prefer resin over plastic, and can get plastic regiments at a better price than non-participants (including any of the available offers).

Thanks for reading!

An oddly appropriate stance to take. Though it burns in my mouth since I still haven't seen my standard yet Kudos to AoW.

Great miniatures, great sculpting, decent prices. Aweful communication, bad customer service, long delivery times.

I guess it comes down to what scale it tips over. I also think it's poor of AoW not to finish the standard bearer, and honestly, I believe that it will not be released at all. I think that AoW has burned all the money from their IGG already leaving not enough for all the shipping. :/

Restic/PVC. they can't afford to do polystyrene like the berserkers.

I have the rangers and the PVC plastic is just fine.

No, this is Privateer Press restic, not Mantic restic.

Restic, eh? Thank goodness Felix chose a medium to counter every advantage a well-sculpted multi-part kit could have. I was afraid I might have to buy something from him again!

Maybe PDC will give him a decent price to go styrene? It would be nice if AoW was relevant as anything other than a punchline.

What is the multiplier for the time until release? Many people will not be happy to get 1.5 standard bearers in 15 years.
