Many thanks for everyone's support - we have already met the initial goal, and passed two stretch goals!

Nort players will be enjoying their elite Assault Squads (equipped with plenty of Death Blades!), and both sides can now properly be commanded by a range of Officers.

We are now thundering towards the next stretch goal, the Nort Skorpion Battlewagon (available in three variants, with Missile Rack, Barrage Mortar, and as an Infantry Fighting Vehicle - get a small squad of assault troops in there, and they'll make it into combat!), and we have posted details of what is coming next - Souther Lazooka Teams and Nort Snipers, including the elite Black Dome shooters!

You can get the latest scoop on our Kickstarter site at;

I've had a look through the rules, they're looking good I have to say,
One thing though, I couldn't see any rules for Gunnar, Bagman, and Helm.
Any plans for them?

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

The first post is really weird. I expected to see the info from the thread about Rogue Trooper and instead, there are ships that I assume aren't related to the Rogue Trooper kickstarter at all.

Fortunately the KS page is actually good and well laid out and after taking a look at that, I feel like I got a good handle on things.

I've always been on the edge of being a 2000AD fan. I've read some of the comics, listened to some of the good Big Finish audio dramas and enjoyed the latest Judge Dredd movie.

I never got exposed to Rogue Trooper until hearing about this Kickstarter though. But the whole Nu-Earth thing sounds awesome and I've started doing some good searches to learn more about the comic.

Looks like a really solid choice for a miniatures game. I'm glad to see it's already funded and giving away the PDF so people can give you feedback is just really, really smart.

Rogue Trooper was always good fun,

at least until Rogue was replaced by Friday and the series went in a different direction.

I was able to find a compilation locally and have started reading it. I don't know how this gem escaped my notice for so many decades.

It's awesome that the KS is already funded and the game is going to happen. I'll be watching for more updates as the remaining time goes by. I definitely want to see that black dome sniper made into a miniature. The art for that guy is just awesome.

So I started reading the rules. IGOUGO might be a deal breaker for me. If the game was geared around 20 or so models a side, then I can accept asking my opponent to wait while I move and shoot and do whatever with all of them. But this game looks like it's more geared towards 40+ models and asking someone to just stand there while I do everything with my whole army just isn't going to work for me.

The game has reactions, which is why I'm still on the fense, but I would have much rather seen a more integrated turn structure.

EDIT: At 10 points a basic soldier, one could easily have 50+ miniatures at 1000 points. If it's true that 1000-3000 points is the normal size, you could easily have 100+ miniatures per side on the table and still have half or more of your points available for vehicles and other special stuff.

Those reactions provide, I think, the integration you are looking for. The effect is that you are always doing things in your opponent's turn (set things up right, and you may be doing more damage in his turn than yours - ask any Starship Troopers player!), and things start getting very vicious when units close in on one another.

I would urge you to proxy a few models and try the core rules out - people tend to like them in play.

I suppose you also get to react every single time someone shoots at a new unit. So you can exchange fire every turn when someone attacks your unit for the first time.

I'm still concerned about the model count of a full sized game though. But maybe the rules really shine at 30-40 models a side where the wait between turns and reactions wouldn't be as long.

The first vehicle has been unlocked for the Rogue Trooper miniatures game as a stretch goal - the Nort Skorpion Battlewagon, a vehicle that comes with either missile or mortar secondary weapons, or as an Infantry Fighting Vehicle. We are now less than £2,000 away from the next stretch goal, the Souther Lazooka teams that will soon earn the respect of Skorpion drivers!

I played Starship Troopers several times per week for several years, up to games with 400 models on a side. The longest game took maybe 4 hours.

Yes and no, see P. 14 of the rulebook draft
"A unit may only make one Reaction in every turn, no matter how many
times an enemy moves close by or shoots it."

Play some games with some proxy models and you will notice that you are doing indeed a lot.
For me it was still to little, I proposed an alternate unit activation during the development World at War but was eventually overruled by Matt.
If you still do not like it just use a houserule, that problem is very easy solved.
The game is very solid at its core!

Four new models have been released for the Judge Dredd miniatures game, all spoils from the Kickstarter last year!

Hitting the streets of Mega-City One, we now have Judge Giant, the Specialist Weapons Judge (with a choice of Widowmaker 2000 and Lawrod), the Space Corps Judge, and Fergee, King of the Big Smelly.

You can see all four at;

Probably still worth fixing up, though as Giant is a specific character. It's like a Mace Windu miniature being shown off with a caucasian complexion.

It's an easy fix too, just get some brown glazes on there until it looks right in a photograph.

The Rogue trooper kickstarter is moving very slowly. Should it have it's own thread?

If every Nick Fury looked like this I would agree...

However there are some interpretations of him being a little more "Ultimate"

As far as I know, both incarnations of Judge Giant (I and II) were both quite Black. [edit:] That said, a quick bit of of photoshop and were are done!

Considering that all you can see of Judge Giant is his teeth, I wouldn't be so quick to say. If you look at what little you can see of his face he in fact does seem to have been painted as one of the more melanin gifted members of our species.

I fear you are peeking at the Specialist Judge rather than the guy above him.
