Those rule, but I'm kind of worried about the power armor arms. They look like they're recasts from the GW Chaos Marine kits, or they're at least very close. Regardless, I totally dig the guitars.

These are bits I've been clamoring for someone to do for a while, now.
...and, sadly, I'm not impressed.

They look too much like guitars and not enough like actual weapons. I wish they'd weaponized them better.

To be fair, they seem to be aiming to match with the old guitar Noise Marine, which was the same way: just a bolter barrel and magazine attached to a guitar.

I second cuda in saying we need a microphone, but add that we need a drum set, too.

If they'd done that, I'd have been satisfied. At least, with a barrel and magazine, it would look like a weapon. This just looks like a musical instrument.

Only the 2 "Heavy" options seem to have anything added and, frankly, it doesn't do enough -to me- to make them look like weapons.

I love it.

This is what Chaos should be- goofy, absolutely aware of it's own silliness, and willing to embrace it. It's the only sort of army that a giant mechanical dragon-shaped jet plane will fit into.

It's a chunky vambrace, rerebrace and couter; they didn't include a chunky pauldron so I think they're safe. (Okay, so the GW-Chapterhouse summary judgement was probably more nuanced than 'GW ownz all the beefy shoulderpads evah!', I just haven't bothered reading past the soundbite yet. )

The regular ones have a little something in the same place as the heavies, but I concur. On the other hand, this way you can easily add the noisy end from actual bolter/plasma gun/whatever (preferably offset enough that you don't shoot your hand off when you fire ) and have a better fit to the rest of your army than some ersatz bolter would be, run a cable to a backpack-mounted speaker, just leave it as a guitar and have the actual weapon slung across the back, etc.

This is kind of what I thought. It looks like they purposely left you an almost flat section to attach your own bolter clip. It would have been nice if they'd included it, but they might be playing it safe as regards GW designs.

It would be cool if they had at least one hand grabbing the trem bar as in the pictured marine though.

Either way, these take almost all the scractch-building out of making noise marines, so that's got to be a good thing!

For me, if I'm paying 2 € a piece for these (2.58 USD or 1.61 GBP), I don't want to have to do any conversions. At 2 and a half dollars a piece, I want to clean them, glue them on and go.

I understand completly where you're coming from, but I personally don't mind (too much) in doing some minor conversion when using conversion bits. I'd prefer not to, as you say, - just glue and go - but I'm more willing to do so if it's something more on the unique or rare side, like guitars that no-one else makes..

Don't need to, orc tech means that as long as it looks like a guitar and believes he rocks, he indeed rocks

i'm with him on the cleanup, you can go three ways with bitz

1. volumn
2. quality
3. price

With guys like zinge selling bitz at really, really affordable prices, and if quality is lacking (cleanup) they are just banking on no one else making a similiar bit.
its understandable as with most of these things you need to sell 50 or 100 at that kind or price to make the money back for the sculpt (unless you are making it yourself)

It's not just a bit though is it. It's a specialist conversion bit, that is a niche in a niche.
And you don't HAVE to do anything - it's still a gun barrel under a Guitar.

The GW Noise Marine Weapons are £9 for 6 (or £1.50 each) anyway, so I will happily equip one of my ultimate 3 squads of Noise Marines with these Guitars

That's the problem (for me). It's NOT a gun barrel under a guitar... not these new bits. It's just a guitar. I'd gladly accept "just a gun barrel under a guitar," since that looks weaponized, at least.
"Have" is a relative term. You're right. I don't HAVE to convert them. I also don't have to buy them or, for that matter, even play the game.
Taken in context, however, *if* I buy these bits and *if* I want them to look weaponized, then I *have* to convert them.

 Ovion wrote:

For me, it's not just about the price. If these were of equal quality to the GW bits and looked like actual weapons, I'd gladly pay the same prices as GW charges, if I was completing a squad of Noise Marines. As these sit, I think the quality for price is definitely there. So, at this quality and price, I'd gladly pay it if I was completing a squad of Noise Marines, IF they also looked like weapons.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not decrying the company or the bits. I'm merely expressing some disappointment that I found someone making a bit that was SO CLOSE to what I'd been looking for, but which missed my desires at one of the most important parts of the bit.

Looking at the pictures, it has a barrel, just no magazine.

Also - £1.50 per is slightly cheaper than the Guitars. (makes a change :p)
