Yes! The surface is heavily discolored by now, it's rusting quite a bit. I'm using as much raw metal as I can (so it rusts easily) and I live in louisiana. The humidity alone rusts it, not to mention I leave it in my truck and in the backyard a lot.

Nowlan wrote:Nothing says melta-gun damage like holes cut with a plasma-cutter.

I LOVE our new plasma cutter! The old one at the shop was decent, but we got a new one and it is silky-smooth.

Anywho, I have an UPDATE!

I started the plates for the front of the Landa.

After I got the base plates on, I welded lines to it.

Next, I ground it all down to make it pretty. The pictures are hard to make out, the metal gets super shiny when it gets ground.

Lastly, here's a few wide shots.

I'm usually a bit cynical about "Ork tec" but this... this is epic...

Amazing stuff, can't wait to see some paint on it.

I have some huge updates coming! I was able to put about fifteen hours into it this week, so this will be the first of three updates.

First up, I added the bottom plates to the wings.

Once it was on, I warped the plates a little and took off some stickers with a propane torch.

once done with that, I started working on engine gubbins and piping it all to the engine room.

Once I was done having fun with engines, I switched gears and started playing dentist. First I added upper teeth.

While I had the jaw open, I added a hook to the jawplate. The magnets were not gonna cut it for the long run, so I fixed it.

Thats it for now, I should have the second part typed up sometime tomorrow.

All will flock to my banner, and with a mighty roar the might of the imperium will fall.

One order of Dakka, coming up!

First up, I built the flight deck.

Next, I added some nose guns.

After that I added about a third of the turrets.

Next up, a door.

Next up, internal engine stuff.

Thats it for this week! getting close to the end of the build. I'm really excited about rusting and painting.

Now THAT'S got a lot of dakka! As usual, it needs more because you can never have enough, but right now that's enough! What are you gonna do about that rust though?

It will have more. Only about half the turrets are on, and it still needs pulsa-rokkit tubes. On the note of rust, I'm not sure what you mean. most of the rust has been added by me, I only plan on using as little paint as possible.

Oh wow, so it's intentional? I thought that was just from it being exposed to the elements! In that case, forget what I said about rust.

I can't find links to anything else of note. I usually only post the big and weird stuff, so regular troops and what-nots I don't really have pictures of. I also paired down my collection four years ago, I only have Orks for 40K and Skaven for fantasy. Naturally, I have an embarrassingly large army for each of them, both painted and un-painted.

After that awesome trip down memory lane, I have an update.

First up, I started chemical rust experiments in ernest. The colors are not what the final look will be, I'm just experimenting with what kind of a palette I can expect.

Next, I experimented with the Pulsa-Rokkit rack. It will be very time-intensive, but I really want to have fun with the battery of Rokkits. There will be eight total.

Lastly, I added Dakka. a TON of Dakka. about four pounds of Dakka. There are now over twenty turrets.

Thanks everyone!

I have another update, I'm almost done with the building part.

To start with, I added more details to the wings.

After that I added detail to the jaw.

Next, I built a secondary engine compartment.

After that I added details to the observation deck.

Finally, I Fixed most of the turrets. No pictures, I just had to re-weld them.

I'm still hoping to have it fully built by the end of the month, smile for the camera!
