Nothing special for plasma in general, but access to lots of different varieties.

Cheap. 70 points base. 5-man gets special or heavy weapon, 10 man gets special and heavy weapon. Access to Flakk.

Also do we get the armoury section back like C:CSM did?

Yes. Libby gets access to 3-4 different lists in the armory section.

So Dark Angels get cheaper marines than Chaos and they also get Stubborn? Seems legit (and by seems legit I mean I couldn't be less surprised).

Do Tacticals get a sergeant standard or do they have to pay to upgrade for one?

That is odd, although you get a sergeant for free, which that tac squad dose not have base.

They also don't get anything in the air that can compete with a heldrake, or anything remotely equivalent to a Daemon Prince. Power level between the two seems fairly consistent, although DA wins out in a head to head comparison due to a rather hefty rock-paper-scissors effect.

Free, but has LD 8 unless you pay for a Veteran upgrade for him.

What psychic disciplines can libbys use, and how many powers can a libby take? Is it tied to their mastery level like CSM?

It is. I'd rather spend the points on the a command squad with banner. Pity, I like the look of it. The weapons loadout already wasn't great for anti-air but when the Avenger Bolt Cannon thing turned out not to be the same one as forgeworld (i.e. less shots and at AP4) it just killed the fighter for me.

Nephilim seems like the better fighter, but neither is impressive. Also, Neph was printed as having Missile Lock, but has no weapons that scatter.

Under the stat line on the Advance order page, the Nephilim has Strafing Run and Unrelenting Hunter - were any of those in the book? Perhaps it was a misprint and should have been one of those.

Are Devs cheaper now? Does giving them flakk missiles cost s much as it does for CSM (25 ppts)?

Last questions, it's getting late my local time.

Nephilim has Strafing Run and Unrelenting Hunter in addition to the useless Missile Lock. Unrelenting lets you upgrade inflicted Weapon Destroyed results to Immobilized.

Ezekiel is solid in H2H, with 3W 3A and WS5. His sword is pretty much just a Master Craft 2-handed Force Sword though.
He provides a 6" +1WS bubble. (Lots of bubbles in this codex.)
He gets 3 powers, and is Mastery Level 3, but one power is predetermined.
The predetermined power is a d3 shot Str 4 Ap 2 Focussed Witchfire that causes a permanent and severe (per wound inflicted: -3 WS, BS, I, and Ld) debuff to wounded models. Can absolutely cripple opposing beatstick characters.

Dev cost is reasonable, but fairly standard. Flakk is a 10pt premium per ML for devs, tacs, scouts, and vets.

Between T5 terminators with FNP bubbles, murderous Salvo 4 bolters, full-reserve capability with plenty of guided Deep Strikes that arrive on the turn you want, termis striking at S10 AP1 in normal initiative, cheap marines with great morale and plasma Speeders with great cover saves, it seems like a very strong book. Nothing seems overcosted, many builds seem possible, and some things are plainly amazing.

Whomever thought that the CSM codex was the start of a new phase of more globally planned, balanced approach may want to rethink that position.

With a dakka banner they can bolter down even a flying Prince in one turn; not sure why they would want to have a DP equivalent as it is really lame now. Getting flakk missiles on tactical MLs is a good thing, though they'll likely get by fine with their great forepower and getting a Divination psyker to twin-link stuff.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

The S10 Ap1 thing is debunked, they only get to to make their mauls Ap2 for one turn. Still very powerful..

Can normal (non command squad termies) get access to FNP via apothecary or some other way? Also can TH/SS or assault termies take heavy weapons or is it only SB PF ones? Do The libbys have their own powers to choose from (if so how are they) or do they need to use the rulebook ones all the time?

Can't sleep, so you get more answers.

Str 10 mauls are confirmed, AP1 confirmed-ish. Knights get Mace of Absolution. Mace is a normal powermaul, but improves AP by 1 against Chaos Marines. Once per game becomes +6 Str, Ap2. Still retains improved AP against Chaos Marines, therefore can be Str 10 AP1 for a single combat phase.

Non command termies do not get Apothecaries.

DW termies start out PF and SB, can take Claws or Th/SS for cheap. Heavy weapon upgrade is 1-per-5, independent of CCW upgrades. TH/SS/Cyclone is still possible.

Libbies have Rulebook powers only, with exception of Ezekiel. (check prior post for details on that).

I thought someone said that in the blurb it required primary detachment to unlock, so no allies.

Also good luck getting all of those things listed into one army. There are things called point limits for a reason.

Also the dakka banner is either going to be in a 5 man power armor fnp squad, a 5 man terminator fnp squad or a 3 man bike fnp squad. Not easy to kill off, but not the hardest.

It is conceivable that I missed the primary detachment detail.

An Azrael based Dualwing can pack an amazing amount of variety in 2000 points, with most of it scoring.

5 man PA squad with no FNP, no upgrades other than banner (165pts) riding in a LR Crusader that fires 24 TL bolter shots a turn, flanked by scoring ravenwing that fire 4 TL shots each. Not broken, but certainly one heck of a solution to hordes.

Just be glad to take my crusader finally. Almost never run it cause it enters the table and then trying to assault with it gets it killed.

24 twinlinked shots at 24 inches will do nicely though.

@Tuagh

What are the RW Black Knights' options and how big can their squads get?

What was a huntmaster doing for a squad?

Can bike command squads take the DakkaBanner?

I know it was said somewhere, but how many points for the banner?

Thanks for anything if you're still up, you rock.

10 men, all with Str 5 rending H2H attacks (corvus hammers), all with 18" TL plasmaguns (Plasma Talons) and 1-per-3 can swap to spiffy grenade launchers with debuff grenades (kinda like GK rad grenades, only used in the shooting phase.)

Yes and no. PA and DW command squads have access to "Sacred Standards", of which Salvo is one. RW command squad has access to "Relic Standards" which do not seem to exist. I would assume that this is a fairly obvious typo and that they can take "Sacred" standards instead.

Banner is 65 i believe.

Can Libbies and Chappies take Bikes?

For that matter, can a normal command squad take bikes? (I assume not, but here's wishing)
