Heh Vik....The Mini Nuke is actually a case for the entire Fallout CD collection, it came out around the time of the first Pip Boy, before Fallout 4 dropped. I'm not sure they made it to scale. I'd need a scale Fat Man to test I missed out on the first Pip-boy, when they announced this one, I got in on it right away.
whalemusic360 wrote:What's the difference between the bluetooth and standard pip boy? I've got the normal one, didn't seem worth an upgrade at a glance.
The mold for the original was broken, it was just a phone case. This one actually has it's own electronics. It boots up when you turn it on, with a little green screen POST screen, it's a bluetooth speaker, so you can pipe "Butcher Pete" through it (which is the very first thing I did with it), it opens and connects over your arm just like the FO4 Pip-boy, the holotape is removeable (and it's secretely a USB drive - coolest feature IMO), you move the knobs and dials to move around the Pip-Boy UI just like in the game. The only knobs/dials that don't actually do anything are the radio dial (although it is lit and moves), the Geiger Counter (for obvious reasons), and the plug in the back that opens the vault door. It IS the ultimate dork toy! Ladygeek was laughing at me pretty hard when I was first playing with it, but she appreciates it

Yeah, have you ever actually tested the Geiger counter, how do you know it doesn't work?
Cool thing though.
And Ta for the reply about the filter. I'm considering building a AB hood.

I have a couple of 120mm 12V PC fans that I'm going to try out.
Proper planning will be carried out after I've finished the current modelling projects.

I've seen some great booths built with PC fans, I'm in a German Facebook group Die Modellbau Ecke (Thank dog for google translate) and these guys are 1. BIG into old American car models and 2. VERY creative with these types of projects. Your goal is to move air for acrylics, not necessarily exhaust vapors- if that were the case, you'd need a sealed environment, and a brushless high CFM fan with exhaust.

Ah, well, I use Enamels. So I plan to exhaust out the window with a tumble-dryer exhaust tube.
Hence the early thoughts about a filter material...

Yep! She's all Rattie! Crazy dog! What's your little dog?

She's a little Rattie as well. Probably mixed a bit with something else since she's mostly black with white on her chin, neck, belly, and feet. All of her ticking is on her white spots though. My parents also have a male Rat Terrier who spends a lot of time at my place.
They are truly a unique breed. Can't tame that terrier prey-drive. She is a hunter.

I have a Jack Russell Terrier, and if the Rat Terrier is anything like the JRT, oh yes, excellent hunters. I've seen film of JRT's clearing out a barn full of vermin, rats. They are very, uhm, efficient and enthusiastic about it. I bet Rat Terriers would be too. I'm guessing a fairly energetic dog as well.

heh- Yeah, They were specifically bred for rodent control on farms. In fact, the breed was first called the Teddy Roosevelt Terrier, as he used them famously to clear the White House of rats 100+ years ago. They don't eat them, they just know it's their job to shake it until it's dead. Bean has gotten several rabbits, voles, chipmunks, and even a squirrel once! The squirrels usually outpace her, one was not as smart as the rest
This is beneficial, as my back yard is FULL of chipmunk burrows, those damn things can make concrete collapse if they tunnel under porches etc.

My JRT has a fair number of rats and mice to her credit. I have bird feeders which sometimes attract the vermin. And the squirrels. She's had one of those. Normally they can make it to the trees. JRTs don't climb. I'm thinking this is a good thing. Better than cats, as pets and as pest controllers, IMHO. I though Chipmunks were arboreal. I never had problems with them. Something wiped out the local chipmunk populations hereabouts. Not sure what.

HA Well, at least I'm not threatening to blow "somewhere" up... Although I do have a history of researching explosives. But I did make sure to only use University computers for the searching.
...
It was for a research project.
...
For my Chemistry undergraduate degree.
...
About the mechanism of explosions and how they propagate through a material.
Did you know that with the right hammer, done right, you can hit a blob of nitroglycerine without it detonating.
If the face of the hammer has even the slightest of scratches/chips, it will trap a tiny pocket of air which will be compressed, heat up, and detonate the NG. That was an interesting paper.
I was quite pleased with myself, at the time, for including a reference in my report for a certain well-known "cook book".
We also had to do a presentation on our research and I was tempted to bring in a lump of Plasticine with wires stuck in and drop in on the table at the start of mine. But I didn't in the end.
