In other news, have they finally gave a date for the shipping of the KS. I rebember some posters saying I was overly cynical because I tought we wouldn't get it for September 2014. at this point, I'm actually wondering if we'll get it for september 2016.

Eurgh, finally! I'm gonna try and recoup the costs on this one as soon as possible

I think everything is still on track for shipments to start in Q3 of 2015, so...

I believe only the core game is going to be finished printing by June, Adam Poots isnt very good at keeping his backers updated and his most recent post makes it seem that none of the expansion are in the works. My money says this doesnt ship until Q1-Q2 2016

No, Adam has stated that everything has been produced - that would be core game and expansions.

I read his last updated as only the core game is being printed, his update "However, good news did arrive this morning. It is the schedule for the core games printing production. It is not the shipping or fulfillment dates."

The email even says main game. I take this as only the core game is being printed currently and wont be fulfilled until June.

The email also says "All the files for the expansions have been checked and evaluated by the printing company. We aim to sign off on the fine details this week."

I read it as one big wave, with The Game being held up by the expansions.

Though arguably, The Game will be large enough (DWt applies) and heavy enough (16 lbs) that shipping it separately might not impact the overall shipping cost.

It seemed to me that the core game is getting printed and packed into a cargo box and them shipped out. Then expansion printed packed and shipped. I still dont see how a Q3 fullfilment date is possible. How long does a cargo ship take from China? It seems the core game wont arrive state side until July?

IIRC sea shipping is about 3 weeks to the west coast?

Q3 ends September 30, so Q3 fulfillment is very possible. Especially if all they're doing is slapping shipping labels on pre-packed boxes of The Game.

By comparison, SPM knocked through probably 4,000 such boxes in a few weeks for SDE:FK:
. mid-Jan - start of printing
. mid-Feb - US containers left China
. mid-Mar - US container in port
. mid-Apr - US shipping complete.

If KD starts printing April, and Adam does a slap&ship for The Game, those can be in backer hands as early as July.

At this point, after this much time, I'd be shocked if 'everything' wasn't shipping together.

Shocked, annoyed and more than a little upset.

I don't think the prospect of 'shipping waves' has been talked about at all yet, has it?

It was posted, I assume it wasn't changed.

I'll say what I said last year when I had the same discussion with some posters. I would be very surprised (and happy), if we get the game before my birthday (september 17).

But at this point, I mostly don't even care anymore about it. I simply have accepted that we'll get it when we'll get it.

It was discussed during or soon after the campaign and Poots said that everything would ship as one package due to shipping costs. I assume that is still the case as all the expansions will combine into a hefty box on their own. I hate to imagine how big the final parcel is going to be for all this...

Now that's what I remember!

As for shipping 'at one time' - well, that doesn't necessarily mean it will ship in 'one box'!

I do hope one box, because more boxes = more customs fees.

That's sorta where I am when I think about it.

In all honesty, I'm even considering selling it and all the other kingdom death stuff I have.

Can't decide.

I'm starting to waver on that front too cincy - I bought the game and all expansions with game content.

And I don't know if I will keep it, or sell it...

Yeah, I'm currently going through that in my head as well. One factor in my decision is the ability for this game to be easily ordered from within the EU without excessive customs charges as well as steep postage from the US. If the EU doesn't get a distributor(s), which consequently makes the game harder to expand and rope others into playing, then to ebay it goes. The whole "no online retailers" message I've seen bandied about doesn't seem to indicate that there'll be much in the way of distributors anyway.

Im considering the same. If MSRP is any real indication, it doesn't seem to far fetch to make back my money plus 2 years interest, lol.

I considered it, and ended up doing exactly that. I sold my different pledges to other people who were more than happy to take them over. I then went along and started selling my collection of KD (it was a completed one when I started), and just saving a couple that I really like. While I still like the range, and I believe that it will become even better as it continues to grow, the KD: Monsters just have taken too much focus and time away from what I liked about the company. I might jump on board the train later on again once it falls off the rader of the "trend-followers".

I think selling a Kingdom Death pledge is going to offer back a substantial investment. I'm not sure I would want to deprive myself of the misery this game looks to provide for the players (nevermind all that plastic).

I think subconsciously part of the reason I've been clearing stuff out of my house is to prepare for the coming of this game. It's presence is being felt before it even enters the world, and all my other games and figures are already trying to escape.

Much like how animals can sense something dreadful coming before it actually occurs.

Are all of the KD miniatures compatible?

Can I pick up some from the store, and use them to tide me over until we ever get the game?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I don't know about this anymore. I think Adam has burned a lot of good will by now. With the stupid increase in shipping, I think this is the final straw for me.

All of the KD minis are supposed to be compatible, which is why the store minis are getting KD:M cards bundled in to use as "special" / alt figures..
