For what it's worth, I'm in the US and haven't gotten an email either. The guy in the KS lives within 50mi of the distribution center and just got lucky to be at the top of the list, it seems.

It's seems crazy that they'd ship everything from (presumably) LA to Michigan for distribution. I thought the rush to get it out was that it was taking up expensive warehouse space?

It's possible that it is starting out with UPS or FedEx and being handed off to the USPS for final delivery. My wife buys/sells a ton of stuff, and increasingly that seems to be the low cost option: UPS delivers to your local post office and USPS takes it to your door. I don't know what the shipping confirmation looks like, but we send and receive a ton of stuff that both parties touch.

Yeah, that would be "SmartPost", and it's not uncommon, as UPS/FedEx don't like to do residential delivery. I'm just surprised that it's not straight UPS, as I recall them doing a lot of home delivery.

Shipping is so bonkers, We have a UPS delivery truck that comes down our street almost daily, so I know they make residential stops in our area, but ya, I see my UPS tracking either show up right from UPS or get passed off to USPS or DHL. One day Some unmarked sketchy pedo van dropped of a package.. I have no clue what company it was, just some dirt gray van and a dude jumps out and drops a package off at my door...

Yeah, I imagine that a dedicated shipping warehouse has software that looks at destination, weight and dimension and evaluates which shipper provides the lowest cost and fastest service. The USPS in particular has some very odd-seeming service areas where things get transported really, really fast. For example, there's a store in North Dakota (>1000 miles away) that if I order from them on a Monday, I will have the item on Wednesday. Meanwhile another location in Wisconsin (technically closer to me) will take 3-5 days at the same service level. Just the way the main routes fall, basically.
However, logistics companies live and die by that so I'd imagine they've got some pretty hefty software to fully optimize that process. It does have the net result of making it hard to say who will receive what from which company when though.

I've even had an occasional split shipment where one box has come by one courier and the other by somebody different because the size/weight made it more cost effective for the company
(fairly irritating for me waiting for the wrong van as they didn't tell me first though)

I never knew it was possible to hate a Dutchman this much...like I feel the need to go to a mini-golf course and knock over a windmill and be like "yeah! take THAT!"
Seriously though, yay for receiving and maybe I too just never got a shipping notice and a ginormous box will be waiting this afternoon. Being in the US it probably means I've not been shipped yet...but if it can happen to Brook, it can happen to anyone right?

I'll be sure to think of all you poor sods when I check the contents of each box tonight. Not really looking forward to it, but it may be prudent to check, just in case they fethed up with one of these.
To repeat a complaint I am much loathed for by now: here's hoping the instructions will pop up sooner rather than never at this rate.

Always seems I'm one of the first or one of the last to get rewards. I just wish Poots had given some inclination as to how long the process would take once started that way if I didn't get a notice in the first day or two, I could tune out for a bit.

Did a long and boring check of all boxes and everything is in order. I also decided to stick together some of the smaller kits, before I got another one of those derogatory "Uuuuugh, you must be stupid if you can't figure those out yourself" comments.
So, done right now are the Slenderman, Flower Knight, Poop Knight and Hunter, who comes with guns. Not fething crossbows like someone claimed, but actual guns. melon-fething guns. Guns your survivors can use. Guns. [MOD EDIT - PG-13, yeah? Alpharius] Oh and three of those cool witch hunter style hats, for when you really want to show off that sweet blackpowdah to the rest of the posse.
Another problem has arisen though: the core box is not big enough to hold all the expansion set cards. I went as far as to remove the resource and hunt event cards from each monster deck, but still not enough room. I've got six new monster decks still in plastic because I don't have proper space elsewhere.
Final thing, was the Gorm supposed to come with a Regen-suit pin-up?

So I had lost interest in this game with the long wait. I was about to sell my unplayed game/$1500 pledge along with over 2k of limited resins (going back to their fist minis ever made) to a local store for less than $1500... then I saw the expansions I will be recieving and am having second thoughts.
As a fan of 40k, aos, zombicide, dust, etc, how does this game compare? Is it worth holding onto, esp if I have no other gamers to share my game with (most of my family are very religious... ).

Firstly, it's a legitimately good game.
However, your comparisons are a bit off. It's not a wargame. It's closer to Zombicide in that it's completely cooperative. You, the players, make and name survivors from a settlement and the goal is to have the settlement survive until the end. The monsters you hunt and the ones that hunt you are brutal and will kill you or disable you... a lot. Much of the game is damage control.
If anything, it's almost more of an RPG than anything else. You gain stats, you gain gear, and you reroll a new character when your dies.

I have not played it anywhere near as much as I want to, but what very little I have leads me to believe it really is a great core gaming experience. It's brutally hard in it's default form, to that point that it's legitimately frustrating with the arbitrary insta-kills found with some things (Hunt Event Table, we're looking at you). The comparison to being a tabletop version of the video game Dark Souls isn't far off. Being a fully cooperative game though, it's much easier to reach an accord on house rules (e.g. - you can use your survival to avoid death during the Hunt Phase) than it would be in a competitive game where a player actually ran the monsters. It also makes it suitable for solo play, though obviously this is much less fun than in a group of like-minded people.
The way that the game somewhat organically tells the story does make it much more of an RPG than a wargame. In one tutorial match I had a friend who actually managed a natural crit on the lion's groin and gained the relevant resource card for castrating it. The next turn the lion turned around and hit them square in the head, decapitating them (a reasonable response, IMO). The lion died shortly thereafter, and the survivor death triggered an event in the settlement and further things happened to the survivors. Already in one 45 minute game session there had been an interesting story told mostly through the game itself. I believe in one interview Adam essentially stated that he loves RPGs, but he dislikes listening to six pages of description for the story; he'd much rather have short bits of text and most of the action played out in front of him and the game reflects that desire well. As mentioned by Absolutionis, you really don't focus on the survivors directly in the normal mode of play. This leads to campaigns taking on other stories as the next survivor created by the player in the tutorial was granted the honorific "the Ding-Dong Belle" as clearly there was an order of brave warrior-women started by that heroic survivor.
It's also a game where the player(s) choices matter, and they will be called upon to make a great many of them. While luck plays a decent
role in getting good outcomes, there's a great deal of "did we make the best choices to succeed?" to the game as well. The smart play can vary by enemy and even from campaign to campaign. Combined with the overall difficulty of the game itself, these many choices to be made by the players make success feel like much more of an accomplishment; success in KD:M almost never happens by accident, it happens because YOU set the events in motion to make it happen.
Turning to what first caught my eye about the project, the hobby aspect is greatly enjoyable to me. I have a toolbox/parts organizer where I have the various bodies, weapons and so forth broken out by "type". I plunk that down in front of someone with the armor set cards so they have an idea of what the armors look like and say "what do you think looks cool?" and they build a model they like. Instantly they're invested in what happens to those survivors because "that's the one *I* made" versus "that's generic hero 4327." It's another way the game grabs its players to draw them into the story they're telling with their group.
It's not a perfect game, but in the tabletop miniatures realm it's probably one of the more compelling narrative experiences I've seen come along. If you like playing an active role in a game, enjoy a good story and want to face a difficult challenge, then KD:M is going to be a top-notch game in your library. If you do not like those things then somewhat obviously it's a much more marginal situation.

I am so jealous of everyone getting their stuff! I'll have nine expansions coming to me, but no shipping yet. I'm going crazy! I am happy for you guys who've gotten their stuff, though.
But I hate you a teensy bit.
Edit: I googled where people are saying the shipping originates from, it's about nine hours away from me! It would be (almost) worth it to me to drive the nine hours to get it. Of course, I realize that I'm like an impatient child at the moment, but, damn it, this is (plastic) crack we're talking about! Lives are literally on the line! Figuratively!

I unpacked all of mine last night. My advice for everyone receiving all the expansions: have a trash bag ready for all the packing peanuts that are in every expansion's box.
Now we just need a Kickstarter to create the super box to hold this game, all the expansions, and the models.
