Here are the first few models I've finished for my Renegade Guard. They're going to be running alongside my Iron Warriors. The normal guard are going to be a mix of different models, but the mainstay are going to be Victoria Miniatures Penal Legionaries. I thought it would make sense to have "slave-like" guard with explosive collars being forced to fight. The veterans are more trench warfare inspired, with maxmini torso and legs, armed with shotguns. These are the first batch of troops that I've finished.

These are just great. Heaps of character on each model and a good paint job to boot!

My favourite though would be the guy with all the grenades. The almost manical look on the face coupled with the belt of nades just makes him look awesome.

These look great! Really inspires me to do something similar with a small traitor guard allied detachment. Also I totally agree with a previous post, the manic grenadier is my favourite

Sorry for the delay in updating my renegades. I've been busy with finals and papers. Here are a few new additions.
I need some feedback for the new heads, the Pig Iron helmets (Kolony Militia) and the Mad Robot Berets. The reason I've been using these lately is that I was given over 100 Cadians that were painted. I was able to strip them and put them in the freezer to pop their little helmeted heads off. I then sanded down all of the aquilas. Any suggestions? I know they're not as blatantly chaos as Forgeworld Models, and they're not slaves like the original Chaos Guard that I made. My thinking was to make these more stoic, disillusioned troops that might mesh well with Iron Warriors. They don't have to be crazy, just have a pleasure for knocking down walls.

Here are some more that I finished tonight. The Commander/Commissar (I haven't figured out what he will be yet) had his chainsword break off while I was priming them so I had to replace it with one of the Puppetswar daemonic swords.

Thanks, I was worried about the Sentinel, because I'm trying to not do the normal Renegade move of SPIKES, SPIKES, EVERYWHERE PUT THE SPIKES!
I'm trying to make them look a little bit utilitarian. My Iron Warriors tend to be a bit more reserved, focusing on functionality over aesthetics. I had to learn this lesson when I put together my first land raider with way too many spikes and chains. I'm working on a Chimera right now that is about the same style as the Sentinel, but it is not finished yet. I appreciate the comments, thank you all.

These look like some really great models, only problem I can see is repetition of the robot arms, and some of the steampunk guns look a bit off (like the meltagun), other than that, there's some really excellent painting here, keep up the good work!

Here's another that I just finished in between studying for finals. Not sure what these will be used for. I originally thought about Stormtroopers, having the Anvil Industries Firestorm Carbines count as Hot Shot Lasguns, but I really like the models. Maybe Veterans?

Nice spread of Victoria, Anvil and Pig Iron bits. I think the sentinel could look more dynamic, but very inspiring!

What a superb mix of parts, these are some of the most characterful renegades I've seen. Great job.

Here is a mortar crew that I've been working on. They're not as spectacular as the others, because the Pig Iron heads that I'm using are going to denote just run of the mill guardsmen. They're not veterans or anything, and I am applying them to a lot of my old loyalist guard that had their heads removed in their transition to chaos.

I think it's just the scale. They look like the Tamiya 1/35 type.
Try making some from Milliput, it's very easy and you can then arrange them to taste.

Sorry for the hiatus, I've been busy painting, but I am working on taking better pictures. I have a bunch to share, but I am not happy with the quality of the pictures I have been taking. I just got a new camera and I hope I can figure it out. However, I did finish one of my favorite units in the IG Codex, here is Sergeant Otto (counts as Marbo):
