You know the one, your favorite model or unit. The one you always take and always gets the job done. The slayer of beasts the winner of matches, the hero of the day.
Sometimes its a model or unit you dont expect or perhaps its your fine tuned evil masterminded unit, created to destroy all they see!

Well then....lets make this thread a hall dedicated to your own personal tabletop heroes. Tell us your unit and regale us with tales of victory it has brought!

The servators attached to my MotF. Two plasma cannons between the four of them have taken out untold numbers of terminators/MEQ's, in melee they take the first wounds (no good melee so im cool with them croaking) and have repaired that immobilized land raider full o killy goodness more times than you would imagine.

If 3xMissilesides with 9x Missiledrones even look at an enemy with a AV of 11 or less or T6 or less and its within 30" its going down no questions asked. Sprinkle on a few Markerlights for flava and their just kicking ass and taking names!

Forget about killing, it hardly matters.
What matters is that he often tank and entire army's worth of shooting, and lives to tell the tale.

My Tau Commander represented by Shas'o R'alai - many people use their commander in a non-combat/support role with puretide chip and other "buff" wargear, but not me.

I give him gear that represents the model: iridium armour, shield generator, vectored retrothrusters, onager gauntlet, neuroweb jammer, shield drones, cyclic ion blaster, fusion blaster.

I just love how durable and slippery he is to get a hold of combined with the brutal str 8 firepower. Expensive, but worth it every game

Besides from Eldrad Ulthran (he is so hated and feared in my FLGS that people consider it a moral victory if they can kill him) I'm gonna have to say dire avengers.

They are reliable, underestimated and will DESTROY whatever I tell them to. Then they die, but they have an uncanny knack for surviving stupid amounts of firepower after the first 5 die...

This might be a controversial choice, but I'm giving it to my ethereal. He's not afraid to sit up front with the fire warriors, at home in the middle of the gunline shouting encouragement and proclaiming destruction to all those who oppose the Greater Good.

Seriously though, if you add up all the points I've removed because of the extra pulse rifle shots and the points I've conserved because of the 6+ feel no pain (which I seem to be oddly lucky at making), not to mention that lovely bubble of leadership 10, I would say he is the most effective 80 points in my army (bought him 2 shield drones and a homing beacon so my crisis suits can always drop on top of him to bail out my gunline if necessary).

EDIT: Also, from an objective point of view he actually pays for himself because I don't have to buy sergeants for my firewarrior or pathfinder squads.

Im going to have to say one of the now OOP Metal Necron Lord models that were replaced by this guy.

Ive lost count of his antics, but those I do remember include:
- single handedly dragging the relic into my DZ against ~1500 points of IG guns
- tying a Tervigon up for 3 game turns
- one-shotting Typhus with his own weapon (I love MSS )
- killing abaddon in a 1v1 (pre 5th ed dex)
- absorbed about 13000 meltaguns, allowing my Annibarges to move about unscathed
- soloing a Trygon (again MSS)

There once was a hero named Vulkan
and in close combat he's hulkin.'
Brings the heat,
he can't be beat.
Now all my opponents are sulkin.'

I love Vulkan He'Stan. Points wise his Chapter Tactics ability amounts for nearly none of his cost, and he's still an excellent character. So long as you can avoid ID weapons, he does a pretty good job in assault (2+ models give him a little difficulty now, but he's still pretty awesome.) The army wide buff he gives is so awesome it should be criminal. (I'm really, really worried that they're going to nerf it in the next codex, actually.)

And MY Vulkan looks damn good on the tabletop. (Not a huge fan of the Gee-Dub sculpt on this one, but almost all the custom built ones rock!)

Welcome to the Freakshow!

My Nob Biker squad, and particularly the squad painboy. The FNP rolls of 5+ should be a nice little thing to have, but I always seem defy statistics when he is involved. When the bikes charge through 2 turns of 2 devastator squads without taking a single wound, he's earned his keep.

Shokk Attack Gun.

One of the first units I bought--I knew I wanted Orks, and I knew from DoW I wanted a Big Mek, and he had a freaking huge gun.

I have placed huge gobs of terminators out-of-play with that thing, dreads, and had one or two hilarious misfires. It's just so incredibly...orky: powerful, but completely random.

Plus, something feels inherently awesome when I say, "Can you pass me the large blast template, please?"

(Oh, and I kind of like the unit of Kannon with him, because hardly anyone uses Big Gunz, so putting SAG+Kannon on the field feels like my signature unit.)

Honorable mention: Grotzooka Kanz, because rolling 6 blast templates is awesome.

In my area Riptides have become really hated. Some people switch between "It's so cheesey" and "It's useless, I never see one do anything useful". But in my last 5 games I've removed 2 units of Terminators and a unit of Crisis suits the second they hit the table.

It's been my favorite model to assemble, paint, and to play with. I deploy and plan out my game, when an opponent tries to alter that by deepstriking a unit, the Riptide helps keep my plan in effect.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."
