Also, he could have bought at a variety of prices to develop his position. I have a bunch of stocks I bought in late 2008 through early 2009 that are spitting out 10%+ dividends off my original investment but only a 3% yield at today's prices.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Yep. I bought Citibank at $1 share.....buy while there's blood in the street and all that..

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Ok, for slightly more accurate figures.

In 2012 GW paid 46.24 pence per share in dividends

So £12K in yearly dividends requires him to hold 25,951(ish) shares.

In todays price (730 pence per share) this means his holding is worth about £189,446. Quite a bit but not a millionaire.

Seems like mug was a 1930s/40s slang word for you guys.

"Listen up you mugs!" I recall that from the Three Stooges, I think. Or was it lugs and I just misheard it?

There may be bugs on some of you mugs, but there aint no bugs on me.

In the interests of fairness:
A person purporting to be the FB poster (no reason not to believe it isn't the same person) posted this on Warseer. Given we've had the discussion here as well, I thought it worth reposting.
I can confirm that nellis22 is not the owner, or a member of staff at No Mans Land. I am the sole owner and only member of staff. Nellis22's comments are defensive because unlike anyone else who has commented on this thread, he actually frequents the store and knows me on a personal level. I appreciate your support nellis22

May take this opportunity to explain my comments/actions that have sparked all of this? I would greatly appreciate if people could read this and try and understand on a personal level, as I am, like all of us, a human, and we all do daft things sometimes.

Firstly, a bit about me:I have bi-polar disorder, and at the moment am not doing very well with it. I recently changed medication which is why I have been VERY up and down the last couple of weeks. My Dr has actually signed me off for 2 months, which is great, apart from that as my own employer, I can't afford to not be working. Secondly, at the time I posted the "mugs" comments which have lead to this, I had drunk too much, and made the mistake of going online.

My original comments about being a shareholder etc were blown way out of proportion. The £12000 a year was a drunken typo, meaning to be read as £1200 a year! Also my shares were bought at a much lower price than the £7.35 that they are currently worth. My Rolex's were bought as a long term investment out of an inheritance from the death of my father. I whole heartedly admit that those comments on facebook made me come across like a rich arrogant dick, I can assure you, as will anyone that knows me, that I am not rich or arrogant! But like everyone else can be a dick at times.

My gripe with GW is with GW itself as a company, and it is the retailer side of me that has this gripe. No Mans Land is a small independent shop, I make a living from it, but to be completely honest I had more of a living from my previous job. GW's pricing structures are making it very hard for bricks and mortar retailers such as myself, who can only utilise the local marketplace and not the masses of online customers. To maintain the minimum stock levels imposed on me by GW costs me alot of money, which I then can't spend on other ranges. Alot of the products I am contractually obliged to carry do not sell, so I am out of pocket. With the prices continually going up, people are more inclined to go online where they can get cheaper products, small shops like mine can not compete with online retailers such as wayland etc

I did retract my drunken statements in the same facebook thread as I made them, but they were not screen shotted before the thread was removed. I started playing GW games when I was 10 years old when my brother worked in the local GW. Like alot of people I stopped at about 15, you know, girls and beer and all that, and returned to the hobby 5 years ago after my bi-polar came to light after a long period of really deep depression, I was suicidal, and I can honestly say hand on heart, that getting back into GW stuff saved my life, and I love Games Workshop for it. I love their games and I love their products, I always will. However, I think, like a lot of other people, that their prices are getting silly. I don't think that people who buy GW products are mugs, I still buy stuff myself in GW stores. My comments were out of order, I admit that, but please believe me that I didn't mean them. t seems to be part of this hobby to get carried away on either side of arguments online. GW is very marmite at the moment, unfortunately I love and hate them! The retailer side of me hates them, as they are making things tricky for my business, but the customer side of me loves them dearly and always will.

To address the further comments made about torrents and re casts:All I said about torrents was that yes, I have personally downloaded torrents of army books. My shelf at home contains a copy of every rulebook and army book for 40k and fantasy that has been current at anytime within the last 5 or 6 years. I am legally entitled to download a digital copy of anything that I already own a hard copy of, which I do. As for the recasts, all I said was that I have bought them. The only reason I bought them was because I had a string of unusable models from Forge World that turned up late, had to be replaced etc...Over the last 5 years I have spent about £3000 on genuine FW stuff, directly from FW. A friend of mine had started buying some recasts from a guy in Russia, he showed me, they were perfect casts, everytime. So I bought a couple of bits. In any hobby, not even hobbies, just any product in general, there is always a cheaper alternative. FW stuff is expensive, those who can't afford it will seek cheaper alternatives, and with that, the only laws being broken are those doing the recasting, not the people buying them. In No Mans Land we do regular FW orders, as a service to those who want it, I don't make a penny from it, as soon as the order reaches the minimum amount for free postage, it gets sent, so everyone saves money on the postage.

As for owning a business and not being allowed to dislike companies/products that I sell...I know policeman who smoke pot and snort cocaine, you get my point? I was posting from my personal facebook account, with my personal opinions, all be it drunkenly, but they were mine, and have no reflection on how No Mans Land runs. The only way the comments were linked to the shop was that on my PERSONAL facebook profile it says in the about me section that I am the director/manager of No Mans Land.

Since those comments, which I apologised for, and retracted almost immediately, which has been ignored by the people who have started these threads, I have recieved phonecalls to the shop giving me abuse, abusive facebook messages, personal emails full of abuse, and as nellis22 said, negative reviews on facebook from people who have never been to the shop, which is unfair. Everyone says things they don't mean and that they regret, especially when drunk.

Why not come visit the shop? You'll see that everything I have just said about my character and the shop is true, just from walking in the door. Cut me some slack guys? we've all said stupid things on the internet, mine have been blown way out of proportion, and there really was no need to continue it in anyway. Please remember that I did retract and apologise immediately for my comments, but the only ones that got reposted on forums were the ones that would have most impact in a negative way. I'm only human guys, please remember that

So, what do you think?

It's interesting that he now claims they no longer stock GW - the photos of the store, new articles and webstore all show large amounts of GW stock, so I'm not sure when this 'no longer' occurred from....

I mean, seriously? You'd say that with a straight face and think you are to be taken seriously as a business owner? As if it was even part of the issue.

Best course of action- STFU and stop. end of issue. Make a short apology on behalf of the store, announce a store event, sale, etc, and move on.

All the additional spilling your heart is outright overkill on a tragic drama queen sort of level. OR we say- "I had a guy I know who frequents the store here shoot off his mouth. He doesn't work or speak for the store. I do not endorse anything this person says. stop, end of story."

Either of the two options is better then the Greek tragedy posted.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

It appears (allegedly) that following his little outburst, several complaints were made to GW (not from me I hasten to add) and pulled his stockist status.

I don't for a second condone abusive phone calls or texts - I have to say though I take that claim with a pinch of salt - it seems to be a fallback position by many who have been caught out to cry victim after being caught being naughty....
