Subject: Comrade and Ruglud's Round 5 :Tank Round:
Here's a little collage of my finished entry. Not happy at all with the pictures but they'll have to make do; I probably won't get a chance to take any better ones as Im going away for a week tomorrow.
Spoiler:
'It follered me 'ome, boss. Can I keep it?'
If I do get a chance to get better photos tomorrow, I will.

For those asking about joining, i'm sure panda will be happy to have more entries but I can't actually speak for him. Deadline is soon so I'd make a start even if you haven't heard back from him.

I just replied to everyone, so I am trying to let you know. In the future I will post this as a rule, you can always join at any point in time as long as you can finish the date of the dead line.
As far as size and things. Is it a tank? or a MC? Sure join! I am sure a well done rhino will compete well.

Well then, this looks like a perfect opportunity to introduce myself with an entry that shows a little of what I'm about; You see, tanks and vehicles are a bit of a thing of mine. I've been quietly showing my work on another corner of the internet, but it's time I start showing to a larger audience.
Let me introduce you to one of my early prototypes. Oh yeah, I guess I should mention, I also have a bit of a thing for magnets...
Things have changed since I first started building like this and my technique has improved considerably. I'm happy with how this early build turned out, but I do more to keep the build cleaner along the way, to avoid extra cleanup at the end.
I added some physical dings, scratches, and distressing to the model just before priming to give the vehicle some character.
Designation: Loricatus Pattern Mk.I Heavy Armoured Predator with Extra Armour, Havoc Launcher, and Destroyer Blades.
This humble entry is just the tip of the iceberg. I'll be setting up a WIP thread here at Dakka over the next few days. I've got lots of older projects to share, and plenty of new ideas in the works that I'll be showing step-by-step over the coming weeks and months.
@Inmygravenimage the logo was just a piece of plasticard. I freehanded the design then cut it out and added the rivets
@ProfessionalAmateur that looted carnifex is awesome, the mix of bio and mech is great
@SelvaggioSaky really great job, really entertaining piece and the tusks on the face work well
@Subtle Discord that predator rocks, the paintjob and detail is incredible

I may just miss out on making the deadline... What sucks is that I would have finished on time (if only just) if I hadn't tryed to mess about with the mask yesterday, ruining it and having to restart... then stuffing it again...

@Selvaggio, great job!
@Discord, that's... seriously chunky @Matt, if I've said once, I'll say it again - have courage, faith and beer, and it will be done!

Oh don't worry, I will complete it, just not before the deadline. The stuffing up with the head wasn't paint, it was greenstuff... so not a quick fix ;(
I will post pics when done, maybe not directly here, but I'll def post a link.
GL to everyone else!

Nae hair ...well, very little to warrant owning a hair dryer.
I'm trying to keep it warm and dry when curing but the real issue is I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew. There is so much work involved that this was going to be tight even before my mid comp delays. If I don't finish in time I'll have learnt a valuable lesson all the same which was the point of entering. Next time I'll keep it simple, or simpler at least.
Great work guys, serious contest here. Good luck to everyone.
@ Casey's Law .....If I need it quick, I cheat with the greenstuff and use a product which is way more expensive but cures in about 10 minutes. It can be mixed with GS to make it a little slower. I buy it at the hardware store, labelled as plumbers putty, for seeling leaky pipe fast. Sets like steel. Only down side is you have to be very very quick with sculpting it, or do like me Dremel sculpt after its set. Its great for building up models as its stickier than GS. It's quite expensive though. (In fact the sump on my car got a nice hole from a speed bump a while ago, Used this stuff to seal it, and over a year later still sorted.)
