Ripperdactyls?

I guess GW Creative has given up.

Well, given up after they've already given up, but, yeah.

I do love this though.
Someone posts rumors for everyone, then people proceed to insult him for it.
When it shows value, rather than apologise, they just act even more dick-like.

Being on "the internet" does not mean act like a dick to everyone.
Grow up, treat people with a little respect and you will get alot further in life.

OT: Just waiting for some pics that arent soo fuzzy.
For now, im not too keen on the flat looking dino, but thats down to alot of detail hidden.

Also, new carny does look bloody massive.

$85 for the Carni? Hell no. Looks like the lizards still aren't happening for me. Sorry GeeDubs, but that's too much. Even KF on Deathclaw and other similar kits aren't that much. Forget it!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Don't play Lizardmen so this release doesn't really affect me, but from what I can see from the images the model look pretty good. Seems like a good time to be a Lizardmen player, but if they are reduce the amount of warriors in a box it doesn't seem to be a good time to be a new player.

Latest rumors say Teradons are going to be renamed to Droprockosaurus.

Did we actually have a price confirmed?

I wonder what I can "count-as" in the grim-world of 40k

I would take the dinos, chuck the riders and put on gun turrets or artillery turrets on their back and maybe some sort of technological control device stuck to their heads.

If I was playing with my usual buddies, I'd whip up my own rules. If I was playing with a stranger, they'd be tank substitutes.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Yeah, at $85?

I will not be interested in a Carnosaur.

Agreed, particularly with the old model being so darn good! Of course, it's smaller... but it's one of my favorite GW models ever (I had one in metal until recently parting with it).

Terradons are sweet, though, and not that much of a price increase over the old (if any?) due to the material change.

There is something very weird going on with the proportions of the carnosaur. I think the forelimbs are too long, compared to real dinosaurs.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Which particular dinosaur? There were herbivores that had pretty long front limbs despite being bipedal.

Also, fantasy creatures. Even with longer limbs it's pretty much the most realistic big creature GW ever made. It also saves me the hassle of converting them for the inevitable dragon scratch build.

For me it's less the cost but more justifying the cost.

Painting a dinosaur for the sake of painting a dinosaur is not worth $85+tax.

That is a very good point that gets simplified, and thus perceived wrong, a lot. I have a very reliable income with quite a good heap of money to spare each month, I could buy an entire army if I wanted to, each month, but that is exactly the point - cost doesn't match the stuff you get. What ticks me off is their price for the individual characters. 20$. Twenty bucks, people! This is absolutely insane. Just have a look around at what similar models cost...a lot of them are <10$ and even really, really high quality stuff from e.g. Avatars of War cost ~11€ (~14$) per model. And those models are metal, not plastic!

I'm going to buy a box of LG for an awesome Tomb Blades conversion I recently saw on Dakka. But at 26€ per box? Nah. I'll wait for a second hand offer to show up.

Not sure why they bother with monsters in an edition where everyone has a cannon or steadfast. It's like.. gasp.. GW doesn't understand their own edition!

Sadly I doubt the carnosaur will have a ward save which means it'll sit on the shelf being useless as do all monsters without a ward/regen save.

The carno or trog will certainly create a nice centrepiece model with jungle scenary on the base and other lizards by its feet.

any word on cold ones being replaced?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Doesnt seem like it, all the pics shown in the WD of the Lizardmen in that MWG video showed no new cold ones.

As I had never seen the issue with our Cold Ones, I finally checked out the DE ones.

Uhhh, yeah. What's been seen can't be unseen. There's not even a comparison anymore. Wow.

Yeah. I have a unit of the older original plastic ones which I do enjoy as they match the clunky slow look of their riders! I was hoping to convert horned ones for a homebrew unit of skink riders if they had a nice new look instead of the gimped claws of the current plastics...

Glad I picked up a metal Kroq-Gar for a good price. Hopefully those new Bastiladon are as awesome as stupid skull Cannons of Khorne. It's irritating to not have any good "war machines" to field.

Of course, I've only been playing WHFB for a few months so what do I know?

Well, if salamanders count, Lizardmen have pretty darn good "war machines" even now! But I have a feeling the solar thing will be powerful... and of course it's the ugliest model. Eargh.

With the advent of plastic Carnosaurs, now my friend can finally do that Grey Knight Terminator riding a Carnosaur conversion he always wanted to do without having to use a metal (or worse, FineCost) mini!

And the Bastiladon is a bastardisation of the Anklyosaurus, much like the Stegadon is one of a Triceratops/Styrakosarus. I love it!

Yup it's pretty clearly quadrupedal (and I don't think there were many or any carnivorous quadrupedal dinosaurs in reality). Either that or it's just stupid. Latter wouldn't surprise me if Trish Morrison is still in any way involved in the animal sculpts.

Baryonyx was a bipedal carnivore that is suspected to have been able to behave like a quadruped, ala the Carnosaur.
Spinosaurus was similar as well in that regard.

Both had fairly long forelimbs but much longer hindlimbs and a kind of 'hunched' posture which leads to that kind of speculation and both were suspected of primarily having fish for their diets hence the posture and claws.
