The Inquisition censored where they had their other epic battle, but this one more than makes up for it! Awesome background, as always you keep surprising us with your attention to detail. Okay, guys, question/opinion/suggestion time:
What colour(s) should I paint my vehicles:
A) Red base with bronze trim (basically, the reverse of the SM's armour)
B) Bronze base with red trim (same as the SMs)
C) Black with trim the colour of the company (I'm kind of tempted to go with this, as it plays on black eagle logo... kind of like they're riding into battle in a black eagle...)
D) Other (Describe)
Thoughts?

Well B is similar to the "minotaur" color scheme. as is A. Id say Bronze and Black frankly, With the use of various tints of Verdigris to add contrast.

I'd recommend you try a minor tweak of the C.
The tweak would be to also use bronze & red on the "details" or on small armour panels of your vehicles.
Why ?
I've recently painted a whole Dark Angels army (custom colours, camouflaged), and the vehicle that looks the best is the last I made : almost entirely black, with a few details painted in the Marines' camouflage pattern.
It really makes it stand out from the rest of the force !
Pics of Marines, standard vehicle & black Whirlwind if you want to see for yourself.

Yeah, I think all black, but with bronze edging and red centers on those panels is going to be the way to go. Thanks for the ideas, guys!

Another vote for Galorn's sugestion. Black + Bronze details looks pretty good and you probably can paint one or another detail with the company color.

Someone on another thread mentioned how the colour scheme I chose is pretty much identical to the Minotaurs... Now, granted, I started designing this chapter (in my mind, at least) back in the days when Chapter Approved showed SMs in all kinds of funky multi-coloured camouflage and before anyone had even heard of the Minotaurs, but I've got to admit it kind of irks me; I don't want to paint these up and have people immediately think, "Oh, look, a Minotaurs army..." Do y'all think I should change the paint scheme? What if I did black armour but bronze/gold shoulder pads? That would tie in well with the vehicle scheme, too... Hmm...

Thanks, I like the fluff so far. I'm going to actually write up a number of "reports" (from the Mechanicus explorator fleet, from the Space Marines themselves, and from the Inquisition) to flesh out some of the stories a bit more, too. Automatically Appended Next Post:
When in doubt, paint and see what you think... So, I painted, and...
Well, before we get to the new paint scheme, allow me to show my Honor Guard WIP...
And who knew that the Machine Spirit of a Rhino actually ran WindowsXP? Just goes to show how old the Rhino design is...
Old paint scheme vs. new paint scheme. I've got to say, I LOVE the new paint scheme. Like, seriously love it.
Another shot of the old "We're not Minotaurs, we swear" paint scheme, and the new hotness next to it. If you'll notice the Inquisitor behind them, that's actually the limited edition Silas Hand Inquisitor miniature from Forge World (I still have the Ephrael Stern that went with it) with the limited edition Lord Solar Macaroth head swapped onto it. Yes, I know, I know, but I thought it looked cool, and considering the Roman theme for this Army, I like it even more now.
Another look. Don't judge the painting too harshly, please. I kinda rushed through it just to see how I'd like it.
Love love love the gold shoulder pads (it's actually about 6 layers building up from bronze to gold, so has a great depth to it in person. I like the way the wings on the chest came out, too.
Again, don't judge me. I was tired, yes, I know, the paint job sucks, but it was just a test guy.

Thanks, man!! I've got to say, I was worried about losing the Roman feel to the army in changing the colours of the armour, but quite honestly with the way I built up the shoulder pads it feels even more like ancient armor to me. I'm thrilled at how it's going to look. AND as a bonus, it's going to be quicker to paint overall, I think. AND as an added bonus I think it will make for some great looking vehicles.
Now to just get a method for painting the black miniatures that I like... Automatically Appended Next Post: As an aside, standing on the far side of the room, I will say the newer miniature really stands out versus the old one. Those big gold shoulder pads look great, IMHO.

Heck yeah I did, I'd give it an awesome even if it were photoshopped. The windows logo and maybe the admech skulls look fairly decal-ish to me, but the rest of it looks normal, and its an inspiring piece for something that goes INSIDE of an ENCLOSED tank and isn't all that likely to be seen without a conscious effort to display it. So, Kudos

No way! You can't let wasps stop you! Its not like they're ground bees or anything. You just need a can of that spray, drops 'em dead. Or some thick clothes, do it desert style with some shades or goggles and everything else wrapped in some kind of cloth! You can manage! Tough it out, we like to see painted models! Will dig through the fluff (and take a closer look at the pictures) when I get some proper downtime. Right now I may scrape out an hour or two a day for hobby time (including time to hang out on the forums =/), so I try to ply it to finishing my current project, however, I am intensely curious to give it all a read! Thanks! Yeah, I definitely need to get some more decal paper. I'm thinking about having my Land Raiders run OSX, since the Machine Spirit in a LR is more advanced than that of a Rhino...
Sounds good. And OSX makes sense. Obviously a government as harsh and restrictive as the imperium of man would be delighted to have a company like apple working for it (not that microsoft, or google, or any of them, are really much better when you get down to it )!

So, I decided to move my painting/modeling station over by the window (better light and better view).
If you look at the upper right corner of the desk you'll see about a squad's worth of Marines ready for the new paint scheme. Now, if I could just figure out what to do with the guys on the lower left corner that I already did the base coat for the old paint scheme...
Just a few things to build... A couple hundred bits' worth of Space Marines, a Land Raider Helios, a Land Raider Prometheus, a Predator, a Razorback (with FW turret), a Razorback (with regular turret), and a Rhino. Oh, and 5 Land Speeders and 7 bikes.
The painting station.

Nice spot. My desk is far too cluttered and messy to take a nice picture like that of it! Limited hobby time, I'd rather paint than clean my desk
Its an impressive array of marines and their bits.
As for the guys that got based already... You live in America, LATA (la's totally awesome) works pretty well. Or if the paint wasn't too thick, you could just re-prime them, I'm lazy and inclined to do that (although I'm lazy and don't have neat 6 layered bronze/gold shoulderpads)
