Thanks Brian! Never one to say no to some hazard striping, but I wouldn't know where to add some. Ideas?

Thank you, Cam!

Indeed it did. Good call, Graven, thanks!

Dr H wrote:Nice job. Looks great, good contrast between the grey crane and the lighter floor and walls..

Thank, Dr. (Lack of) Contrast is usually one of my weak points, glad it turned up nice in this one!

Moving on, new WIP: Chopped, diced and reglued. Sort of.

I had the idea for something like this for quite some time, finally got around to stat it last weekend. Too small to count-as a Mechanicus Kastelan, it might still pass for a Kataphron proxy, or maybe it will be reattached (see what I tried to do there?) to the Guard as an Ogryn bodyguard.

Thanks for stopping by!

In all honesty, it looks great workout them. The crane itself is where I'd put them, as that's the big thing swinging around.

Brian: Of course you are right, the end of the boom IS the dangerous end, but I was afraid the stripes wouldn't look right there (it is quite thin) and would end up too busy.

Makes much more sense then where they are now for sure!

Guess I'll just head-cannon it one of those (quite annoying, BTW) heavy-machinery-in-reverse kind of warning sirens, then!

Colour-scheme stuck again, I appeal to those who know better!

How to paint the tanks and hoses to the mask?

Same red as the fists and helmet for the banding on the tanks, and dark bronze (something between Tinbitz or Vallejo's Tinny Tin and Warplock Bronze) for the hoses... ?

And the tanks? Yellow doesn't sound too good, and a vivid orange (either signalling "dangerous" content) might not complement the rusty red...

C&C needed,

Thanks for stopping by!

I usually do hoses like that a gloss black by default.

The tanks... depends on what's in them.
Most gas tanks are either black or metallic. Identification of non-hazardous gasses is often by a coloured top.
Dangerous gasses tend to get red tanks. I can't think of any other colours I've seen.

However, if that's all the colours on the model there you want something to contrast with the rest of him to break up the rear view.
Matching red would be too much coordination I think.
A non matching red (say more crimson than scarlet) may work but may not contrast enough.

Black would work, but a bit "boring" if you want him colourful.

A blue would contrast with the orange-red, and make it dark and it'll break up the back too.But then he's got blue trousers...

Personally, I'd probably go steel with brass bands. and a vivid red tap at the bottom (if that's what I think it is). Chrome fittings and gloss black hoses.

Thanks, Dr.!

Not much done, mostly assembling (of the stock, boring type, except with magnets), will update when it gets interesting.

In the meantime, I did manage to paint a second Techpriest, I love this mini!

Periodical proof-of-life update!

A couple half assembled and less-than-half painted things on the workbench, but not much to write about...

I did put together and fully magnetized all the options I had at hand of a Leman Russ MBT:

Primed and ready for the (sometime, in an nebulous future, maybe) paint:

(Track are primed too, I just forgot to get them in for the photo, )

And pre-primer WIP:

Lots of options for one set of tracks:
- 4 main guns (but no plasma, )
- 2 possible hull weapons (Bolter and Lasscannon, no flamer)
- Detachable side sponsons, with 4 weapon options (Flamer, plasma, melta and heavy bolters. Guess one of the flamers can go on the front if not used here)

Lots of drilled barrels, and some poor fits from a half bred plastic and resin mix of dubious second (or maybe fourth) hand origin.

At least, I got to have some fun not gluing the around 20 magnets the wrong way,

I'll update when (if) there is some more colour on it!

Cheers!

Close to finished the second Armiger:

Arms are magnetized, so someday I might try to build the guns to have to option to field it as a Helverin.

I am trying (struggling) to push up contrast in my colour schemes, glad you think it's working.

IDK why you'd do that, 40K being such a serious thing,

Little Knight got gloss varnished, decaled (I had been dreading the decals stage, but it was not as bad as I'd feared), gloss varnished again and matt after that, and some basing.

Pics will come sooner or later, trying to hunt down a proper lightbox (So it miraculously makes my photos come out right for a change, )

Thinking about finishing the Kataphron next.

Cheers!

I finally got around to building the cannons to convert the already magnetized Armiger into a longer-range Heleverin in case on need (Or just because)

Dry-fitting:

Some details added, and primmered (white, I ran out of the official-looking grey, and did not want to wait):

Those look great! What did you use to drill the barrel flash ports? They're straight and even!

Thanks!

Circle centering and tube drilling gigs:

The not-Millenium-Falcon thingy for centering circles and, in this case, also the 90° angle on the pipe. The "craddle" (two 45° pieces), to hold the tube for a straight vertical drilling.

And patience, and some luck, too

(Stretching my command of the language here, hope it makes sense)

Standard woodworking jigs. Perfect for scratch building too. As evinced by the high quality of work Mr. Littletower does.

Nicely painted too. I'm staring at the photos, looking for something I can offer a suggestion about and I am drawing, or seeing, nothing that needs a suggestion. Ah, that's it! It's so clean.
