From what the trailer shows, it doesn't look nearly as well executed as the old ones. What made Robocop so cool was that he was, for the most part, devoid of emotions and memories. He was a soulless badass who occasionally would get memories at a trickle and feel emotions in a mercurial fashion.

This look like a drama...Robocop: The Musical.
Agreed, this guy seems to have too much humanity. I'll still enjoy it though.
Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?
Looks like they are playing off the black armor as OCP playing the "marketing gimmick" card to sell their stuff using him as a posterboy.
"By this point I'm convinced 100% that every single race in the 40k universe have somehow tapped into the ork ability to just have their tech work because they think it should."
Gary Oldman, Jackie Earle Haley and Samuel L. Jackson. They better not this up. Though that trailer's makes it look a bit too much like a cheap action flick (and not in the awesome Dredd way). ...Here's hoping its just a poor trailer.
I was poised to crap my pants in nerdrage at this, but then I saw Samuel L Jackson and all was forgiven.
I am now cautiously optimistic; though I am also confident they are totally going to miss all the satire elements that made the original a classic, at least in my book. I just hope they don't go for the PG-13.

I don't mind anything I have seen so far other than Murphy retaining too much of his humanity. Peter Weller's intentionally stilted and deadpan portrayal was what sold the original character.

Okay, I haven't even started watching, but when you tag a video as "High Quality", I shouldn't be stuck with 360p or whatever. I mean, I'm not even a resolution snob, but that's kind of surprising itself.
Yeah, okay, I'm a fan of 1 and 2, this seems fun enough to check out in theaters. Low expectations, as long as the action and effects deliver I'll be fine.
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Don't forget Keaton! Seriously, the line up on this film alone should mean it's not crap. When was the last time you guys saw Oldman in a bad film? Just curious

Even if you don't like HP, Oldman made an excellent Sirius Black.

so it'll be like the original Robocop without any of the excellent character actors, social parody, and comedic tones to offset the commercial violence. so this Robocop will have no soul.
i'm also disappointed that they kept most of his limbs/etc. the original Robocop was excellent in that the only thing left that was human was his face and "parts of his digestive tract, most of his brain, several organs"; already dehumanizing his character and making his statement of "Murphy had a wife and son. What happened to them?" so meaningful, and of course, the very last line of the movie, when he identifies himself as "Murphy". of course, the entire length of the film, Robo goes from very stiff robotic actions to more human-like movements after his helmet is removed. from the remake's trailer, they seem to be abandoning the cold detachment that made Murphy's human->cyborg->human transformation and character progression so powerful.
one of my friends said, "Yeah, I'm pretty annoyed that they seem to have decided to have him retain all of his memories from the start. Also, carbombing is a pretty weak way for him to go out, compared to how he died in the original movie."
i agree - where's the personal connection to his executioners? because of him watching these creeps blowing him apart, is what allows him to make the connection when Emil recognizes him at the gas station, which causes him to go look up Emil's accomplices, find Clarence Boddicker, and Alex Murphy's DECEASED personnel file.
all in all, it looks like a very milquetoast PG-13 family friendly cash-grab remake.
