I'm reading the fun Combat Patrol rules for Imperial Knights!

The Armigers have the exact same statline as regular games.

And we only have 1 way to get victory points. Every turn, we select an objective, and our opponent selects one. +5 vp if you claim your own. +10 if you claim the one your opponent selected.

Sorry DarkBlack, I missed your reply, I didn't intend to ignore you. I am very tempted to use some of the Trench Crusade miniatures in a Human Defence Force. If not in Grimdark Future then certainly in GF Firefight.

As for today, I painted my first Orks since the launch of 40K. Two test paints before I get stuck into assembly. Pic below:

(40k) The Chaos Cultists (with firearms) in my CK Iconoclast Fiefdom have really been putting in work - not just serving as buff snacks for the Knights, but holding objectives, doing secondaries, accomplishing agendas, and killing things in the local shops Escalation & Crusade leagues.
All 3 squads have earned paint.
They are an assortment of 3rd hand, poorly & partially painted, Tallarns I picked up ages ago.

So tonight?
*All their bases have now been standardized to a Corax base coat with different colored rims to denote squads - just as I do with most squads in my other forces. (finished tops to come later)
*all non-painted weapons are now black + dry brushed silver
*assorted details in each squad have been picked out
it'll be a long time before any of the squads are truly finished though.

This took me way longer to finally paint than I thought, and I don't just mean that this unit has been primed and sitting in a box since 2008. This unit is one of my first conversions ever so behold!

My Inner Circle Arc Knights of Averland. The bodyguard of House Leitdorf. Now I haven't glued the knights to the horses yet because...well...as anyone who has had to put together Empire Knights knows their legs are splayed out and their feet get in each others way. So they are held down by Sticky tack. and will probably stay that way.

One thing I will say about the Old World. The increased base sizes make ranking these guys up MUCH easier!

I finished my Old One Eye a few days ago, and started another project already!

Got my converted Hive Guards and Tyrant Guards out and they are next in line!

The Tyrant Guard already had 4 models painted (previous edition unit size), so I need to paint the 2 other to finish up the full unit.

The Hive Guards had 1 model painted way back in 8th edition when I tested the concept and also my colour scheme! Over time I managed to get the needed parts and build the unit, but never painted the rest.

We played a game of Kill Team 2018 (1st edition?) last evening

Asuryani - Striking Scorpions Exarch with Scorpion's Claw & 6 Striking Scorpions (Me)
vs
Space Marines - 5 Reivers

Scenario Feint
Result: End of turn 5, SM win due to tiebreaker of being defender.

We each had 2 models remaining.
My Combat Specialist and a mook, each with Flesh Wounds
He had his Veteran Specialist and a mook with one wound remaining.

We were tied up in melee almost from turn 1.
I failed to remember to disengage and take objectives.

Primed my Striking Scorpions after getting home from the LFGS.

Shopping for bases for Kommando Orks.

This would be easier if there weren't 10×32mm and 2×25mm bases to hunt for.

This Kommando unit might be fighting on industrial bases.

I've started working on my first 5-man Scarab Occult Termis, and oof did I not miss the trims on TS It's quite painful after so many rapid-fire (and easy) Tyranids!

But while in the middle of it, I decided I need to build my last (6th) Custodes Venatari for an upcomming game. Was using them as 5-man unit in previous edition, but now it's 3 or 6. And I used the leftover legs for a conversion (Blade Champion) a while ago, so creativity will be needed here! Got a temporary 3D printed part for the legs, but boy oh boy do they looks like crap! Very very few design available (2 that I could find searching everywhere), and none look even half-decent (or usable really, its that dire)! Gonna have to resort to the good old "I'm gonna sculpt them myself with greenstuff". But for the game, the aweful 3D printed will have to do (gonna blu-tack them on or something so I can take them off).

Tyranids army - Ever evolving, but about 10k pts
