Kitbashed the last of my Stargrave Mercs into Skitarii, then build the Kataphron, and finally built the big walker thing - Onagar Dunestrider? that comes in the combat patrol.
Phew. That was some FIDDLY ass building. Not really an enjoyable experience but the end results are lovely.
Nearly at the end (build wise) of my 40k stuff now. A few bits and bobs and it'll all be built. I'm gonna get some chunks primed as well and I'll tap away at painting through the winter.
Feels good though, to make a dent in the Pile and shrink it's volume by getting stuff off of sprues. My fantasy Pile will be much less annoying to work through because it's not as much modern GW stuff, which I find an absolute chore to assemble.

Today I dug out an Escher and Goliath box that I got half price back in 2018 and assembled them.
And wow, I should not have waited so long! They are lovely kits, go together really nicely, and have a load of character. I only wish the Goliaths were on 25mm as is proper and civilised.
I've now got 4 boxes left in the pile to assemble. Of course, lots to paint still, but assembly is a major stumbling block for me.

I've been editing my homebrew Grimdark Future/Grimdark Future Firefight armies to be more inline with the 3.5 update and changing some lists, too.
Because I couldn't find minis I deemed fitting for the enemies of my next Five Parsecs encounter (Guild Troops) I assembled some Stargrave minis and applied milliput to their bases.

Not much hobbying done this weekend. A few weeks ago I was playing with my Ogre army and I knocked my converted BSB over causing him to get damaged and have a few piece break off. Luckily it's metal so fixing it was easy. I just have to finish repairing the chipped paint then re-varnish it to seal it all up.

I got a whole lot of plastic Tupperware-style containers today and used some time applying the 3M double-sided sticker thingies to the lids for the minis. Then it was the kids' miniature game day, which was a lot of fun! After getting home, I finished painting the six Stargrave minis I need to use as enemies in my next FIve Parsecs encounter.

Continuing to paint the faces/hands on my BA Germans.
This is actually the easy part as it's only a tiny portion of each model & practically everyone else will be focused on the uniforms/equipment/tanks. But you gotta start somewhere....
So a quick base coat & a wash. There's just a lot of them.
Waiting on the mail to drop off my bag-o-cheap-Zombies so I can get them glued to bases & then dropped off to the shop to serve as Armageddon Crusade demonic adversaries in time for round two matches.

In the Hobby Room. The Room of Hobby.
I’ve done some research, and understand for best results I need to keep the printer itself out of direct sunlight, and I’ll be doing just that.

So the hobby room is perhaps the worst choice of place for a 3D printer. Resin 3D printers basically spew out nasty organic particles whilst printing; then the whole process spews out EVEN MORE during washing and curing.
So you want that printer to be in a room that is not generally used, since you'll be wearing your respirator (with filters rated to filter organic particles) when going in the room to tend to the printer.
Some people will put them in a growers tend to help preserve temperature (20C+ is required and around 28C is ideal for most resins) and contain some of the smell, but its not air sealed. Even if you attach a fan and duct pipe to vent the air outside; it does nothing for when you open it up and start washing and curing
Best place (esp for a new homeowner) SHED or attic or garage that is unused or outbuilding or such. Basically places you don't live and breath in without airway protection.

That’s like, effort. I’ve got masks of suitable rating. Also grew up in and around Grandad’s printshop, so nasty fumes have never really bothered me.

I wrote up the BatRep in my Five Parsecs Campaign diary. Going with pencil and paper, how quaint, huh? I also rolled through the details of the 11th Campaign Turn and the next encounter(s). It's the 2nd encounter of the Story Track in the core rulebook, and I'm confused how it works, so I decided I had to play through the Story encounter, then the encounter the crew is on for the Campaign Turn. Ivan, you're great, I love your game, dude, but can you please write things with a bit more clarity? Or it might just be me being a "dumbo" as the kids used to say, which is quite likely, knowing me, lol.

Cleaned the nubs off my mantic ruins and did a test fit. Actually found the connectors were more often too loose than too tight. But with enough I was able to make a fairly sturdy piece. I am planning to go against advice and keep it all unglued, as I value the ability to flatpack it really highly.

I assembled the pilot chick with my new Anaconda Mercenary TAG from Infinity the first large all white metal miniature so large I've worked on and started to assemble the mech suit itself, but I managed to lost its right arm, somehow.

I did that, just be careful if you want to keep them modular because the primer and the wash flows into those holes sticking the parts together strongly if you prime the buildings after assemblage. My dad suggested I use white tack and put it into the holes then prime the panels separately, it worked but I really do not recommend this as it has to be one of the most tedious things I've ever done doing it literally dozens and dozens of times, then extracting the white tach from the holes was somehow even worse, eventually, I used a Dremel with a thin end to drill out the white tach. It all turned out to be a waste of time as I have never dissembled the buildings.

Thanks for the advice! I was gonna give them a fairly light grey prime and then a drybrush and wash before picking out details, but I was planning to that to the unassembled tiles. I figure it'll make the fit a bit tighter but if I run into problems I'll give them a rub with a file and see how I get on. I'm hoping to sort of "machine" through these, doing sets of identical tiles in batches over the next while. If I like how it all works I might pick up the Ruined City once it's all painted up but I need to see how it actually works out first. If I decide to glue it I'll use super glue, less secure than plastic glue but ah well.
As to hobby stuff, today I assembled 5 stalkers from my Veer Myn strike force. I hmmed and hawed about what to do with these guys, because I really would prefer a LESS ratty look, more alien with rat like features, but my fix is that I'm gonna use the gas mask heads for them and when I paint them I'm going to avoid the usual browns and so on, and stick to a palid, fleshy tone for their exposed arms and faces, and maybe subdued grey for any fur.
I thought about doing a headswap with North Star reptilian heads but the test model was just too jarring and the actual heads are nicely detailed so I went with them.
On the plus side, they go together nicely and posing the tails can give a lot of character to the minis. I'm looking forward to getting them all done and painted, thinking battered black armour rather than mantic's questionable yellow scheme!
