Is this one like their others with an add on pledge manager post kickstarter? I'm tapped now, but would like to pledge a placeholder buck and then up it when I can in a few weeks.

^ Yep, there is an extensive pledge manager post-KS.

I haven't seen anything about requiring to pledge while the campaign is running to qualify for some of the rewards either so might increase my pledge above $300 in the survey... $200 is as far as I can reasonably go at the moment with xmas looming.

For anyone thinking of hopping in, here's what the $150 level currently looks like, tons of stuff.. 70 minis, 2 medium vehicles, gigantic stompy robot and giant bug, as well as all the terrain, mats and other stuff:

Yeah the free collectors edition at ~$800 and free alternate pose minis at $500 was a good incentive to pledge big during the KS for deadzone, it's not really there now. There's the hardcover rulebook at $200, but not sure if that needs to be during the KS.

I'm going to enjoy Mars Attacks, but imagine if Mantic got the AvP license instead. 70 minis... but aliens, predators and colonial marines, with rules compatible with deadzone factions. Playable on boards 2x2-6x4. I'll shut up now before I get depressed at reality ; p

^ There's also the alt resin regent and banner bearer at $350 and $500.

If Mantic got the AvP license the minis would most likely have to be more expensive too. The cool thing about Mars Attacks is that Topps approached Mantic and pretty much gave away the licensing for it because they wanted to see the product produced as a way of sparking increased interest in their own relaunched card line and other merch.

Oh ok didn't know that. I'm in at $335 so I get the banner bearer at least. Can't justify $500 though.

funds added in the survey don't count for bonus stuff based on amount pledged it must be made during the KS - It's in the pdf

http://www.manticblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Guide-v0.6.pdf

These are special FREE bonuses that you get for backing at a certain level or above. This is based solely on your Pledge Total (the amount in dollars that you pledge through Kickstarter
, including, shipping, etc.) so it does not matter which reward level you choose. Please note that this does not take into account anything you add after the Kickstarter closes, e.g. at the survey stage. These bonuses are cumulative, and we have included all relevant pledge

Reminds me of some of the Void minis like this one:

Actually, $350 gets the alternate regent and $500 gets the alternate banner bearer (although it was initially referred to as a 'diorama'). You still get the normal plastic version of both though, and the hardback rules compilation for being over $200.

Also, just to confirm a personal reply from Mantic - just spending $300+ does NOT get the extra shrink ray robot and mini soldiers, only the AA and BOTB pledges do. All the other "dollar level" bonuses only care about the amount pledged though.

Which means I'll have to jettison from my EB1 IA at some point, and go to my BOTB on my second account. Which is irksome (Kickstarter only allows one account per email address), but I suppose is the price of hedging my bets!

i was aksed about the size of various cars via Twitter.. and popped up a couple of the cars against a hasslefree figure and a 15mm figure on our facebookpage:

this has the crown-victoria taxi on the left, the burned-out version behind the main guy, and the GM crashed cop-car in the background.

Oh very nice Antenociti, thanks for that. I wasn't going in for them... but they look good next to minis, perfect scale.

i havent had a chance to keep up with the comments here or on the KS for this one, so if there's any questions about any of the resin parts... please ask them now and I will try to answer them ASAP over the weekend.

They seem straight forward, but one question I guess... are the bigger things like cars solid hunks of resin or hollow?

So tempted by even a $100 pledge. I am going to the dogs tonight, so a little win here or there will see me pledge in the morning. Vacant Trap seems like a popular dog name.

Love those cars, definitely need them. Seeing the Crown-Vics makes me shed a single tear though. The model's been retired and is being phased out in taxi companies and police forces all accross NA.

Damn, and here I was, thinking I could keep my pledge to $300...

It is a diorama, the banner bearer is different.

That's included in Alien Abduction and Botb.

She looks kind of like a dwarf. I think her lower torso and hips are squashed or something. Of course, if she's supposed to be a dwarf, then that's excellent.

She's an action hero, not a supermodel.

solid, sadly there was no way to make hollow-framed vehicles for the price-point.

we will probably do hollow-framed vehicles off our own bat in 2014 though.

Yet so far. I've been in this campaign since the beginning waiting for the iconic curvy females Mars Attacks is so well known for. There are also way too many good campaigns going on right now. Finally, this model tipped me over the deep end.

I can finally, with confidence, drop my pledge now.

This model is quite a disappointment. There's nothing curvy or feminine about her. She looks like a man with breasts. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but it's not what I was expecting considering the lack of female in the campaign.

You do know they're doing the curvy civilians in the civilians pack?

To each their own of course, but I like the more "realistic" woman pictured above, it's pretty rare to get that. These would be the civvies SS is referring to I think. They're not glamorous, but they seem more the damsel in distress. I'd recommend Brother Vinni ladies for greywulf tbh, though keep in mind they can be NSFW.

I agree with Bob - all issues of "sexiness" aside that render just looks terrible.

Mantic, thus far in the Mars Attacks KS, has been way more solid and consistent than Mantic usually is in terms of renders/sculpts/paint jobs - but this one's a big mis-step. Needs work.

I thought she looked pretty awesome, in a Saints Row 3 sort of way.

Until you guys had to point that out and I realised that her torso looks longer than her legs. I'm not an artist pretty sure that's not right...

Can't win them all, I guess. There were already several Kickstarters based around cheesecake, I'm sure there will be more in the future. Might want to look at Bombshell Babes or something instead.

If you think I was complaining because I wanted a supermodel, you are very much mistaken. I was simply surprised that she is a female miniature only 5 (5 and a half?) heads tall with a torso thicker than her thigh. That's actually refreshing. Naturally, I assumed it was a mistake.

I do kind of have issues with her vacuum-sealed shirt, though. Action heroes should have proper support. There's a reason my wife won't ever go hiking or jogging without a bra again.

Honestly, I do still think it's a mistake. Usually you don't see an artist decide to go for realistic, non-ideal proportions and then also decide to paint a saran wrap shirt over the woman's well-defined double D's.
