Mine came in a couple days ago. Will of man custom pledge with the escalation add-on for my credit as well as deadzone, AI decks and dreadball team. This could be the best overall KS deal I've backed. I picked up the core set at Gencon, so the free stuff and add ons were the only thing in the box and I kind of still can't believe how much was in there for a base $95 pledge. Other than the misprinted back of the deadzone decks and a single bent beloss bel figure, everything looks good. Finishing painting up some flames of war figs, then deadzone phase 2 for this year, but thinking Q1 2015 will be all about MA.

Got mine, really happy with it all. Worst is some of the thinner models or pieces are bent but are easily fixable and nothing looks broken nor was anything missing. Minimal mould lines, good detail. Lined up my first game for 'sarvo - gotta love the out of the box playable! Quickly clipped some terrain together for the first game which was real easy, sorted all the minis into respective resealable bags and should be good to go once I finish reading the rules. This is something like 1/20th of the terrain I have, just wanted something basic to get started with asap ; )

Not done a full inspection, but aside from a few bent ankles and swords one of my mutant ants has a claw snapped off, and it isn't in the bag so it looks like it snapped off either in the factory or in the warehouse before getting bagged.

Debating whether or not to get another one, or just keep him as is. I suppose that will depend on whether or not I have much else missing or needing replacement.

Mine finally arrived this week too (yay for kickstarter )

The Bad: Beloss Bel is terrible, the mutant dog has a horrible mono leg that they hid in all the pictures, and I think I got the wrong giant bug. A lot of bent figures. Helmets...

The Good: Most of it! The books are beautiful, as is the flying saucer, as are the Tiger Corps, as is ...almost everything Martian! The scenic accessories are ace, especially the simpler pieces - fusebox, rubbish bin, mailbox etc.

The Ugly: Some of the civilians are underwhelming. This is isn't a huge issue for me as I have some lovely civilian models from Hasslefree and Crooked Dice, so outside of Mars attacks they'll only ever be generic female cop, teenager etc but as heroes they are lacking, and aren't going to convert anyone to Mantic's cause - definitely sub Zombicide in sculpt quality.

The intact scenery is a little disappointing in the lack of variety in the designs - I would have preferred more window and door types, maybe some patterned or structural brickwork - but it's nice each panel has both a brick and an internal/plasterboard/roof style side. The elongated diamond double connectors (see pic) are useful but ugly - a brick buttress style column would have been so much more useful - and only really look acceptable as a roof feature. It is useful and quick modular terrain, but it will take a fair bit of work to stop buildings looking like ugly prefabs. I knocked up a convenience store in 5 min:

-but my dreams of making a Tate Modern style brick cathedral are dashed.
The half height wall is useful for parking lots, flowerbeds etc:

I'm going to base this with a tile floor and litter and have it as a dry fountain (think Way of the Gun )

Now hopefully to get a game in!

Oh, and I ended up with FIVE deadzone accessory sprues somehow! I asked for one, and I think one was a freebie apology for late delivery, but the rest? Not complaining but only the lamppost really works in the MA setting, nothing else looks right.

Yeah, the intact scenery isn't nice at all and the connectors are much more obtrusive than on the Deadzone panels.

I've seen the double connectors used along the top edge to make shop signs, that works well.

Okay unpacking my box, here's my missing stuff.

1 Resin Wrecked Car
2 Intact Scenery Set
2 Ruined Scenery Set

And no helmets in the boxed set (I didn't miss them, I can see the helmets for all my add-ons just fine)

Oh, and the hardback rulebook. Or has that been cancelled entirely?

I don't think they shipped the hard cover rulebook yet.

The hardcover was going to delay everything so they're going out separately. It was in an update.

Any one else have a fuzzy print on their delux mat?

The deadzone one is awesome but the Mars attacks one is really lacking in sharpness compared to the paper mats

The color seems a bit weird on mine. Like it's too dark or something.

I didn't get any deluxe mats, but I noticed the paper mat in the boxed set is definitely of worse quality than the extras from Escalation.

Good to know the Mars Attacks mats aren't up to par. I was considering getting one.

My mat is a bit hard to make it the squares too.

Deadzone one is great on the other hand.

Weren't we supposed to get some sort of apology bonus for the late shipping due to the robot mishap? Was that ever mentioned? What was the bonus we got? Or am I just imagining it all?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

The bonus was that they sent us all positive energy, man.

Well to be fair Dakka needs all the positive energy it can get

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

My box arrived yesterday, and for some reason I had to pay ¥1200 for consumption tax or something like that. No big deal, but certainly unexpected. Also unexpected? The box was really, really small. I haven't had a chance to open it yet, but I wonder if I have a second, much bigger box coming later...

Now showing Catachan Jungle Fighters and World War zombies!

Painting total as of 30th November 2025: 136 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

The stuff is all fairly compact. Just baggies of minis and wall pieces already clipped off the sprue.

I have played the first 4 scenarios so far (alternating factions with my opponent) and we had an absolute blast. I didn't think you could streamline Deadzone any further without losing most of its tactical depth but Jake has done it, and he made it properly cinematic as well in the way GW always tries to but always fails.

^Yeah I really felt like the battlefield was interacting with us when I played. All of your careful plans can go to hell when a robot kicks are car from offstage right through your lines, or big bugs swarm in off the map in the wake of burning cattle

Apologies if this has been answered before, but has everything from the MA KS been shipped by now?

I was in for a few add ons after the KS ended so don't have the up date emails. I haven't received anything yet (only in for add ons, not the core game) so I don't know if I should contact anyone yet.

Great, cheers, Grim. I'll hold off another week, but being 'outside the system' I'm a little concerned I might have been missed.

Thanks again/
