I view this stuff much like how I view militant religious extremism. It exists because people with those ideas are LOSING, and so they thrash around wildly and loudly in the face of a world that's slowly but surely becoming more tolerant and leaving them behind.
In this specific case, the many people who shrugged and said "huh...the first Indian-American Miss America...that's nice" weren't motivated to pop off on Twitter about it.
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

So wait, in a multicultural society someone who isn't white could enter, and win? I'm shocked I tell you, shocked

*Disappointed Face* Common people, get it together...
As a recent immigrant let me just say that stupidity knows no national boundaries and needs no passport, nor visa. Idiots exist everywhere.

One would think that social conventions would dictate that no, if a woman is married she cannot compete in MISS USA... IIRC, dont they have a MRS USA competition out there? What a horrible idea if not.
I really don't understand the problem. She's really hot.

Visited a friend at his new place in Toronto, did not see a single "white guy" except him in the neighborhood. I swear 1/3rd of the population of Canada will be East Indian: they are the #1 immigrant. Get used to it, it is the "global village".
Care to name a city in India where 1/3rd of the population is white. It's hardly a global village if the only place you see this global village is in Western countries.
Anyway, there have been several brown and black Miss Americas so the only thing that seems to be going on here is that she used Indian culture rather than "American" culture in the show.
I my own words "only two types of people care about this.
1: the (very vocal) 1.5% of the population that still hold membership with the KKK
2: Internet Trolls which, sadly, make up about 35% of the population."

Not to be pedantic, but there is a difference between Miss USA and Miss America... the former is a beauty contest that involves charitable works, and the latter is just a beauty contest...
>_>
Not that I've done research....

I'd also like to note that, in rebuttal to the US is EVILLZZZ RACISTS because of some twitterjerks, I believe the Miss America contest already had several African American winners.
OT but if they are married can they compete?
There are two separate things.
Clearly overt institutional racism is over or there would never have been any non-white winners, however the Twitterstorm is an ugly public display of individual racism.

Lol, point taken... Now if we were talking about Miss Universe on the otherhand......
Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.
Of course he meant it as a joke. So did the guy who threatened to blow up the airport; he was acquitted on appeal.
That's the thing with jokes. You always have to be mindful of your target audience, especially when said audience decides if you get to enter a country or not
