So, here's some good news.
"
Sorry to be brief,
When demand far outstrips supply we do tend to make product that was first released at a convention available in some additional form at a later date.
For those that aren’t aware the following are planned to be available at the forthcoming WizKids opens http://www.wizkidseventsystem.com/open.php.
Top 4
• Star Trek: Attack Wing Khan Promo Card
Top 8
• Star Trek: Attack Wing Cloaked Ship Pack
Top 16 (if applicable)
• Star Trek: Attack Wing Deep Space Nine Upgrade Card pack
Prizing after Swiss Rounds
• All players with 2 wins (who did not make cut to Top 16): 2 random cards from Deep Space Nine Upgrade Card pack
• All players with 1 win: 1 random card from Deep Space Nine Card Upgrade Card pack Card
• Red Shirt Prize (8 awarded)— All players with 0 wins: 1 random card from Deep Space Nine Card Upgrade Card pack Card
* Prize Structure subject to change.
We understand not everyone is near these venues (particularly our international customers). With the significant excitement and demand for the Deep Space Nine Upgrade Card pack we are also planning at making the pack included in a future retail sku.
Thank you for your support, we do appreciate it.

I'm still in the planning stages and pondering upscaling many of the larger ships, my principal issue is the D'Deridex size, but the Dominion Battleship also gives me heartburn. I may well use furuta/eaglemoss for the big boats, micromachine/attack wing for the voyager/ktinga/galor middle size and shapeways for little things like b'rel, defiance, scarabs etc.

I've done some lazy washes on some ships, full repaints on others.
Druchii Violet Shade over the Jem Hadar Ships
Coelia Greenshade err shade over the D'deridex.
Agrax Earthshade over the Cardassians and Breen. - Except the Keldon on the left, I used Seraphim Sepia for that. - Agrax looked FAR better.
Coelia Greenshade on all the Klingon ships, except the one on the top left. I'm trying to decide whether I want to repaint this one grey entirely, as it IS supposed to be a D7, as opposed to a K'tinga class.
The Defiant and Excelsior have had a Nuln Oil wash over them.
The Tinyprise was standard GW Gray's > White, except instead of using proper white at the end, I used Pallid Wych Flesh, with some light white drybrushing.
The Enterprise-D, Equinox and Voyager started with drybrushed Shadow/Fenrisian Grey, then drybrushed Blue Horror and the old Space Wolf Grey (there's no other colour like it now). I did another colour to the Enterprise-D but I cannot figure out for the life of me which one it was... And I've been unable to replicate it with Voyager.

I have made a few attack wing ships from hero clix ships, using extra bases. Though I haven't made any since the 2nd or 3rd month since the games was released. It is just easier to buy the ship than it is to scour ebay for the model, scan and print ship cards, ship tags, and make dials. It helped when there was less than a dozen ships but now its just too time consuming for me.
Though if you are interested in doing such a thin I recommend using a high quality photo paper for all the printing.
About the only other thing I have done lately is a few months back I replace all of my K'Tinga models with a tactics model so the look different from my D7s. This worked out well when it was revealed that the same model was being used as the B'Moth in the blind packs. Here are my K'Tingas, 2 are the blind pack B'Moth and the other 5 are from Tactics.
As for painting, I don't plan on redoing anything. I have tone of GW stuff to paint if I get the mood. I am one of the few people that is perfectly happy with them the way they are. I love the fact that all I have to do is open the pack and its ready to play. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh I did repaint a micro machine Stargazer. I sub model in for a constitution class sometimes because it looks more Next Gen. I also picked up a micro machine Enterprise for TOS only because it looks cooler next to the Reliant and Klingon ships. However I don't use the model in OPs. The Wizkids model is better in OP environments because it never overhangs to bump other models.
This is a TOS only game I am working on typing up for a battle report. The micro machine model looks great, but in OPs when you have to pick things up every hour it gets clunky.

I gave my Attack Wing Klingon fleet a second wash of Coelia Greenshade.
I'm thinking that the second wash matched the colours a bit more.
However, it's weight that the Negh'var is still looking so metallic-ey, I guess that's cause the panels are so large and flat.
I still dunno whether to bother repainting the D7 into a more traditional gray.

I say tie them all in with a paint job of the same colors to readily identify them as a fleet, rather than a skittles mix of different colors.
Basically you can say they all 'represent' K'tinga class vessels as the D7 would be half the size and without all the decoration on the wing.
Or just by a nice grey MM model of the D7, it even comes with the bridge molded on correctly, unlike the K'tinga...

The mocro machine D7 is nice looking, but it could get expensive if you want more that one. I have noticed micro machine prices have gone up a bit since Attack Wing came out. Another thing to look out for is that the micro machines are made of rubber not plastic. They can often warp from heat or pressure.

Honestly it has never bothered me. I am a huge trek fan and Klingons are tied with Romulans as my favorite faction and I have never cared. The model still looks great on the table and you only notice it if you are looking right at the bridge. Once ships start moving and dice start rolling no one has ever said a word about it. I have 6 D7s and it looks awsome when they all hit the table, bridge and all.

I tend to side with mean green stompa on this one. I care about the ships more than any game.
However, I would love to have one of the sideways bridged ships just for giggles. I have some unpainted fleet captains K'tingas, and I will trade one or two of them for the same number of sideways bridged battle cruisers if anyone wants. Just send me a PM.

I'm not crazy about a Cardie faction, not because it isn't fluff appropriate, but because it would be problematic in terms of everything that's gone before without complex faq'ing. Also, Assimilation Target Prime is Galaxy class Mirror Universe / Borg, and is a beast (comes with Riker as captain - terran empire symbol being used for any alternate timelines)

Which is totally bizarre as it was a total shed in the series, our ent D one-shotted it when it attacked the shuttle. Also, it's Captain Riker was a wild eyed loony tunes.
Question for the class.
I'm still planning on building my fleets, being held back by wanting to work out a single scale to work with and collect for, I had been casting my eye about for a larger scale D'Deridex but am now contemplating a wholly larger scale using the furuta galaxy and nebula as the standard and perhaps bringing in the hallmark D'deridex and using 2x2 bases for everything galaxy upwards, making the smaller ships. Will this work or be unplayable? (I'll keep original models and bases for nonfriendly games). If I go with the galaxy as the 'set standard vessel' and use the furuta version, that's in the region of 1/5000-6000. Figure I can source a few other ships from shapeways at that scale. Or should I keep the galaxy and it's size bracket cousins at the game's model size and source even smaller ships for the smaller sizes, maintaining the current sized bases and thereby not tamper with gameplay?

I would use galaxy as your base mini, tbh. But warbird scaled to that would be glorious!

You mean keep the AW galaxy as the basis?
So source smaller scale ships and bigger D'deridex.

^ That. For example, the constitution enterprise is close in relative scale to galaxy. It's a thought.

Agreed, I guess although I'd like to actually up the scale on the 'galaxy range' ships (nebula, vor'cha, sov, valdore, etc) and have the midfield stuff at attack range size, I guess that would mean my fleet would be vast and unwieldy compared to anyone else's I might meet. So you're right, I'll just downsize the other ships via shapeways. Seek me out some really small scarabs, b'rel, defiant etc.

It's the best Star Trek since DS9 went off the air. If they only produced Prelude to Axanar, I would be satisfied, but they might give us a whole film, which is crazy. And it looks so beautiful!
The film is sure to create interest in certain scenarios. I wonder what the Ares, Ajax and D6s would look like as models. I want those ships... Does anyone know if FASA still makes them, or whether Wizkids might have the rights to them through CBS?

2nd that, truly better than any Trek since end of DS9. The 20 min Prelude was amazing
I don't know if we would ever see them in attack wing though. From what Andrew Parks said last year Wizkids only has rights to the movies and TV shows. Now that could have changed. Though if CBS gets off their bums and backs Axanar then that would open up a whole new realm of possibilities

I kinda felt I had to give in a bit to catch up, as so many people seem to be gathering them...
I bought the Flagship cards from ebay for £8. - That hurt a lot, however, they look like they're going to be pretty important for an upcoming campaign.
I also just bought a box Hideki Fighters and Federation Fighters for a total of £20. - At £10 each, that seems a fairish deal, but I dunno.
I've got to admit, I'm not massively pleased with myself for falling for this whole thing.

WizKids fans actually injured a woman at GenCon in the mad rush to get con exclusives, like the cloaked ships set. Considering how much money and trouble went into procuring a set of those ships, the 200 USD ebay price does not seem terrible. I waited for three and a half hours on Saturday morning to get into the dealer hall and actually managed to get into the line at the booth. After only 10-15 minutes in line, however, they announced all the cloaked ships were gone.
I also saw the oversized Borg cube, which looks pretty fearsome. If I played this game, I would have no trouble spending the money to get it.
Finally -- I got in a demo of D&D Attack Wing. The game seems very interesting and I think it could be a big hit. In light of it coming out, I am trying to lobby the Powers That Be to open an Attack Wing sub-forum to cover both games.

That would be great, feels a little cramped in these two threads for the various Q&A, modelling, battle reports etc. It may only be a few of us atm, but I think this is growing at a steady rate.
