There's countless miniature lines out there, it really depends on taste. What is it about the Warhammer minis that you like? If you describe specifically what you like about some minis then people can make suggestions of other stuff you might like.

I would check out some of Raging Heros to start.

'Better' how, exactly? Taste is subjective, what one person finds attractive, another does not. Suffice it to say there are plenty of alternative manufacturers around who produce miniatures that you may like.

I'm personally a big fan of On the Lamb's Endless Fantasy Tactics, specifically this model:

+1 to this.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Ugh, my brain just crashed. Model-wise, GW does make some good (and great) models. Avatars of War makes better models, but getting them sucks. Raging heroes are better, Mantic's undead line is superior to GWs...but then again, that also comes down to personal taste. If you want a better game though...look anywhere. Every game, rules wise, is superior to a GW game. Their rules are a mess, all over the place, and over complicated to the point of being a pain. I'll be honest, I'm glad to be out of the HHHobby and actually enjoying other games.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

You might like this thread.

It's full of alternative miniature games.

40k is my favorite, though.

I find brushfire is a much more fun game to play. But I settle for warhammer due to popularity.

That's just it.....

People choose warhammer because of its popularity. If you want warhammer and good sculpts then you generally don't buy half of the new releases () or use forgeworld miniatures.

If popularity is not your concern then there are plenty of amazing miniature companies out there - I really like what infinity has produced so far. In terms of GW's releases the last few years I'd say:

20% look great - I would gladly buy and field these
60% look decent - I will buy some of these kits, but not are must haves
20% look pretty horrible and are quite embarrassing

There are many companies out there where I love 50%+ of the sculpts they produce and the other 50% look decent with the odd flop.

I think he means the opposite. If you like warhammer, and want nice model, you use FW.

Exactly -> clarification:

If you want warhammer and good sculpts then you generally don't buy half of the new releases. Another option (if you want warhammer and good sculpts) is to use forgeworld

Not a great picture but this is probably my favourite GW sculpt.

The new Warzone stuff is really nice.

Indeed. This thread title is the tabletop equivalent of "Is there any color out there prettier than blue?".

Yes, OP, there are lots of games out there that people consider "better" than warhammer using a variety of factors to make the determination. Model casting quality, sculpting, rules, artwork, mechanics, per model or overall buy-in price, and community support are all things that GW can improve upon (less so on artwork IMO compared with the rest) so you'd have to tell us which ones are most important to you as a gamer to know what to suggest. Every game has it's fans and detractors so consider any responses you get in this thread to be mostly subjective.
