I got one of the new Revell AT-ACTs and I'm pretty happy with it. It's in a weird tiny scale (about 1/98 if my math is right), but is a pretty good size for potential gaming use (about 8 inches tall depending on leg pose).

1/100 is probably the best scale for a large sci-fi walker, as that puts it into the range of 15/18mm figures, which are certainly the second most popular figures for gaming. (after 32/28/25mm of course)

1/100 is "15mm" Flames of War scale.

I think that you would have trouble finding a Flames of War unit that would be a good choice for it to count as, though.
But yeah, as I was saying, it's at a pretty reasonably good size for "large vehicle that can fit onto a gaming table". If you ignore the question of whether 40K figures could fit inside the head, it might work as a weird-looking knight or something.

Yeah, Battlefront really needs to quit procrastinating, and stat the thing out so we can add them to our Normandy lists.

I've got a couple of them. The website that you linked to says the figures are about 6cm tall. I've just measured a Gundam one and it's approx. 4.5cm or 2 7/8" tall. They're considerably less massive than a Space Marine, or even a plastic Cadian, though some of the chunkier or non-humanoid figures might be suitable if you disregard the intended scale.
The big drawback, though, is that they're a blind purchase item.

I was at Toys R Us today, and saw this:
Minimates Aliens APC set - $25-30
I think it's very close to a Rhino / Chimera in size.

Despite chibi proportions, that definitely has potential. But what's up with the smiley wheels? The curve is right, but the eyes?

Apparently there's a Gunpla Expo going on right now in Japan. Lots of new kits shown off, like an HGUC Efreet, more Thunderbolt kits, mysterious new Mobile Suits that look vaguely like the designs from Double-Fake, potentially a 1/100 Hamma Hamma, some kind of new High Grade line starting with a Zeta Gundam, but the most important thing of all is this.
IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!!!!!

Video of said expo from HLJ: http://www.hobbylink.tv/gunpla-tv-special-gunpla-expo-winter-2016.
As for an orca proxy, there was a drop-ship type vehicle being previewed in the Infinity thread that had sort-of Tau-esque aesthetics, but I can't find the page it was on.

Interesting.
A quick search on the internet indicates that this isn't the first time that a Gundam has been released in 7-11 colors. The first appears to have been an RX-78, which was made available back in 2011. And an RX-93 Nu Gundam in the same livery appeared in 2014.
