As the Taurox is listed as two versions, one of which is for Astra Militarium, the apparent new name for IG, it is fair to assume, yes.

Looks like both, at 2x the price! If it's just Storm troopers, they've always been a part of the regular IG 'dex.
But the way GW seems to be doing things, we'll probably get 1 for each, forcing/tempting us to spend more money.

That tank is ugly as gak. I could see that being an arbites vehicle, but a stormtrooper one? And it's also the big new IG tank? I'm already worried about this IG release.

-ugly tank
-overpriced storm troopers
-more fething ogryn

and then we get 2 more kits?
-obligatory second flyer to invalidate vendetta
-artillery kit that isn't garbage? is that too much to ask for?

Don't know what to make of that.... Taurox Thing

BUT

If you can build 1 of 2 variants with the kit hopefully there'll be an option where the tracks can be replaced with wheels, the front and rear track arrangement looks pants, but stick a pair of tyres on the front and you'd have yourself an Imperial Guard halftrack

And that's 'Guard' halftrack, I will not be using that Astra MilitaWhatever term!

Oh my God, I forgot about that thing.

You're absolutely right about it needing to overcome huge obstacles to overcome the model though. I will be kind of irked if the Militarum Tempestus(I like this new name...so much more flashy than "Stormtroopers".) cannot use Chimeras.

Also something about the gear "design", from what I can see, on the Scions felt so familiar.

I also noticed that it doest say anything about the codex being a supplement. So are they adding another mini faction?

I'm also intrigued by the price point, can anyone else think of a vehicle that retails for (currently) £25-27? The Taurox is £29, so allowing for GW's special inflation rate, an equivalent size kit would cost somewhere in that ballpark now.

Nah, it's online only, which is a good guide it is a supplement. When details of "Codex: Crimson Slaughter" broke, it was called a codex, but has subsequently proven to be a supplement, no reason to think different with this.

The USD price is $48 and the closest to that price point is the Leman Russ kits at $49.50.

I find it worrying that a codex supplement is supposedly getting a release before the "proper" Imperial Guard codex. Black Legion didn't get released before Codex : Chaos Space Marines, so I find this....odd.

I think the Taurox looks quite cool, though I'll need a better look to determine if it desperately needs wheels or not. It also appears to have a second variant, I wonder what that has.

But really, updated Storm Troopers and and an entirely new vehicle I imagine will be interesting to use is great for my IG and my Inqusitional detachment.

That's a big call to make off of an incomplete photo of one page, more likely it just isn't in shot.

I think its going to be more along the lines of a an imperial knights type codex than a codex supplement personally, though it is odd that they are releasing it online first

There is still a week in March that is essentially "unaccounted" for, the release week of March 14th to March 29th.

The fact that this release has Warhammer Visions on its splash page suggests this will be the first April proper releases, and will probably go up for preorder on March 28th releasing on April 5th.

You don't need conjecture, it's spelled out at the top of the page. Pre-order on March 29th, release on April 5th.

The missing weeks I expect to be two waves of CSM or one CSM and one IG with codex.

That Taurox... thing is bad, "my first Sci-Fi vehicle" bad. For £8 more you could get the infinitely better-designed Tauros Venator from FW.

Stormtroopers look OK, but are awfully expensive. More expensive than a Grey Knight Strike Team, in fact! Pretty ludicrous.

Well, if the book and new units get me excited enough to embark on a Guard detachment for my Marines, my plan has always been to go "near future" as a theme for my regiment, and use appropriately scaled real world vehicle kits (Blackhawks as Valks/Vendettas for instance) and I always figured on using these..

As Chimeras, but I guess they've got a new slot to fit. I mention this now, because I suspect, on first impressions, lots of people are going to be looking for alternate kits if the rules are decent.

That's clearly the inspiration, but track wheels and a ludicrous centre of gravity (which might be an angular thing, but it looks considerably higher than wide) just break suspension of disbelief for me.

Not prepared to condemn it yet, too soon for that, but I don't think its looking good, literally or figuratively.
