How can you even see anything well enough to call them crap from those pictures?
Because I don't need to see fine detail when the overall shape of the model is so fundamentally flawed? Because I've been doing this long enough to know an eyesore when I see one? The Taurox model is garbage. It looks like a blinged out Tonka truck.

I was building a new "regiment" for my IG that were heavily influenced by the Helghast from killzone. Looks like it is time to add to the project.

Crap. Could those rumors have been totally off? This WD says the products will be available for pre-order on the 29th.
So.. We got this weekend of the 7th with the Helbrute pre-orders...
Then next weekend will be the 15th, presumably with Chosen preorders...
Then after that is the 22nd, which I suspect would be Astra Miltarum preorders...
And finally should be the 29th, which are the Militarum Tempestus pre-orders...
Right? That should be how it goes... right?
It's very simple: we have this and don't have Chosen because nobody wants this and everybody wants Chosen.

Speak for yourself. I couldn't give a rat's ass about Chosen, and I've been anticipating new Guard stuff for a long while now.

I have not played or collected anything 40k in over 4 years. After playing off and on since first edition.I really like the models about frigin time to see some plastic Stormies. But What this sounds like to me is a Arbites Style Force or A Inquistion Style troopers.I wonder if in the Codex if they get any of the old Forgeworld vehilces.Because that Truk would fit in real well with Inquistion or Arbites.Ogres with Riot Shields and Clubs sounds alittle like Arbites to me.So i hope this is a Splash release overall and not a General release for Guard.Because i think that truk would kinda stink in overall Meatgrind/Tank war that 40k has turned into.GIve me something more sturdy.
but i will stick with a Splash release for a Supplement Codex and probably some BL Novels to go with,But looking at the Art.They appear to be some type of Inq/Arbites Stlye and the Ogeryns would fit in with this style of playing.Urban Assault troops.MAybe a New Guard Regiment? This would not be the first time GW has done this,TAnith,Schaffers,TAnith,Mordian Etc. for examples.but What get me are the Rites inscripted on the one troopers forehead! All we needed was for them to HAve Uriah with them.I would be kool if we got some new Arbite stuff to go with them Cyber MAstiffs and Ogres CC = OWWW or something for Penal or Mitia models from GW..I played Inq. Stormies for years.

I love the Taurox. Like all the best 40K vehicles, it screams WW2-era to me. It seems heavily inspired by the American half-tracks of that era. M31A etc.
I'm really excited by what i'm seeing here... in part because my old school beret stormtroopers will finally get some reinforcements!

Yep, it seems like they were definitely going to real vehicles for inspiration on that vehicle. I like it, although it will be interesting to see what role it fills.
Also if that is a true stormtrooper army book.....I might be broke building an allied detachment. That would be PERFECT allies for my deathwatch.
Bitch about allies all you want but it is allowing me to finally build and play the fluffy army I have always wanted.

Except that it looks nothing like a half-track.
Which would be acceptable if it did.

Again, a real world vehicle that both looks better, AND looks more like it fits in with the rest of the IG line. Automatically Appended Next Post: I don't understand why people are expecting this to be more heavily armored than the Chimera, though.
MRAPs may be pretty tough, but they aren't as robust as a Bradley, for example.

Sure, but it's not a good MRAP with 40k bling.
If I was designing the Taurox as an Ogryn delivery system, I'd start off by replacing the tracks with something lower to the ground, and then had the entire side panel of the troop compartment fold down like the tailgates on a ute. Ogryns walk up the ramp, sit down, and the ramps lift up to shield them. When they get where they're going the Taurox rams its way into the enemy ranks, drops the ramps to crush a few more, and then the Ogryn charge off the assault ramps to either side of the vehicle.

Are they Inqusition goons? Are they space cops? or are they another organization intended to counterbalance the Inquisition and the Church? (The latter has a band of warrior girls in power armor as its own military power)

it makes them looks like a commando or the 1st / 2nd edition Stormtroops.
Renaissance style armor looks good, but it doesn't fit with 21st century beret, it fits with either tricorne, bicorne, or skull helmets (hopefully there will be two sets of head to swaps).
so they got the separate organizations and not belong to IG. but are these the return of Templars Fraternits thing.. a band of all-male warrior priests owned by The Church (Before Sebastian Thor disbanded them shortly after the cirisis)

Glad I'm not playing 40k any more. Not sure what GW was thinking with that vehicle design. Track guards?! What purpose do track guards serve here? What's with the iconography? Why is the turret right above the driver area AND right next to the door? It's like a really bad episode of Pimp My Ride.
And the new Stormtrooper/Scion models.... Far cry from the Kasrkin sculpts. Too much torso and shoulder armor, nothing on their legs....
Ugh. Maybe the actual IG stuff might not be such an eye sore.

I had a similar train of thought but figured why would Ogryn's need ramps to shield them. Just turn the back end of the Taurox into a flatbed, lower the vehicle, throw on some tires instead of tracks and you'd have an Ogryn El Camino delivery system.
The Scions don't look that bad but as far as the current Taurox goes I'll be keeping to my Chimera's and save myself some cash.
