Again, we haven't seen anythig that suggests that the Taurox is in any way associated with Ogryns, beyond people making the somewhat tenuous bovine link between the word 'taurox' and 'bullgryn' (easily one of the most ridiculous names GW has come up with to date).

Sorry if I missed something, but is bullgryn a new name for the ogryn, or is it another type of ogryn? Like a more CC orientated version (bull = big angry aggressive cow)?

Also, I don't see how the taurox can serve as a transport for ogryns. It seems to be too cramped for a vehicle that's meant to transport large claustrophobic abhumans. Besides, it has a tiny door.

Oklahoma City, Ok.

I'd like to see this whole Storm Troopers are/are not IG argument stop.
We've all seen that GW loves to change and twist things. I'd like to wait and see what the books, models, etc... tell us before we say what is or isn't.
Am I right, all those that kept saying Knights aren't Titans.....?

It's also notable that even IN-UNIVERSE storm troopers are seen by guardsmen as "glory boys" and over-decorated, etc. Far as I know, anyways. So it's actually fluffy for Storm troopers to look overly blinged out.

Columbus, Oh

Have we seen pics of the "ogryns with riot shields" or are they just discussed at this time?

I would LOVE to see what they have done... I like Ogryns just fine outside their ruleset..

Astra Millitarum is the new name for IG, because GW wants to consolidate their IP by given all of the imperial factions High Gothic names.

Which is fine I guess. Going to be very confusing from a consistency standpoint. Oh, and the fact that Imperial Guard just sounds cooler. There's a reason why it's been used so often throughout history and fiction

The tempus whatsitz is a supplement which apparently is Stormtrooper orientated.

Man, these models made me angry enough to stop lurking and write this rant about it. I'll still give the designers the benefit of the doubt and lean towards their managers having no artistic sense, but I am now fully convinced that the model design team as a whole doesn't know good design.

Here's why: the way I see it, a great draw of 40K is (was) the artistic consistency of forces, the continuity of fluff and the models' aesthetic for a given faction. And for the various Imperial factions, that aesthetic is, let's say, High Medieval. Hence when things like the over-decorated Dark Angels flyers came out, I thought they were silly, but not out of place. I'd never get anything like that, since I think a sci-fi/high medieval aesthetic is dumb, but whatever, that's why I don't play marines.

But the reason I played guard is that they were the one Imperial faction that stood out. Guard, in fluff, has always been "deciding the questions of the day by Blood and Iron", and their aesthetic shows that: utilitarian vehicles, silly interwar tanks, standardised infantry.

And what does IG get for an update? Landsknechts with guns and an overdecorated truck. Yes, I get that they're trying to make a product so detailed that it can be sold as luxury good, but heraldry and fleur-de-lis on everything is not the way to go.

Odd that the marine book wasn't Codex: Adeptus Astartes. Especially after the backlash from going after Spots the Space Marine.

Yeah, I thought the same thing.

In fact, I thought the IG name change was because of that, but as GW didn't trade mark Imperial Guard (unlike Space Marine), that couldn't be the case.

Maybe they'll change the SM book's name next edition, and drop Space Marine from the trade mark (as they always should have done, as they did not create it)

Something that just hit me like a well hidden rake.

Bullgryn - Bull is a euphamism for "cop" is some areas and Bullgryns are the Riot Arbite-like version of Ogryns.

Taurox - 'Taur' is the baseword for many cow based thins (from Taurus onwards)

Bullgryns in a Taurox makes perfect sense in that sense of the word as it is a damned cattle cart.

I can't believe it took me so long to figure that out on my own...

Being a dedicated ogryn mover would explain the height, even if it doesn't explain the teeny side door. But maybe that is just for the humies that ride with them?

Except that unless the transport is larger than it looks in the leak, it wouldn't be able to carry that many Ogryns. I know that the vehicles aren't necessarily to scale, but you'd have to pull off some pretty crazy clown car shenanigans for the transport to carry around more than 1-2 ogryns. Which is hardly the "full size" in the rumor.

There was a rumour from an 'unnamed source' that had apparently seen a box of a new Ogryn kit sent to a store early by mistake. That was the source of the dual kit plastic Ogryn and the 'Bullgryns' iirc.

And then we'll get a picture of the back of the mother bus and there'll be giant iron doors that you could fit a sentential through. Come to thing about it would be cool if that "thing could carry a scout sentential or two

Considering how many marines are supposed to fit in a Rhino, I can mentally accept the concept of 5 ogryns fitting in a tall chimera.

Your marines must be based on Rattling stock if you can fit ten of them on a Rhino...

This was the best image I could find for "10 marines in a Rhino" google search, and yeah, possible to stack them in the shell and over if you took everything else out at the same time.

In the end of the day, I am ok with a little bit of abstraction in my war-dollies, and I personally dont see the issue of a 5 ogryn squad in something I believe to be sized as a Tall Chimera.
If that doesn't work for you, well that is cool too. You will just have to rationalise that some Tardis level forgotten tech or something or just not play with/against people with the models in question.

Odd, I could have sworn I've seen 10 marines balanced on a rhino. It was a long time ago, so I may be mistaken.

Out of curiosity, I wonder how the ogryns are going to deal with their claustrophobia this time? Perchance it is a military tactic; cram a bunch of ogryns in a tight space, move them close to the enemy and open the hatch while diving for cover before a quintet of angry giants barge out and murder everything in sight?

Granted - however the Tauros is still tiny in comparison (which is the main point) & I wouldn't accept it as a 'counts as' in any game I'm going to play.

Also someone else stated that Ogryn won't fit through the side door.
We don't know if it has:
1. a big door round the back, like the chimera or
2. a big SUV type sliding door on the other side.
In any case we will find out in a couple of weeks.

10 marines do fit in a Rhino (albeit very tightly) if they're not on bases. You can hold 9 in the main part, and the sergeant rides up front with the driver. That said, 40k's scale is all over the place, so I can definitely accept Ogryn fitting in the Imperial Minivan.

And, if it's 5, then that means they probably won't let them in chimeras anymore.
