Why in gorks name are they still making the cards for the armies limited editions, may as well make the codex limited edition and be done with it

Well the Ork codex isn't listed for sale on GW's website anymore. I hope they don't just release a hardcover version. At least I hope we don't have to wait too long for a paperback copy.

No codex then so just mek boy andpainboy after the guns then so be mega nobs after that then a codex its been a long long while now. As much as I love orks this has been one long boreing dull ass release.

Who the hell would buy anything related to an army if they don't know how it fits in it. I think we are due 2 more boxes one being mega nobz and not sure about the other .

Most fun army in 40k and the dullest release haven't even spent a penny on it so far and won't until I see the codex. Here's a thought what if we don't get a codex and are just using WD to boost the old one lol that would be a kick in the teeth :p

Ouch. Please, punctuate. Plus, if you read a thread rather than blindly replying, you would know when the Codex is out.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

If white dwarf was a good value, with all the old stuff that made it white dwarf, it would be good. As it is, its not. You are essentially buying the mag for the rules, and don't care about the rest. No battlereports, no hobby tips, no insight from devs and players, no golden demon or strategy corners about armies. Just advertisments for stuff you might not even care about.

I don't think you've ever open one of these new ones. Just looking at Number 3...

"No battle reports" - Almost all of them have battle reports. There was one in 3.

"No hobby tips" - There is usually always a how-to painting section of the book, Paint Splatter (in number 3), also Sprues and Glue section also about the hobby.

"No insights from Devs" - There is usually (always) and article with the new rules from the one who wrote it. Vetock has an articile in number 3.

"No insights from players" - I believe the WD staff are players.

"No golden Demon" - Ragnar Blackmane is in number 3. There is usually a highlighted model.

"No strategy" - After reading in the 7th ed books that everyone was taking melee captains and no one taking psykers and that was what led to the development of the new psychic phase - I don't think you'd want strategy in there.

So, almost every single thing you said is factually incorrect.

Well I have issue 20, and there is not a battle report to be seen, or on the one before it, just advertisements for ork stuff not released yet, and the "paint tips" can be summed up in a paragraph of which paints he bought to make his model look Purdy. No hobby tips, conversions, insight from players (white dwarf staff are paid to tell you specific things, they cant come out and say such and such is rarely a good unit, use this instead) No golden demon, just the sculpting artist for the new archon and horse.

so no actually, im pretty much on the nose. See I can back up my opinions too!

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

I shall breath a great sigh of relief.

Anybody think this is about selling white dwarf, and not models.

I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

I'm just glad to see codex release dates - "exclusive datasheet" could mean anything.

I'm viewing looted wagon being included in White Dwarf as GW trying to avoid fan rage that they weren't included in the new Codex.

GW: "See, you can still play looted wagons. We gave you official stats and everything, and they are even in print."

With the Codex for pre-order in just 5 days, when should we expect to get some leaks about its contents?

If GW could find something and stick with it...

Hey, look! A new layout for the codexes! Whooo!

I'm not saying a datasheet layout will be bad (or good). It just feels like no matter what they do (bad or good), they will change it around randomly. There never seems to be a progression of improvement at GW (except in their creative fields, like novels, artwork, and models), but just a continual lurching change. Ugh.

At least we know why the "Codex Collection" doesn't include Orks. They are a different codex format!

Kind of annoyed that I bought the objective cards now (even though they are reasonably cheap, for GW), since I basically only play orks, and it seems like they will have their own. If GW keeps this up, even more people are going to suspect the old bait and switch and decline to buy.

Soon, I hope. I was planning on doing an all Grot detachment list, but I wanted to see what they did to Grot mobs before I started buying a bunch of models. I might use 2 mobs in my normal list, since they @ least provide a cover save to the Boyz behind them, but that depends on their points in the new book (if they go up, no, if they go down or stay the same, I'll do it).

I think the ork painboy is the first model in this release I really don't like. It just seems so off. His face just seems to be off.

People are saying that the ork codex is the first one with unit entries on datasheets, but didn't Imperial Knights and Militarum Tempestus already do that?

No the others are something new on datasheets.
Looted wagons are something old on datasheets.

That Painboy looks.... REALLY not orky.

The looted wagon doesn't sound terrible, though I'm amused that under Unit Composition it says "1 Gorkanaut". Somebody failed at proofing that page...

The Mekboy is pretty good. I like the Painboy with the exception of the creepy smile, it reminds me of an Dark Eldar with and Ork mask on impersonating an Orky smile (i.e. badly). I'm assuming that the head will be easy enough to exchange out.

The prices on these two makes me question the pricing on the Mek with the SAG even more so however.
