In the book she comes to recognize that being "dumb" will keep her alive. She still acting "dumb" but it kind of jives on her character in the book to on screen on staying alive

It was every bit as gruesome as I pictured it after reading it in the book.
I got the impression that this episode, with Sansa's change of garb, to her now being ready to play the game. No longer a bystander, but an active participant. Her darker wardrobe signifying it at the end.
Spoiler:
So we should have a few notable deaths, a resurrection, and a battle or two at the Wall for the last two episodes. Possibly two resurrections if they go the Qyborn zombie thing route with The Mountain. Gonna be some great TV. But then another wait for the next season...hopefully Black Sails season 2 comes out soon!

I don't really expect the mountain to die until the next season. I figured he would do some screaming for the rest of this one.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Talking about ways to die had some nice foreshadowing tonight though...

That episode almost made me throw up. First with the skinning, then with the viper scene. Ewww. I hope the mountain dies quickly.....
If you read the books I cannot wait for the damn part where tyrion gets his revenge!
With the vipers death, Guess what, Tywin is screwed with the alliance with dorne, and the seven kingdoms now know of what tywin ordered and no one will trust the lannisters.

This scene better be as bad as you people are making out. Last time I saw this kind of reaction to a death was the red wedding. It was worse in the books. The show was pretty tame aside from shock value of character deaths.

I don't know which show you were watching (or alternately, which books you were reading), but the Red Wedding was waaay nastier in the show. At least everyone I know though so. That s--t was heinous.
And yes, barring the time I stupidly watched that video those european teenagers posted up from their phones of them beating a dude to death with a hammer, this was the most horrific death I've ever seen on television. I knew it was coming, and I was still stunned.
That being said, if you're pretty jaded when it comes to television violence, then it might not bother you, especially if the internet hype has built up the brutality in your mind to a point that nothing could equal it. In other words, try to keep your expectations low so you can still enjoy it.

I've seen worse, just not on a TV show, but that doesn't change how tame it was The Red Wedding really wasn't that bad, aside from the pregnant woman. Just a lot of people getting shot by crossbows and a couple of throats cut with a pretty unconvincing blood spray.
I suppose it's different with books because you make the scene as bad as you imagine. And the end of the Mountain and the Viper when I read it was terrible, so it better be as bad as everyone is saying.

That was one of the most brutal thing I've ever seen, the screams were awful to listen to. The rest of the episode was a really nice episode too everyone was pretty happy.
Gotta agree with Jimsolo, the red wedding was definitely better in the TV show.

Arya just losing it was amazing. She just cracks and can't stop laughing at the whole horrid situation.

Watched every episode of Spartacus, and this was almost equal to that. Of course in Spartacus they cut a man's face off and showed his brain falling out... and had a guy use a spear like a crowbar to wrench a guy's jaw off... so maybe not equal...

There is literally nothing I can say to this, other than to know my fellow book readers are also nodding sagely.

This felt worse because at least in Spartacus everything happened quite fast so it wasn't as painful to watch, watching this you could just imagine how Oberyn felt.

Oberyn couldn't probably feel anything... I mean his brain was imploded...
0.o
But anyway, the new Game of Thrones have brought it true to the books after the major detour from the books.

Not everything - the torture and rape scenes were very nasty - compare the taking of a city by the Gladiators and slaves to the benign (by contrast) taking of the city by Dany....
plus most of the really gory fighting stuff was done in ultra cool Slow mo

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001
That was epic. Can't wait for the end of the season and at the same time I don't want it to happen. It will be another year of waiting.
Still, I kinda feel bad for the people who only watch the show since they took that blow harder than I did in the books. I didn't really care for oberyn in the books, but in the show he was godly. Good thing I knew what was going to happen but still it was shocking and my heart was racing. Now I have to watch photos of kittens all day to feel a little bit better.
Also, the skinning of the dude by Ramsay (now) Bolton! Holy crap! I knew it was going to happen but daaaaamn

Thats what makes the mountain a terrible terrible human being. Shaddup and just die already mountain, there is a reason why we call Oberyn the Red Viper.
Hey you tywin!
Spoiler:
Get that smug look off your face.... You're next. I hope you enjoy crossbows and rotting in a grave... And Cersi, I hope you die a terrible death at the hands of Arya stark.
Anyway anyone else wish they brought in the Sword of the Morning or Dark Star and all that? And also Oakheart.
I am kind of glad Jorah got kicked off the booty land of Dany's. She is gone full crazy. just like her father....
Yeah that was not that big of a deal. She really has that divine right thing stuck in her bloody head. I am hoping that Danerys Stormborn dies at sea. Oh god the irony would be fantastic.
Also anyone know what happened to Gendry?
Now we wait for the best battle and doubtedly the coolest one of all time. A hundred men versus and a hundred thousand wildings.... mammoths, Giants, dire wolves. My GOD THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME. It is basically three hundred, except the main characters all wear black and they are kind of screwed :/

Pure brutality, but dang was that fight scene nicely done. I'd read the books a few times each, but that still made me flinch. On the other hand, that's exactly how I imagine a Dark Eldar/Space Marine duel plays out.
Seriously, I wish we could have had a week to talk about how awesome that fight scene was, but now it is completely overshadowed by the end result.
Book spoilers:
Spoiler:
Damn, I want to watch the Mountain SCREAM now. We know that there's some lovely poison/infection coming and that he will be in a whole world of pain. At least Oberyn didn't die in vain! Also, I loved that line by Littlefinger "men die on their chamber pots". We all know where that's going in an episode or two...
