That's a bit harsh. Sam really proves his bravery in this episode. Sam the slayer indeed! He evens a headshot on one of the stern.n cannibals as he charges at Sam.

So apparently, some do.

I just thought discussing the sexual attractiveness of people's bodies, especially in public, was kind of rude, actually. But then again, I guess it can depend on the context. If someone is doing a whole lot of nude shot, maybe we can safely assume he or she would not feel uncomfortable about that.

Well rose Leslie did a full body nude scene with kit Harrington so I'm guessing she thinks of it as an occupational hazard.

My comment to her ginger m. Was a reference to how often the wild.ling.s talk about it, seems like every episode this season with throttle in.

In my experience girls tend to talk about it as much or more than men..............

Sam really put a bolt through a Then forehead. He really does. Whoever thought out that scene actually had the fore sight to make look "calm" while doing it

Yes, he just about manages to notch a bolt and kill someone trying to kill him - whilst all around him his comrades have been doing that for quite some time - keeping him alive.

He proves his bravery by staying calm, not fleeing the battle and hiding like Sly.n.t. encouraging and calming down p.y.p.a.r (who was shaking with terror before Sam gave him a pep talk), loading crossbones for p.y.p. he tries to stay by Jon.s side when Jon joins the fight (but orders s as m to set ghost loose and stay out of the fight). Then he kills a berserk Th.e.n.n. in self defence.

Sam's already proven his bravery several times over. He killed a whit walker for God's sake a mythical ice demon.


Sam is not a warrior. He had no skill at battle, his skills are in learning and using his wits. And yet he never flees battle. If he fights on the frontline in the thickest fighting he will die. Fighting is not his primary job, though he does contribute to the fight.


He's just as brave as the presumably poor trained cooks who grab kitchen utensils to fight elite fearless wild.l.I.n.g.s.

Sam is no more a coward than Mae.s.t.e.r a.e.m.o.n or ma.e.s.t.e.r l.u.w.I.n.


Spoiler Sam will become a Mae.st.e.r himself next season.

Wow that was a pretty awesome episode!

Interesting to have the entire episode focusing on one plot line, I suppose it was pretty key to the main story. Was hoping to see how Tyrion could worm his way out of being executed (just a guess, not a spoiler!) although I guess that is being saved for the season finale.

Cool bits of the show
- Giants, giant mammoths! (then being set on fire)
- an 'Oh how sweet' moment, Ygritte just couldn't shoot John Snowww (said in the Yorkshire accent). You knew they could never have ended up together, but it was a nice interlude in what was essentially an hour of people being stabbed and set on fire.
- John Snow is a badass, death of the horrible bald cannibal guy /w hammer.
- sad about the death of the guys 'holding the gate' when the giant came through
- Sam proved his mettle!

John Snow became an old bitter man this episode.

Ha. That's just the beginning.

I got the impression that Sam was amazingly calm for everything going on around him. The character was sent to the wall by Dad because he was martially useless. In this episode his calm is infectious. He thinks clearly, he plans, he's willing to drive in with Jon until Jon tells him he's not worth as much as Jon's dog in this fight. He then runs through a melee and is almost hit by an arrow while he's doing his job and he just looks around and gets back to it. Honestly I felt like Sam grew a pair which is a nice shift from the books.

I thought this episode was extremely well done. And this was the only time I didn't want to punch Thorne in the face. At least he's got the ability to go with the swagger.

Pissed that Grenn took the blacksmith's place. I knew it was going to happen when the order came but I'm not happy with that or with Pip..
