This isn't a great pats team?!? All 3 of their units are in the top 10. They've killed every good team they've played except for GB. The defense hasn't given up a second half TD in 6-7 games, they are pretty healthy, and mentally tough. There is probably 2 teams in the nfl that can hang with them atm. And they aren't in the AFC.

Fair enough! Yah it's all good man, it's just about playoff time we gotta step up the trash talk game. And too be fair after the KC game I did take your comments seriously and reacted as such so I should have been more careful this time.
I'm hoping for no repeat of 2009 where someone gets hurt in a final meaningless game. Bellichik is a guy who doesn't really rest a lot of guys. Gotta get through a game with that buffalo D alive ;p

Ya know, I've never understood why guys like Bellichick don't rest players, if that week 17 game is meaningless. It's not college football where "style" matters, lol. I also get that he can't really give them a full game off, as it's been somewhat proven to be detrimental (the whole, too much time off is a bad thing), but surely, if you go into it like an early preseason game, where most of the top starters are getting a quarter to a half of play then resting, it should have most of the positive effects, without the negative, right?
Strangely, this is the first year in a long, long time that I can remember where the playoff picture looks so crazy going into week 17:

This is what I'm hoping for. Play 1 quarter then let second stringers take it over for the rest of the game. Don't even suit up Edelman, Gronk, or Revis.
Although I guess there is merit to trying to win every game examples being 2007/2011 giants and the myriad of other wild card teams that have won or been to the Super Bowl in recent times. It just seems like the risk of injury is too great. Especially when this team has the experience to handle the extended bye and come back strong in the playoffs.

Yahyahyah I've never claimed to be anything but a homer. Although I try to stay rational with my opinions.
But facts are
Patriots rank #1 in PPG(the only stat that really matter besides wins) on offense.
Rank #8 in defensive PPG
And admittedly this one is harder to prove but their special teams has been really really good this year. Not just in coverage but they've blocked a bunch of kicks and scored multiple touchdowns.
And according to football outsiders they are the number 6 ranked special teams unit using weighted DVOA. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teameff

It's going to be the worst Christmas ever if the Football gods line everything up just so and the Ravens get into the playoffs... It's slim, but this is Cleveland luck we're talking about.

Don't worry alf, it's pretty unlikely the ratbirds get in. SD knows they can't lose or they're out of the playoffs so they should come out flying against the Chiefs. You should be fine!

It's my loving nickname for the scummy Ravens. To get into the playoffs they have to beat Cleveland and hope for a SD tie/loss. I believe Philly Rivers gonna get it done though and get in.

So the patriots have gronk, Edelman, their starting right tackle, their near pro bowl linebacker, and more inactive. Looks like it'll be a JV game after a series or two.

Aaron Rodgers out possibly rest of the game? This just got interesting.
