Will you be able to throw out the playtest rules to us KS backers?

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

The KS2 sounds promising. Are you saying that individual orders prior to that cannot be filled though?
I am looking for really specific models for roleplaying games like the wolves (just the wolves by themselves), Ancient Ones, and the Genies (looooove your genie models).

I'm open to more models but I have a LOT already so going in big on a kickstarter would mean the models would have to be non-traditional. I have a lot of all of the basics like Ogres, Orcs, lizardmen, humans, elves, etc etc (basically reaper bones + a bunch of GW and dungeons and dragons minis). Do you know when you plan on doing the Kickstarter?

I definitely want to know about the lions. I had given up on that project but if your lions work, I can get back to work on that army

By the time KS-2 is launched, the game will have been already tested and made available. We have formed a wonderful playtest Team with playgroups from all over the world (Canada, Germany, New Zealand, UK and Sweden have been especially supportive, but we also have volunteers for the US, Australia, Denmark, France, Thailand and many more) and we are already receiving feedback on magic banners costs, troops costs and statistics etc.
One of the key game mechanics is still being tampered with, it makes the game really quick but must be tweaked a bit, we are working with our playtesters atm on that.
And we are still expecting feedback from around half the other playtesters, the first deadline is end of July, so plenty to work on still. The first draft was IIRC 106 pages, and we have already sent out an additional 1st fix/FAQ of another 10 or so.
The rules will be made available for everyone and for free. No fragments, test samples etc. ALL free and supported/updated by us for many years to come. Now, if someone is a backer or should we be able to print that in hardback, a whole lot more of artwork and fluff will be made available to those who actually show us their direct support. That does not mean you will have to pay for them at some point down the line. If you want the rules, download and read. It's that simple. :-)

Negative. We still ship on a daily basis, but if someone wants to go big but can wait for another year, we council him to hold on to what we consider way more profitable for both parties.

We learned a lot on our first Kickstarter, there is no substitute for experience. Shieldmaiden plastics will pitch the KS-2, as a lot more plastics will be pumped up this time instead of supplying literally everything.
Non-traditional? Lol. KS-2 will feature a starter set of two armies. What you will see in for the Shieldmaidens is anything but traditional. On the contrary the right word is "unique". You can quote me on that in a few months time ;-)
KS-2 is due end of the year. We said we will be doing one KS at a time, no other project will be launched if the one prior one has not been 100% fulfilled. Ad we intend to stick to that Policy.

I have asked a friend at an FLGS to send me one. I'll take a couple of shots and let you know as soon as I have it in my hands, you'll judge for yourself.
Cheers!

Production is going steady -despite recent events- and we still believe we will deliver earlier than promised.
The game is also being playtested and tweaked, some very encouraging & interesting feedback, we are hoping in an amazing KS-2!

In the meanwhile I'll just leave these pictures here, probably the most detailed fantasy mammoth worldwide. At our KS-1, people bought it for 60$! (howdah version was 75$)  o_o
It will be again available in a discounted price via our KS-2 for those who can wait however

These are production shots showing pins for easy assembly, carefully inspected for quality purposes. When this beauty along with others from the kickstarter goes available via retail (because it must first be delivered to our KS backers as promised), reasons for it going unchallenged will become more obvious

Besides the Wyvern, Mammoth, twin headed dragon etc, another amazing set that came out of our KS-1 (and that too probably unmatched worldwide in concept, detail and dynamism) are the Siberias Lion riders!

Hopefully our KS-2 due in the end of this year will feature even more of these wonderful miniatures, plan's the same, i.e. starting with the plastic Shieldmaiden kit!

Before going there and revealing the huge amount of work put there, we have plenty of teasers and examples of our work from our KS-1 still to show however :-D

Looks great.

And you have added lots of stuff since I last visited your website.

A suggestion: Have you considered putting up detailed pictures of more of the unpainted parts/sprue?

While you have very good visual information compared to most manufacturers, there are many items that has only a painted, assembled version to view.

Thanks! :-)

Suggestions are highly appreciated, they can only help after all. Yes, we have considered putting unpainted/unassembled pics, but we have decided to limit that to the bitz section only.
Everything else has to be very nicely painted in order to exalt the detail of our miniature line and lure more people into a wonderful hobby that we love and believe has a lot to offer to both people that know about it or have never touched a miniature or a brush in their lives. The 360's are also part of this and we go into great length to be able to make them available, also because we want the webstore visitors to see exactly what they are getting (no hidden angles).
Yes, the range is growing (means we must be doing something right, lol) and we have projects Monuments of Glory II, these Kickstarter-1 releases, the additional Talliareum Ogre army releases, project Ikia and whatever comes out of our KS-2 naturally. On top of that the "War is Coming" rulebook. All due within the next 6 months ;-)

For the unpainted/unassembled reviews, we have opted to support and work with the bloggers/websites that are generously and passionately promoting the hobby.
We find they do a great job and much more detailed than any unpainted/unassembled picture on our website could ever do.
Miniatures from our KS-1 are already in England and Belgium, and we have mailed some to Spain and the USA too. The reviews will be coming out soon.

Next miniatures scheduled to be revealed are the Great War Mammooth with howdhah version and the Valley Orc Battle Wyvern (not necessarily in that order).

Last, but not least, a spoiler...

When you start your next KS will you be offering any of the miniatures from the first KS ?

I only ask as I was skint when it happened but hope to grab some bits from this one, however if they will be offered at a better price with the next KS I might wait and invest in one.

Plus I am waiting to see the mammoth in all it's glory, will you be showing both versions as I am thinking of using these with my Chaos Dwarves and wondering what the options are.

Yes, but we haven't decided which yet. We will be certainly placing some in order to enhance the campaign, going HIPS directly is going to need all the support we can get.
A lot of our funds for the KS-2 has already been invested in the 3ups to show the backers what it is really going to be like once in their hands. Best money-can-buy sculptors and materials in our opinion, please expect a very promising range and deal. Teasers on the plastics are going to be posted as we come closer to the expected launch date, first we have to wrap up KS-1.

By "both versions" if you mean with or without howdah, yes. The miniature will also include additional parts not available/revealed yet to customize it for those who might even want to field a twin-combo of Mammoths. These were freebies that were never unlocked in our KS-1 due to our bad lay-out. Now they will probably be add-ons.
The Mammooth will also contain an option for a 150mmx100mm scenic resin base (already sculpted and in production) available in our webstore. It will be shown in the coming days.

Sweet. I'm looking forward to KS-2 as I'm hopefuly I'll be able to get an awesome Northern Alliance army bundle of shield maidens, barbarian infantry and mammoths.

Our KS-1 funded some great beasts, tremendously detailed and dynamic centerpieces of War is Coming, hopefully our KS-2 will help fund the much wanted hard plastic troops for our game.
In the meanwhile, here's one of these beautiful beasts, the Great War Mammooth of the Northern Alliance!

EXACTLY what I need for my Ogres!

Can we get a pic with a human model for scale?

Will this be available in a future KS?

Hesitant to order from the website if there's a chance I can save a few bucks...

I always wanted to do a giant riding a mammoth as some sort of giant Bretonian knight-wannabe mercenary. But FW stopped selling the Chaos Mammoth. I was tempted by it during the last KS. Hmh. And there'll be Viking ladies. Hmh.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Thank you @Azazelx :-)

Finally made it in time to take the pictures promised for the size comparison issue, we were a bit too busy packing up stuff ready to mail next week so I think you'll agree with me that this inevitably got pushed back in the priority line.

The bases used in the photos both come from Citadel's thunderwolf cavalry, the Shieldwolf mini comes supplied with a 75mmx50mm base instead. I didn't have time to glue the lion's tail, but here are the models nonetheless :-)

And if you think the Siberias lions are big... this is what you can expect for our Ice Warbears (minus an 8% in size so it will fit on the 75mmx50mm bases for War is Coming) :-D

KS-1 fulfilment will 99% be completed by end of next month, so we can start posting teasers and info for the launch date for our KS-2. It's been months we have been working on these and we really can't wait to show them off!

Thank you.

A review of our Wyvern, this is a production model and exactly what our KS-1 backers will be receiving next month.
This miniature was completely un-funded during the backslide but it meant so much to us that we decided to fully cover the expenses nonetheless.
We are proud of our decision :-)

Will all the kickstarter1 items be available in KS2? I really like the wyvern, but around $100 is too much right now for one model.

@Theophony
"All" the Kickstarter Items, negative, we do not want to use the platform as a pre-order system nor penalize our supporters who purchase directly from us or our retailers. We need it to speed up production, quality costs and we genuinely need your help. War is Coming is an army and not another skirmish game, requisites go in another dimension.

As far as the Wyvern model is concerned, affirmative, it also features in our KS-2 and thus available at smaller cost.
KS-2 has been structured completely differently from KS-1, this time we will have "value for money" right from the start.
More info will strike next month :-)

Has shipping started? I saw mention of doing so mid-late October, and I'm still just waiting on one mini that must have been done for quite some time now. Looking forward to it

@RiTides
You're correct , shipping of Wave-1 (which is the largest wave and includes everything besides dragons and riders) commences end of this week, we will be posting an update in our KS page to let people know more precise facts on it. We honestly appreciate all support and your pledge (which is obviously included in this wave) shall be mailed in the coming days.
Wave-2 is due mid/end November and completes this project. It has been a great experience and we are looking forward to a next, much bigger campaign :-D

@Jerram
We would love that too, we wouldn't boast the "best" Wyvern worldwide and not go into trouble painting it, it is currently in Italy, we expect to have it back in our hands and upload a 360 on our Website by December. Hope you like it as much as we do :-)

Next update is due during the upcoming weekend (24-25 Oct.), we have scheduled to commence shipping by Thursday 22nd, but we might get lucky and commence on Tuesday 20th.
This update will also have some info on KS-2 and 1-2 teasers, but more detailed info is to be expected in the November update which should confirm completion of Wave-2...
