If we can include games that should've had a sequel i'd say 'Freedom Fighters'. That game totally deserved it instead of the 'kane and lynch' series. I mean come on! I wish so badly there was a 'freedom fighters 2' and i won't deny i've been a huge cold war buff for some reason. It's part of the reason why the 'Wargame' series is such a big deal to me. Not to mention you can go with the 80's and 90's vibe with a lot of it and the awesome soviet era music and that's never a bad thing.
Another game that deserved a sequel was the 'jedi knight series'. God that series was fantastic. I'd probably throw out 3 times the normal asking price just to play a next game in the series if it was any good. Jedi outcast and jedi academy were really fun. Then again maybe it's fair it ended. It had a decent run. I mean not every game can run on as long as final fantasy.
@soladrin: Wait what happened to petroglyph and 'end of nations'. I really like the post-westwood company and that game. I wasn't following what happened.
Trion suddenly decided that RTS was dead and made it into a gakky MOBA and sacked petroglyph from the project. Because Trion is terrible.

Yeah, CH was a From Software game, MAV is being developed by one guy.
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

"You need not fear us, unless you are a dark heart, a vile one who preys on the innocent; I promise, you can’t hide forever in the empty darkness, for we will hunt you down like the animals you are, and pull you into the very bowels of hell." Iron - Within Temptation

Also everyone saying starcraft ghost is cancelled.
It currently is still in the works. They are just waiting for a graphics engine to handle it. Because there is going to be a lot of things going on in the game. They want to execute far above most normal shooters in terms of graphics and performance. It has not been cancelled. Warcraft Lord of the Clans was. But Starcraft ghost is only in the land of in development.
It was "ready to ship" when they pulled the plug on it the first time, and that was many a year ago. Even Blizzard is saying that the game ever being delivered is exceedingly slim.

The character, Nova, has made some appearances, but it seems unlikely that she'll get her own game any time soon.
Are you sure it was ready to ship? I remember when it was canceled, and I never got the impression that it was ready to ship at that point, but I wasn't hugely pumped for the game to come out either.
Ghost was indeed never cancelled, but its development is in the same condition as SoB plastic minis. Never say never, though - she's got a dedicated following and her recent popularity in SC2 and Heroes may just rekindle an interest to make use of her as part of the IP.
The question may be more one of genre and resources. Right now, Blizz is committed to a whole handful of projects already, and seems unwilling to tap the FPS sector beyond Project Titan, which was not-so-recently catapulted back to the drawing boards and is now being remade from the ground up. Continuing Ghost would require an expansion of company assets, but with so many games in the making already some people are understandably wary at adding another risky endeavour. Especially given the lulzy amounts of cash that must've gotten swallowed by Titan already.
Things may have turned out differently if WoW would not have become such a great success years ago, and if the studio had not committed to Titan before Nova's comeback in SC2. Now, all we can do is wait and see.
And rejoice at her cheeky banter in Heroes of the Storm.

QFT
There's a statue of Nova at the Irvine HQ. Occasionally, employees lay down flowers at her feet.

The setting for the two games Gatling Gears and Greed Corp. Very pleasant artwork, very promising setting, very steampunky. After having experienced both games, then I watched that video for the first time, and then looked at the artwork for it, I was wet with excitement at thinking about all the things the studio could do with that IP. But its been a few years, and the studio seems dead.
I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.

Do you own a Wii U?
I know it's not technically the best in graphics right now, but the games are beautiful, and the joyful visuals support the gameplay of the games brilliantly.
If you're trying to make fun of graphical fidelity it's a non-argument, as then we should all be PC gamers only.

Yeah, graphics is a lot more than pure quality. Graphical design is very important.
Okami looks better than any Medal of Duty: Call of Honor on the Battlefield game, regardless of how "realistic" or hi-definition the latter tend to be, simply because it has far, FAR more interesting visual design choices.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Ghost for me, too. I was specifically looking forward to the GC version, and of course it was the version that got canned first. And yes, that version was officially 100% cancelled. It's pretty pointless to even state that the game concept itself is still in limbo. It's as cancelled as cancelled can be. Any future development will be an entirely new game, and I probably won't be excited about it.
Two more big ones are Robotech: Crystal Dreams and Babylon 5: Into the Fire.
I'd also include Gladius 2 since the ending of Gladius was deliberately made to get you excited for the sequel that was destined to never happen.

Starcraft: Ghost... I hate you guys for even mentioning it. And no, stahp. Nova as presented in Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm was so, so very disappointing. They really fethed up presenting her as little more than Mengsk's dragon (who was himself downgraded from a complex character in SC1/Brood War to a generic Saturday morning cartoon villain in SC2).

Not the best example you could go with, considering those games aren't considered good looking from anyone's standards. All of the last CoD's have looked like HD remakes of Modern Warfare 1.
