I'll definitely weather the posters up a bit...But what happens to them will happen to the wall too...I should have scrunched them up a bit before applying them tho...live and learn. I did a bit of graff...better than last time i reckon...The tag sucks tho, it's thematically ok but typographically ballz.

Great job guys it looks great! as always when you look at these competitions it feels like you're hopelessly outmatched by everyone else.
but it's a great source of inspiration!

Grag wrote:DIDDe: Thats looking snazzy. where did you get the barbed wire from, Ive' been looking for some myself.

I made it from car body mesh. so they are pretty cheap! but the con of it is that it's very time consuming to make them.. i can make a tutorial if you'd like and put it on my thread.

also, i have a question. is it ok to use other length measurements then inches? the only thing i have to measure with is in centimeters.. so i could make the sections 30cm and that will be the same as 11.81 inches.

All looking good so far.....and in a reversal of the good Dr's comment, it's slightly weird to not be able to say anymore

Didde - absolutely. I'm looking for a minimum of approximately 12"...I only used inches as it seems to be used by most game systems, I don't care whether you naturally work in cm, inches, rods, hands, furlongs or parsecs......

Sorry! I can't find any Sanctum imperialis parts for my wall... but, I did butcher my Stormtalon conversion for terrain, so I guess I am posting a concept doodle...

Okay so quick edit: I didn't feel like drawing anything of quality but, I doodled a basic idea down. It's going to be a Stormtalon crash-site into the side of a wooded hill that was fortified against a xenos incursion by Space Marines. And don't laugh at the deodorant pack part on top of the guns, it is going to be green stuffed or turned into a radar dish for the tower.

Here is how the conversion used to look....
[Thumb - 20141030_010511.jpg]
And here is the concept on a base.

Spoiler:

right now, have 2 ea. 6" long sections and 2 ea. 3" long sections in various stages, with ideas for at least on more piece of each length...hoping for the "modular" bonus, as they will all be similarly themed and interchangeable...

Beginning to work on my entry Hopefully I'm going to end up with modular bits to make this.

It's going to be a 6mm Trace Italienne or Star Fort
However the Geometry to get the 8 corner pieces to work right are making my head hurt, they are definitely proving cruel and unusual, I decided to make my life easier and start with the main walls. This means I can play with actual pieces to decide the shape and size of the corner bastions. Also if all else fails I can just enter the eight straights.

Here they are roughed up.

After some mild carving to make them look more correct heres the Entrance with some Infantry for scale

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Mostly, on my phone.

I had this plan to do a modular Tholian web (fun!) but essentially it would've just consisted of jeweller's gold thread and transparent flight stands.

So I went in the old bits box.

I have 9 of the Mantic Deadzone accessory sprues, those could make walls right?

But of course, this is the League - got to made from extraneous crud lying around the place.

And then I had this idea. It may be crazy, or I may have just invented a kickstarter-worthy project of doom:

The bases are the clips from the RoB board. Inside each is 3 hard card sleeves, of the baseball/ccg variety.

Completely modular walls for any game at a fraction of the cost, anyone? You could literally slide in "hulk in space" walls, "mad mansions", "infinite future", "heroic saga", "space web" or any other printed wall template you fancy, and slot them round as you see fit.

Now you could also paint them, of course, which would work, too

Your thoughts, mes amis?

Install an LED or three at the base and call it done Forcefields ftw.

i agree with GrimDork--LEDs in the base and you have simple, effective, interesting force field walls. if you don't want to do lights, make clips to hold only one hard card case--they don't need to be so thick if you aren't going to put lights under them.

I've finally made a start on my entry, and have decided to go for something small and detailed
rather than another big project that I might not finish.

I will be building some wall sections, but for now I'm still working on the gate.

I wouldn't instantly rule out having a partial wall to start with...but do show a pic of what you have and give a rough idea of where you want to take it so I can make an 'official' judgement

Mostly, on my phone.

Right, so, quick proof of concept:

Hulk, energy, rusty rivets and Tholian web.
Obviously these don't fill the sleeves fully, but they give you the idea.
I think that generally the clear edge of the sleeve makes the energy field most interesting. More generally, they could just be left transparent with a painted border. I like the LED idea and reckon making a couple of light up stands would be cool.
Thoughts?

Looking good guys!

Spoiler:

Pneumo - Just remember to add a second piece

gwaahr - The first piece and the wall section in the bottom pic would certainly be appropiate (some great use of junk there ) - but it needs to be built during the competition.
