I hoped another movie set in the future except it is T1, T2 and T3 put in a time paradox bowl, and make a mediocre rehash?
I hope it will be accompanied by a crappy game like Terminator Salvation was

Unfortunately they took the same approach as "Syfy channel".
Must be trying to appeal to the Welsh demographic.
As for the trailer it looks like the conversation went something like this:
"T1 and T2 were good, let's do a remake!"
"Great idea! Hollywood makes money from rehashing gak all the time! Which one first?"
"Both!"

Yes she does! Had to watch the whole trailer before I realised it was the actress from Game of Thrones.

I dunno. On one hand I'm intrigued. I'm (apparently) one of the few who really liked Terminator 3, especially the whole "Judgement Day is inevitable!" plot twist and how they didn't win in that film. Adding more onto that with weird time retcons and whatnot sounds great.
And I don't mind the 'y' in Genisys.
Never did see the Christian Bale one.

This. Not so much that he doesn't look like Biehn, but more than he looks like an action hero. The nice thing about Biehn was that he looked more like a gruff, everyman sort of hero.

Gun control act back in the 30's (I think?) regulated purchase and ownership of full auto.
But it's a minor quibble in a film about time traveling robot assassins...

With a background check and federal paperwork, yes.
But they are not full auto. They would be break action, pump action, bolt action, lever action, or semi auto.

No Christian Bale as John Connor?? Goddammit. As panned as that movie was, I somewhat enjoyed it and I was hoping for a direct sequel.
Still, this looks cool.

I think it was the first or the second one that had the flash backs to the war in the future. That is the movie I want to see.
The human resistance, fighting constant guerrilla warfare against ever changing machines. Hitting facilities in a desperate attempt to eliminate skynet. At the end of the movie they realize the only way to beat skynet is to kill it before it begins...
I dont know, the last few movies kind of sucked. I wanna see the future how it was portrayed initially!
I'm still waiting to see the Resistance's final victory over Skynet in the future, which prompted Skynet to send back the very first Terminator assassin (Terminator 1). Thats the movie I want to see. Basically a direct sequel to Terminator Salvation - with no more time travel. All these time travelling terminator assassin plots are getting...well, unoriginal. This is what...the 4th film involving time travelling assassins? (5th if you count the tv show).
As disliked as Terminator Salvation was, it was the most original film since the very first, as it covered new ground. I'm not bothered if the future is changed considerably from the vision that the first film gave us, as time travel will do that. But I really want to see this franchise come to an end, with a bang, by showing us Skynet's final demise at the hands of the Resistance in the future.

I'm guessing it's a terminator that was sent back either way before, or was dropped in wrong time. As for the aging, they've said several times in other movies it's living tissue over the skeleton. So who's to say it doesn't grow old.

It could be the person the Arnold terminator was modelled on as is said in the S M Stirling novels.
I recommend those really, they're a good continuation from T2. My eyes have glazed over with the subsequent films.

There are three, 'Infiltrator' is the first and 'Future War' the last. Not sure of the one in the middle. They look big books but are a breezy read and I flew through them.
I find the future war topic somewhat dull, because we know that Skynet is losing and turning to time travel through desperation, and all that achieves is preparing humanity even more for the future and further securing the defeat of skynet. We get glimpses of it through the first two films and that's great, because it's best as a shadowy horrible future. Books and films set in the war are just going to be blowing robots up. That's not interesting and we already know that Skynet is losing so there's no drama. The more it's depicted the less impact it has.
The 'Future War' novel is set just before the war and then moves through key events of the war which I felt was the best way to handle it because pages of fighting robots won't work.

Last Remaining Whole C'Tan
|
The problem I have with the franchise is the premise is totally broken.
T1: If you go back into the past, you can change the future. Terrific.
T2: No fate but what we make: the future is not set. Expanding upon the theme. Great.
Then along comes Terminator 3 and it takes a post-garlic-wings upper-decker right on the whole franchise, with the idea that Judgement Day is inevitable, and the future is preordained. If that's the case, why is any of this even happening? Why is Skynet sending anyone back in time, if the future is set?
Sarah Connor Chronicles: Realizes that PT3 sort of broke the franchise, and picks up right after T2. Good series.
T4: For some reason, pretends Sarah Connor Chronicles never happened, and picks up after T3. The future is set, so again, why try and kill John Connor at all? Hell, why does Skynet even fight if they are predestined to lose?
So, now that's the poop-pile we find outselves building upon. I don't see any way for a good movie to come out of this, and that's before we get into the poor visual effects and so on. I love the franchise but they should either let it die, or at least completely reboot it like Robocop did. It seems like they're going to instead reboot it while acknowledging the previous timelines which again I find very problematic.
