My understanding is a terminator -- Arnie pattern -- goes back to when Sarah Connor was a child, saves her and raises her.
Think that might be the bit in the clip when he's walking away with the girl over his shoulder.
He then trains her up so she's the badass action hero we see.
Indeed as you say the outer fleshy part of the terminator ages -- part of the disguise ? -- hence why that Arnold looks old.
Looks like the older Arnie termie kills the younger one when he first arrives -- before he kills the muggers and takes their clothes.

I honestly thought it was a fake trailer because of that. Odd name.
I'd really prefer a sequel to Salvation, a final conclusion to the franchise, before we get a reboot.
Salvation was building up to a nice conclusion and climax...then nothing. Getting a not-quite-a-reboot instead is an anticlimax.

Yeah, she looks too much like a child.
Linda Hamilton not only looked more mature, but she also looked tough as nails.
Seeing Emilia Clarke wielding a machine gun just looked comical.

Well... T1 Linda Hamilton looked pretty young too. She didn't look hardcore until T2.

Good to see from the helicopter scene in the trailer that Arnie is still doing his own stunts
I've owned probably 6 or 7 copies of Terminator 2 on VHS, later DVD including multiple copies of the numerous special edition tin box-sets and the like that they released. It was the film for my friends and I when I was a young teenager - massive Guns'n'roses fans, I would rate it as one of my favourite films of all time. The kind of film where you have a shared experience with friends of growing up with it, and you can all relate to it. We all used to reel off quotes from the film, safe to say we were massive fans.
Years later and the same friends and I are stood outside the cinema humming the Brad Fiedl theme tune, waiting to see the 3rd film. Two hours later my faith in the terminator franchise, and humanity (I'm only half joking!), had been utterly smashed. They had managed to make a film that was not only bad by itself, but was so bad that it actually damaged the film that had come before it.
I remember reading a quote from James Cameron at the time that if he had seen Jonathan Mostow walking down the street he would have had 'words' with him. The director himself had picked up a half-baked script that had passed through half a dozen writers, something that he admitted later that he wasn't sure about at all, and ended up getting twisted by the studio execs because they were concerned that the film wouldn't work. Arnie himself wrote in his biography that the film felt 'wrong' when he stepped out of his trailer onto the set in his jacket. They should have listened to the man!
The film is a fething travesty. It's got some good action sequences in it, just because of the amount of money thrown at it something had to stick to the wall. But that's about it, it's not even 10% of either of the films that came before it.
To be honest, I'm not that hopeful for this new film. But, the bar has been set so low by T3 and Salvation that to be honest if the film only comprised of the 2 minutes that we saw in the trailer, it would be an improvement on what has come before.

T1: If you go back into the past, you can change the future. Terrific.
I disagree. In T1, Skynet is not trying to change its present by altering the past, but to create an alternate timeline where it survives. Skynet can't save itself using time travel, at least not the Skynet that uses time travel. It seems likely that even Skynet does not understand the effects time travel will have in that universe.
The movie actually confirms that you can't change the future. There is no fate but the closed causal loop where Kyle Reese travels back in time. Notice that Kyle in the future had the picture of Sarah taken at the gas station at the end of the film, a place she would only be due to the events initiated by Skynet's time traveling Terminator. The time travel did not change anything because it was always a part of history; Skynet simply completed the loop (and sealed its own fate) by sending back the Terminator.
The second film is the one that craps all over the premise. Yeah, the theme is uplifting, but due to the way time travel works in the series, Sarah Connor's attack on Cyberdine might be what prompted the military to move all of the backup data and research into the mountain complex that eventually became Skynet's home. Judgement Day is inevitable in the cosmology of the first movie, and the second one doesn't really disprove this.
The third movie can go to hell. The fourth movie is already there.

The ending of T3 is probably the worst part of the series, IMO. It completely counters the message of the entire franchise. (There is no destiny; no fate but what we make.)
That being said, I f-ing love the Terminator franchise. I will see this, without a doubt. All they needed to do was show me this trailer and give me a date; I'm in with no further enticement.

So, I finally watched that trailer, and it looks almost like there are multiple timeline's converging or something. I get almost a Time War feeling from it. Makes me want to see the movie.

T3, despite having a somewhat interesting story, had the worst actors of any Terminator movie and is borderline unwatchable in my opinion. I liked the idea that even as we defeated 1980s computer Skynet, we failed to defeat 2000s software/computer virus Skynet.
T:S was an interesting take with excellent actors, but showed us something we should never really see, which is the war. We all WANT to see it, but it's not really what the franchise has been about. Though I loved the decaying rubber T-whatevers.
All that said, I am stoked for more Terminator (and yes, more Arnold). It will never recapture the magic of the first two, but then again, I don't expect it to.

T3 sucked, it was basically a much crappier remake of the 2nd film (although the end was definitely amazing).
Now, it has been YEARS since I've seen T:S, but I remember actually kinda liking it when it came out. The script sucked, but I actually liked that they took a huge risk and did something different. I also didn't really care that it was PG-13. With the exception of a couple body-horror Terminator scenes, the series has been border-line kiddie-friendly since T2.
