One thing about that death was how it jarred with the flavor of the anime. You start with a cartoony look, slapsticky characters, and feel-good “fighting spirit, you can do it if you try!” expecting a light hearted romp. Then *BLAM* now we’re talking about dealing with loss, picking up the pieces after a tragedy, etc.
I liked the series, but kept asking myself what demographic they were aiming for.

That one hit me, too, even though it was spoiled for me because
Spoiler:
I didn't realize it'd be so early in the series. I was expecting it to be the splitting point of the two cours, not a main event in the first freaking season.
And I always get a bit teary
Spoiler:
at the end of DEEN's Fate/Stay Night, because I am at heart a massive sap.

The anime is 1 year shy of being a decade old. I might go shorter than 5 years but there comes a point regardless where people just no longer have any reasonable expectation to be protected from spoilers. EDIT: Honestly this entire thread should be carried with an underlying assumption that there will be spoilers XD
I actually rather like it (more than other trapped in a game animes). The goblins have actual character which is interesting, the art is lovely, and the main party has a nice chemistry. That being said, it is going hella slow and they really need to pick up the pace or even I'm gonna get bored XD

What you are saying is the GM needs to railroad them a little bit right

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios
Dammit, for some reason now I want to rewatch crime dramas and add a commentary track as if it was an RPG.

Erased is one of the best things I have seen if you are into "Mystery" with awesome characters to boot. I'm resisting so much not to read the manga too. It should be illegal to end episodes as they are.

I watched the first 2 eps and stopped. Way too many cliffhangers. I will binge this when it's done.
I want my season 2 of panty & stocking damnit. I just finished it. And I want more. Damnit gainax, stop rebooting evangalion every 3 years and get on that.
They stepped up the drama, politics and world building.
