A tiny, 2-week window "sometime soon" for the pledge manager is not reasonable at all.
It's even less reasonable without all of the model renders available.
It's just fething clownshoes.

Chances are they'll keep it open for a "little bit longer" or as with previous things, keep on extending it due to popular demand.

Didn't they say they say, once the PM was open it would stay open till the last "wave"shipping?

So you could add more if you wanted/didn't have to put money on anything you hadn't seen?

It would be nice to have a summary of all the different "units" (or single models) with a single picture of the individual unit... rather than 40,000 pictures of a single unit.

As they're using their webstore like last time you'll be able to see the stuff on that

(fingers crossed they have a separate section from the existing stuff)

So is there an option to wait and see everything in the resin before choosing? Or do I have to choose based on renders and concept art?

Really hoping that there is an option to wait as I'm only liking about half the current renders so far (compared to the concept art).

Raging Heroes say a lot of things. At different times.

There's been a bit of recent speculation that they're a bit short of funds, so perhaps this ridiculously short window is to pressure/force an infusion of money? I know that if they don't feth me around with short deadlines and such, I'll be much more inclined to give them a LOT of money.

The shorter campaign may have also been a move by them to force people into jumping in with all they got now, instead of missing out. Though seeing as one can still pledge post campaign..

We do have several minis that are not yet sculpted, or finished sculpting. They will be included in the Pledge Manager when we open it, and so backers will be able to choose them base on the concept art, but we completely understand that many backers prefer to see the sculpts and so, our plan is to reopen the Pledge Manager once the missing sculpts are done, so that people can add to their selection.

Even though they are saying they will reopen the pledge manager, I'm not liking this at all.

This has happened before. It will happen again.

It's the same as the original campaign, but happening much, much faster.

I'm with Alpharius on this one. Although i plan on getting the Daughters of the Crucible, on top of the Knights of the Chalice, this is it. No more. Not a cent more. And if they are not differ'nt enough, I'll only get 5 of the KotC. They can take shipping out of my pledge.

I guess I should have checked into how their first Kickstarter went a bit more before I jumped into this one, didn't realize they liked to mess about quite this much.

Oh well, there are enough already rendered minis I like to use up my pledge, the extra I was going to put into this can go into the Twisted one instead (get myself some of those awesome Eygptians!)

I went through all of the thus-far-released renders and the corresponding concept art, and I'm joining the club for those regretting putting money into this one - at least as much as I did.

I'm primarily going to use these for RPG games, so not having more rank and file plain troops aren't as much of a problem to me as others. And I can for the most part deal with some of the gratuitous skin and boob-plate. I knew I was going to get that from RH, and since I had primarily planned to get elves it wasn't as big of a deal.

I just can't get over the heels.

Much of the art had smaller, more reasonable heels for the elves, and boots for the Sisters with a small heel. But the rampant 6+ inch (15+ cm) size heels across all the miniatures just puts me off to the range.

Spoiler:

These are two I were looking to get, but I don't want it to look like all that needs to be done to knock them over in a fight is to poke them with a long stick and knock them off balance.

I'm going to come out and say that I like the way the models look with heels. I knew that was what I was going to get with RH and am not surprised by how the minis look. I'm excited to see the calvary models next. My only regret is that they didn't unlock the Not Talos/Grotesques.

The Not-Grots got unlocked, I believe. (The Centaurs.) But yeah, I wanted the taloi too.

I'm kind of 'meh' about the Davidians. They look cool, but I'm not going to get them without some reasonable SOB to go with them.

more updateification

Update #47 – (Again, may not be SFW) – Incomplete Update - please refer to Update #49

Warning: More Naked Elves images below!

EDIT:

Well, Kickstarter decided to upgrade their interface just as I am preparing the new Update... And so, after much slowing down, it also broke several images that I was uploading, and when I went to Save, somehow it Published instead of Edit (although that could have been me, hard to say at this point), and so there you are, with a completely unfinished Update!

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

I am sorry about this :( I will begin again and attempt to do it right this time.

Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience. Back soon. At least, this way, you'll be able to see directly the time it takes to upload images on a Kickstarter Update, even when everything is ready and written

Please refer to Update #49 for the full Update.

Death Dancers: Troops and Command Group (Lust Elves - F/SF)

You may recall that we featured several Death Dancers in a previous Update. We have now finalised the entire unit, so here they all are:

Spoiler:

Blade Maidens: Troops and Command Group (Sisters - Fantasy)

{oh no, missing images}

Blood Vestals: Troops and Command Group (Dark Elves - Fantasy)

{nope the images for this didn't come through either}

Well that's it for now. More Troops again to show in an upcoming Update, so stay tuned...

And again, remember to contact us directly if you have any questions.

Huh. While dynamically posed troops is neat, it won't yield you much variety in the long run when building an army out of multiple boxed sets.

The Blood Maidens look great. The Death Dancers look awful. I can't even think of a constructive way to put that.

Agreed. The Blood Maidens even have toned down heels, which while still not the combat boots from the concept art, are at least in a reasonable range.

It's really exactly as BrookM described it: they aren't making troops at all, they're simply making different levels of characters, with the 'troops' being characters and the named characters being... just more over the top characters.

The great irony is that instead of being a good source for making an alternate SoB armies, RH is now a great source for SoB heroes and unit leaders... but in desperate need for a different (less insane) company to make the actual troops for the armies.
