Holy crap...

I need this as a miniature. I may die without it.

As a curiosity though, what will you use it as?

Or will it be a display piece?

I'm genuinly curious.

I'll probably grab a few SOB heroines.... I'm still waiting for my TGG1 minis, and since that time, I've lost my primary income. Even then, for the long wait last time, I'm just not willing to do another high income pledge with RH.

Just go with the single mini pledge then for the time being. You can always top up at a later point when you feel confident (or in my case, crazy) enough to get some more minis.

Raging Heroes does not deserve your preorder money, not when they're a year behind schedule and counting on their previous Kickstarter.

I'm not a fan of the concepts, either. Way too much greeble on them - the only smooth surfaces on the entire Knight of the Chalice are on the sides of her hammer.

Kickstarter is not pre-order.
Their last campaign got so much gak, and I would have liked my models on time, but so much of it was people jusy being donkey caves. It was a KS project, have any model ones been on time?
They do great minis and they are clearly trying their best to keep everyone happy, hell yes im putting in for some dark elves and paladin ladies.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I thought it would be easy to avoid this one...

...but like many others, this mini:

Hell yeah!

Of course, scale issues and past performance means I'll probably only (!) pledge for this miniature - or a unit of them, if they exist.

I'll figure out what to use them in later!

Noooo! Why did I look at the awesome concept art? Why did I get back with my ex? I'm an idiot, I feel the need to pledge, somebody talk me down!

You're right. It certainly had nothing to do with Raging Heroes putting forth an inconsistent message that, at times, bordered on condescension and outright lying.

It was all on "people being donkey-caves."

Oi vey.

They most likely deliver, but it certainly won't be on time, and they'll probably be uppity in their interactions with their funders.

Their previous KS isn't remotely close to being completely delivered.

Better?

Yeah, technically it's even worse. You're just throwing money at the company in the hope of them making a product, lol. At least with a Preorder you're just giving them an advanced cash infusion on a product that already exists. With this KS, you're just paying for the rights to look at some pretty pictures, and then maybe one day get a model that looks kinda like it.

Interesting that there appears to be dudes this time around. If there's anything that'll look good with my Dark Eldar, I might consider backing. Otherwise, I'll keep away this time.

2/3s of the way through at least, with the balance for most backers shipping out next week with all the freebies. Then it's just us poor Wave 3 fethers.

Have they shown any humility in admitting they need to improve? Or is it still perfection?

That's what they are striving for. The latter that is, wanting to give us the best they can give.

I do hope that this time round they will set hard goals and stick to them, sometimes artists need good creative control. Just look at how KD:M has dragged along for so long.

I think Benoit is both the lead artist, and the "in charge" guy at RH. I've spoken to either one or a couple of the others f the RH crew in their chat and email (the combination of real names and mascot names made it confusing) and they seem both very nice and also quite earnest.

There's nothing entitled about expecting companies to realise that the "delivered by" has to, you know, MEAN something and that KS don't ask you to just put a random date in there that may or may not have anything to do with what you're actually doing. Or to expect companies that exceed that date to talk honestly to their backers about what's happening, rather than waste time with cutesy hashtags. KS may not be a pre-order, that doesn't mean creators are free from obligations if they want people to come back for the next one.

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

Kickstarter is not a pre-order, but as far as I'm aware, the creator is obliged to at least provide the pledge rewards that he promised. It could be that RH never puts TGG up for regular sale and never pursues this business again, but legally they are obliged to give the rewards or money back.

Most probably it will wind up in the box of assorted awesome miniatures from various companies that I'm totally going to paint any day now...
