Yeah - not sure what the fuzz is all about. They asked, the backers said yes as a majority. You simply get a chance to add some more stuff to your existing pledge, that's it.

We were not really happy with how the Draahks had turned out in the end. We felt they were a bit too small and that the miniatures were not doing justice to the sculpts. So, despite the extra cost, we scrapped the moulds and the casts, increased their sizes, reprinted the masters and went through the moulding process a second time. Now, they'll truly strike fear in the heart of your opponent when you'll deploy them on the gaming table. http://bit.ly/TGG2-66

The increase does make them look better, especially when put next to a model that's already 60% leg.

Larger size might be a bit difficult to put them into a regiment. Looks like the mount's head extends far enough to go into the butt of the rank in front of it.

You don't buy these with stuff like "ranking up" in mind, nine times out of ten they're not made with that in mind.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Warhammer fantasy doesn't use square bases any more ever since the Space Marines arrived.

I'd hazard a guess that roughly nine out of ten of the fantasy models in this KS was bought by people with precisely "ranking them up" in mind. So the exact opposite really.

You reeeeeally should. I had to get replacements for my Shewolves due to bad casts, twice in the case of one of them. RH was really cool about it and their customer service person Ioana responded very quickly and was super nice, so no complaints there, other than the few months everything took which was mostly due to changing customer service reps at the beginning it seems.
Still, best to get your replacements taken care of earlier rather than later, just in case. Spin cast resin is not exactly the most robust to bubbles and other casting issues.

Not the only one. Of course, I could just as easily say that 9 out of 10 people buying them don't care about ranking them up. It's probably closer to 50-50 these days if we're being realistic.

My girls are on CIRCLES, thank you very much!

Of course I could always look into circular movement trays if I ever wanted to use them in a rank n' file type game...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

My comment wasn't so much a dig at whatever system people end up using these for, but rather that there's a good chance that these models are designed in such a way that conventional ranking will be quite a chore, making the suggestion given by Azazelx the most likely way to pull it off.

RH is definitely a style over substance (aka functionality) company.

On the plus side. There stuff is perfect for AOS apparently, which they must be pretty happy about.

Alot of mine is gonna be used for a hordes legion of everblight army.

These things are too pretty to rank up... which was always one of my biggest problems with WHFB. How much time do I want to spend painting 'Dude that stands in the middle and is essentially just a wound token'?

I thought about adding a little more to my order, but I'm not sure what the status of 'ready to ship' is and I'm also not 100% positive what I've already received, so I'm a little reluctant to go ahead. I *really* wish they had a way to tell what was shipped from a partial fulfillment.

It would be nice if they would have marked what shipped on their website as opposed to making me do it myself....and now that I have typed that out....I feel really lazy.

First world problems :(

No, I think that's reasonable. There are about 10,000 items in their second KS, and being able to see the status of them would help backers/customers quite a lot.

My girls will be used in any game that I can squeeze them into. AoS, KoW, Fantastic SAGA, 40k, Mordheim, Frostgrave, Necromunda, Dragon Rampant, Rogue Trader/Deathwatch.... all I need is to actually get some gaming in.

Just to reiterate: they reopened the pledge manager after getting lots of requests to reopen the pledge manager and holding a poll for backers asking them if they wanted the pledge manager reopened.

I was happy they did - I could order more stuff for my KoW army, given I was a bit short in some areas.

The models do rank up fairly well if you're going with the minimum model count, so long as you're happy to pin everyone to the base. Its a little dicey - some of those ankles are fragile.

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

I got my freebies! I gotta say, they look pretty good. Very sharp details and overall pretty good casts. Not a lot of resin bubbles or flash obscuring detail from the quick look over I did of each model. That said, these models have a ridiculous amount of mold gates. Like, I've never seen anything like it and I hope I never have to again. Given how intricate and fiddly a lot of them are, I imagine these are going to be a nightmare to clean up. Kind of wish they would have had the foresight to find a better solution for this, but I know nothing about casting so I don't know if it's a necessary evil.

The one thing that worries me is that some of the models seem to have a similar issue I saw on another TGG model I bought (Lady Hilda Von Stroheim) a while back. The resin is slick and oily, but on a level not like most of the other models. This doesn't feel or look like the same standard resin shininess you see on unwashed resin models, but rather the same type of issue I had on the Hilda model. No matter how much I scrubbed, no matter how long I let it sit in hot soapy water, no matter how many different liquids I used (simple green, alcohol, vinegar, etc.) I could not get the slick shininess to come off and it is absolutely 100% unpaintable. I had to throw out the model and request a new one, asking for a white metal one just to be sure. This is an issue I've run into with a lot of resin models across companies that's left me paranoid of buying resin models in general. I'll have to give the suspicious models a thorough scrubbing and see if it's as I fear.

I haven't been following this KS super closely since I pledged for it. Has anyone else been reporting any issues regarding this impossible-to-remove shininess on the models that prevents them from being painted?

I got my freebies pretty early and didn't notice anything yet - but I haven't tried to paint them up yet, only cleaned them when they arrived initially.

Yeah, pretty much everyone agrees that the mold-release is awful to clean off. I never quite managed to get it all off, but mostly managed after following the instructions 3-4 times over the course of a week or two.

They acknowledge it in one of their updates and said the next batch is using something less difficult to clean off.
